[Q] Screen mirroring tool for PC - BBQDroid? - General Questions and Answers

Hi there
I'm looking for tool that mirrors the android tablet screen on a PC as I would like to use it to demo the app that is developed. Could you point me in right direction? I wonder how did the guys at Google I/O 2014 got so great smoothness when screen sharing on their N5 devices?
I don't want to use TeamViewer as I find it too slow -- preferable the frame rate should be 15 or more FPS.
I've found BBQScreen DEMO in Google Play (can't provide direct link due to anti spam rules) that looks promising but apparently their website is down for coupe of days. Maybe someone has the installation package for windows client?
Cheers

monitoring a pc on my smartphone screen

Is there any way to remotely connect to my office desktop pc over tcp-ip from my htc wings (win mobile 6 standard)?
I know pcanywhere (mobile edition) but that works only with pocket-pc. Any solution for smartphone?
Any help much appreciated!
uhhh
...long time ago i ve seen an app Called PuppetMaster...LINK ,for like a remote controlling...or do you need any-file-acess-tru-Internet??The easiest way is to install any free FTP-Serversoftware like FireFTP...and then use the RescoExplorerFTP-or OrnetaFTP-or TotalCommanderFTP-Funcs..
Thanks for the tips, i'll check them out.
Actually, I did not mean an ftp client/server. I was/am hopping to -literally- see the monitor of a remote PC on the screen of my htc wings. Remote controlling and ftping is an additional plus.
Browsing over internet, I have yesterday found a possible solution in ultraVNC + VNCviewer. I tried but didnt work out so far...
any positive experience??
Use the "MouseMode" Feature of PuppetMaster...it will display your PC-Desktop on your SP-Display with a Crosshair in the middle, you can move around the Desktop-capture and do some actions like Mouseclicks and many more...try it, its really nice.

[REQUEST] Remote foobar

I would donate money to someone who made a remote app to foobar2000 for android.
Maybe there already is but I've searched a lot and cant find it =(
There is this http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=38114 control.dll wich handles some commands and the connection over tcp/ip.
But the rest I can't do on my own
I also would like a foobar remote. I've done the android tutorials on the sdk website but I'm by no means an experienced developer.
I thought I would base it around the android-vlc-remote interface.
Perhaps a google code project is a good idea?
I have written a remote controller for foobar2000 a while ago. It's not very beautiful, but at least it works. It's not a plugin for foobar though, it's a server program written in Java. It still just has the basic controls, but I'm about to make it good and release it after my exams (in a couple of weeks or so).
Try out foo_httpcontrol. Then there are a few templates that look good on the Android (I use the ones by KEVO).
I can't post a link, but here is the URL, but Google and there is a thread on Hydrogen Audio dot org

i am using that too , but do u have resolution problem, becoz it is designed for G1
beware, shameless self-plug follows:
i've written an app to control foobar2k over wifi. uses the foo_httpcontrol plugin to send commands/get data.
the website is: foodroid.net84.net (has the QR-Code). or simply search for "foodroid" in the market.
please note, if you already have foo-httpcontrol installed: you also need to have the "ajquery" template installed.
if you don't have it installed: i made a setup to install foo-httpcontrol including "ajquery".
it's currently in beta, but pretty useable IMHO.
cheers, bugramovic

See my blog.
0.2b does work fine. Thanks.
Some things I learnt.
- Right click acts as "home" button press
- Escape on the keyboard acts as the "back" button
- Cursor keys work fine.
Cool
Now i'd just need to alter the framebuffer change detection to speed up the performance in updating screen...
How is the screen update performace on pc of nexus?
its not very snappy, slight delay before rendering new windows.
Whoah! Kudos to you, it works on my HTC EVO 4G!! Thanks a bunch!
wow i've been researching and looking into a possible solution to windows mobile mymobiler
www.mymobiler.com before making the complete jump to android and your project looks like a really good solution to mymobiler for me compared to the android screencast app
i was looking around on your blog (added it to my rss feed to keep up) i'm really interested in this
i'm a part time android user (dual boot windows and android 2.2) next time I switch over to android I will definitely install this and check it out with tinyvnc
keep the updates coming great job
and if possible add some of the ideas from mymobiler a lot of people are really interested in seeing a mymobiler for android and it looks like your working on a great solution
Green lines on HTC Desire.
Thanks for the job.
Is it possible to install landscape mode for looking on TV?
CU Ulli
If there are much people interested i think i can implement it
UPDATE: The app is already on the market, search for vnc server
Dear lord, this app is FANTASTIC! Works great (though the interface is a tad rough).
And just for fun, I couldn't help but try a camera feedback loop between my laptop & Evo running a VNC connection:

Anyone doing Web design on their Note 10.1?

