Hi all,
I make a application android for my customers but my customers want to allow their customers access to tablet with my application "blocked". The final user can't quit my application, he can simply use my application.
Tablet must have ethernet (via usb to lan adapter), the bottom button bar must be hidden.
Can you recommend me a model ?

I have tested the Toshiba folio 100, but with no driver video for the graphic card with andro 3.0.
Andro 3.0 is required for the usb to lan adaptater
I have try too the acer iconia a200, but isn't rootable for the moment,
now I try the samsung galaxy tab

Lenovo thinkpad offers alot of security for the tablet and is integrated into the framework and not a app alone, which makes breaking the security alot harder for regular users even with root enabled.
i think its a question of users/companies wanting security they get Thinkpad tablet for that, which cisco client included for vpn as well.

I think we are working on similar projects because it seems we have tested the same tablet and we are also lookgin for the followinf important things :
-A- securing the environnement by prohibiting the user to access the Os interface
-B- use a ethernet device via an USB adapter.
We have tested the following ones :
- Toshiba Folio 100 (ok for point A & B but not enough tested on HC 3.2)
- Acer Iconia A200 (the european tablet seems to be not rootable yet)
- Samsung Galaxy Tab P7510 (rootable without any problem so point A must "workable", but we habe problems with point B : do you connect your Tab with Ethernet ?)

Yes my application dialog with a server via http request. So I don't want use wifi because it's slow and very limited.
If you want to hide the bottom bar you can use this code :

i tested the firmware on my acer a500, but not the physical lenovo hardware, but thats not important here.
and since wifi is going offline during deepsleep on tegra2 tablet, i doubt any magic packet can awaken any tegra tablet unless you force wifi always on, but then alot of angry users will complain about battery life.

Hello,
i bought an EasyCap (version UTV007) frame grabber and
bought the EasyCap Viewer from the android Play Store,
installing it on my android devices:
- Acer Iconia Tab A500 ( nvidia tegra 2 with Android 4.03)
- Created (Alps) N7 (mt6592 with Android 4.4.2)
- Xiaomi M2S (qualcomm snapdragon, Miui JLB54.0 (V5))
In the app description i read that this application should work on most devices,
but i runned it on my devices, and the only device that works with this application is the last, the Xiaomi M2S
In the 'Acer A500' when i start the application, i get a black screen and the appl is not responding.
In the 'Created N7' the application starts normally, but i dont see the video coming from the camera when i connect it.
For the 'Created N7' sent the easycap application log report to the developer (Autodroid), but after a first (not working) answer on how to fix the problem, i have no more feedback from him.
For the 'Acer A500' i cannot send the application log report, so i activated the LOGCAT and sent it to the developer, and also for this i have no feedback yet.
I would like to make the app work with at least one of the two devices (the Acer or the Created N7), because they have a big screen..(10" and 7"),
so i can view my camera better than on Xiaomi M2S (too small 4" screen to see videos)
so i need some suggestion from some expert android developer that could help me to investigate the cause of the problem
(looking the logcat, seems the appl in the Acer stop working a few seconds after start, loading the streaming library... and instead in the Created N7, seems there is some problem getting the video signal...)
Could you help me to find the answers to fix the appl problems on these two devices?
Or, if this appl cannot work, can you suggest me some alternative appl/frame grabber that can work with my devices?

I have a Nexus 10 that I would like to use as a third monitor (after discovering the joys of a dual monitor setup) but would rather not put up with the lag from wireless solutions.
So my question is, can the mini HDMI on my tablet be used as an in port or is it an out port only? If it can function as an in, is there any extra software, etc I would need to use or would it just be plug and play?

I am looking for free ways & complete solutions to control/use/play apps, installed on android phone, directly from my windows pc screen. Yes, its a type of screen mirroring but in fact much more than that ! Actually my full concern is to avoid any type of sluggishness, as the application continuously interacts/updates information with internet more like an online gaming app if I am right ( I don’t know/indulge much about gaming ). Here the pc & mobile are placed side by side on the same wifi & they can be connected easily with an USB wire. So, i fail to think about remote control ( as i think it would be a sluggish option !? ) I am also ready to root the android device for the purpose although i know almost nothing about it ! Android's emulation or installation on pc are surely not my ways. Please suggest appropriately.

I'd like to log USB traffic on Android Pie, similarly to the way WireShark does it on a PC.
I have a Jaguar XF with an InControl Touch Pro ICE system. One can download an app called InControl Apps, which enables a select few Android apps to present themselves on the car's touchscreen as well as responding to touch events, when the phone is connected via USB. The system is actually called Bosch MySpin, although the MySpin app won't work with Jaguar cars. Unfortunately when I submit my details on the MySpin developer programme website, it crashes. I know they got my information, because one of their developers looked me up on LinkedIn, but they've been totally silent. I can understand if they've effectively closed the doors with Jaguar switching to Android Auto for this year's models, but it would still be cool if I can work out the protocol and publish it for others to tinker with too.
