Android L Port for Samsung Galaxy Grand - General Questions and Answers

Hi Devs, I had a small request for all the devs if someone can be so kind and generous to do a port of Android L to Samsung Galaxy Grand GT-I9082. I am so eager to test the new android but dissapointed as Android L is still available for only nexus users. :,(
Thanks in advance @satish

Gosh when will people realize that what google put out is a developer preview, this cannot be ported at the time being, Android L is not finished yet, and wont be ported until it is finished. try reading this here "Cyanogenmod The "L" is for Later"

I know that its a developers preview and cannot be considered as the the final built. But there are ports been made for different devices. For example a port for android l as been made for nexus 4 users. Check it out here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2807446

yeah saw that earlier today, we will probably see another for the nexus 7 2012, but there will be most likely no other ports, its a waste of time of porting the current android L code while it could drastically change and we would have to start all over again.

Yeah i believe that's the reason why we haven't seen much development in android L section. Although its a very hot topic now..

Well this question goes unanswered so let me be the first to say that I will pick up on this project and run with it to come up with a port for the evo3D. I will obtain the source code from the following link.

YESTERDAY MY FRIEND TOLD ME ABOUT THIS NEWLY INTRODUCES OPERATING SYSTEM WHICH

link for it:
https://sailfishos.org/
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sailfish_OS
and for devs of ace plus, just see if it could be ported easily or not... i think it could.
enjoy xda.
Jolla Sailfish is currently the hardest OS to be ported, as it was originally designed only for high-end Nokia handsets. Not going to see this any soon.

afaik, ace plus' /system partition is too small for ubuntu touch. maybe they will reduce OS size over time

[Q&A] Android L (5)

Anyone has started to develop a rom base on Android L?

Why?

Maybe 4Q 2014
Android L is not even out yet. There is a developer PREVIEW for the nexus 5 only!
Android L is set to release sometime in autumn, which means if we are lucky, we can have a working Android L port sometime in winter 2014 or 2015Q1.
And by luck, I mean that our device is a low priority device...
We'll be lucky if we get Android L at all.

If I recall correctly, that's now part of the boot screen because Google requires it in order for the device to be licensed for Google Play. That's what I heard.

hi
We r getting lollipop soon.... and powered by android in boot is pretty cool atleast for me no harm at all.
samsung has did a geat jobs! kudos for samsung
I hope this does happen soon, running lollipop on my Nexus 7 and HTC One M8 makes my Samsung Tab feel old
As long as rovo89, the Developer for the Xposed Framework for Android devices that run Dalvik..
Althought there is some development for Android Run Time, but its FAR from coming to fruitation and may not be ported and Not released at all.. After all the Developer is entitled to his own life, his own job and to spend time with his family rather to cut them all off just to get Xposed to work with Lollipop. ART makes it extremely hard to start all over from scratch.. As long as there is no Xposed Framework for Lolipop, I am QUITE happy with my Carbon Rom 4.4.4 on my Nexus, and extremely happy with the Touch Wiz Rom for my Galaxy tab.. It has so many features that I use so much.. Unless rovo89 releases Xposed... Android 4.4 is where I planing on Staying..
Besides I'm not a big fan of the complete redo of Android.. But if Xposed were around we could tweak it to where and what we want it to do.. There is no reason to upgrade if your a Power User..
There has been a lot of Chatter on Github, Xposed is a VERY popular mod and for those developers who know 10x more than I can contribute.. If we got together and helped this guy... We could give back to all those times we took.. Infact I will be making a Donation soon
Check out the Chatter on Github!