I have a few projects planned which means I'll be getting into a bit of Web design again.
I was wondering if this tablet / the Android platform has to ability to support web design in any way?
Has anybody tried this with any success?
Obviously the artwork is a given, but I would like to be able to create complete sites and upload content if this is possible?
Thanks

The most I have done on my tablet is keeping Wordpress sites updated... they have a pretty decent app out...
I understand this really isn't "web design" but it is in the realm.. thought I'd share.
Extremely plausible,
I'm a frontend developer/designer mainly working on Mac OS/Ubuntu, but lately I catch up on my mark ups while accompanying my missus on the weekend, she's in the beauty salon, I'm on the waiting bench with a cup of coffee, tablet connected to a usb mouse + bluetooth keyboard. Files are sync on dropbox (I use dropsync instead of dropbox app since it allows me to sync the way desktop app sync) or I simply edit from FTP (or simply offline edit, download my project to my tablet and work it locally)
I use these following apps on android:
- ES File - best free FTP/file browser imho
- Chrome - since we mostly did Chrome apps, this ensure the design rendered well on desktop chrome as well btw chrome android DOES support local file
- Droid Edit - superb editor
- Photo editor for image crop if you must (I prefer pure html/css for creating elements)
I mostly write HTML/PHP. Try it mate! Felt weird at first but somehow writing on Droid Edit mimics the experience I got from writing on Espresso/Sublime Text, well.. minus the code completion of course LOL
Cheers!
Same here.. The notes software thou will not TOUCH True web design software. I to use word press to push updates as well as c/panel app to do domain and email admin stuff on some non profit sites i manage..
I would say quick edits and add pages from page temp-lets and code from copy past or some simple editing while out and about would be great. NOT Full editing.. I Think the same for editing graphics on the note. I have 32 inch monitor and wacom intros on my desktop. Note is awesome BUT FAR FROM setup i have on desktop
I think I'm going to get the Samsung ATIV smart PC Pro (convertible laptop).
Full windows OS and i5 processor, all my windows software installed so this will replace my laptop.
This also has the s-pen and wacom digitiser.
So far I can't think of a better all rounder but I'm open to suggestions?!?
Thanks

I asked me the same question a few weeks ago and after a bit of research I found the answer for me - 10.1.
Its due to the more possibilities on android, less weaker than windows in the area of virusscanners (you always have to install one on windows) and the good portability.
In this Video (
) u can see some other devices like the ativ one. Even the "lag" in paintshop on ativ compared to the price difference in my country, it was less expensive to get a note.
So far, with something like Air Display, iDisplay or S Tablet ( stablet.co.kr ) (which, it seems, will be released soon) you can use the paint-programs on windows or mac with your spen (what i've read) with screen sharing or use ur note as a wacom tab for pc.
But one thing I don't like is the lack of charging/AC while using otg.
I build an otg cable with some extras, so i can use external usb keyboard, mouse, gigabitlan over usb (wifi disabled that time) and some drives and sticks on my 10.1.
With mouse its like working on pc and I can superfast dismount the otg to take the note with me.
Hope there will be a kernel soon or something to use usb power (or ac power) while otg. So far, it's possible through a trick and its not working every time - maybe I'll make a thread with my custom otg cable...
Oh, and the weight. ~600 gramm the note, ~1,7 kg the ativ ? Ough.
good luck.
ps: first thread and... Ich habe das "noob-Video" gesehen bei der Registratur. Und es soll verboten sein, Nicht-Englisch zu reden?

[Q] EasyCap Viewer

hello,
i bought the easycap viewer android application,
and installed it on my devices
The easycap viewer needs an easycap frame grabber , connected via usb to the device and connected to a camera (via bnc or s-video or rca connector)
the devices i have are these:
- Acer iconia tab a500 (tegra 2 , android 4.03)
- Created N7 (china phablet, mt6592, android 4.4.2)
- Xiaomi m2s (qualcomm snapdragon, miui v5)
The application does work flawlessly with the Xiaomi m2s,
instead:
on the Acer, when i start the app, the screen become black, and the app is not responding
on the Created N7,, the appl starts , but when i connect the camera, i cannot see the video coming from the camera
I dont understand why on these devices the app does not work,
and need help to understand what is the cause of the problem.
The app includes an option to send log report to the developer
(autodroid), i sent it, but autodroid told me to try with a powered hub, but this did not help...now they are working on other project, so they told me they cannot help
Could you please help me to find the cause of the problems?
By the way, on the Acer i cannot send the report, because the appl is not responding:
so i enabled the logcat, and i was able to see in it that the appl is hanging when it tries to load the streaming library...
Could you help me?
I can send you all the data you need to debug the appl..
or, if not possible to fix it, could you suggest me an alternative frame grabber application/usb dongle that can work with my devices?
PS for the forum moderators:
this question was submitted also on XDA assist,
but there only a user answered to me.
The answer was absolutely general and not satisfactory,
then the thread was closed by the same user.
So i opened this new thread.
Please keep it open,
so that i can get also other opinions from other users.
Thanks.
Thank you!!
Lodovico
