GUYS PLZZ GO THROUGH THIS NEW OPERATING SYSTEM.
YESTERDAY MY FRIEND TOLD ME ABOUT THIS NEWLY INTRODUCES OPERATING SYSTEM WHICH
IS OFCOURSE OPERNSOURCE AND CONTAINS VERY STYLISH USER INTERFACE.
link for it:
https://sailfishos.org/
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sailfish_OS
and for devs of ace plus, just see if it could be ported easily or not... i think it could.
enjoy xda.
Jolla Sailfish is currently the hardest OS to be ported, as it was originally designed only for high-end Nokia handsets. Not going to see this any soon.

who knows how to port a Firefox Os or ubuntu mobile os to ace plus
afaik, ace plus' /system partition is too small for ubuntu touch. maybe they will reduce OS size over time

New Kernel

We can expect a new kernel perhaps 4.x version as Micromax is developing for 4.4 KitKat for its most sold device the Canvas 2! Let's keep your hopes up!

Kit Kat goes with 4.x kernels so to get it on canvas they will have to developed it .The rumors about the kitkat update is said to be true! So new kernel will be available!

Personally, I think there is an update. The reasons in order of their strengths.
It would be a bad PR for the company if it doesn't release nor deny it's existence. Most of the major tech blogs talked about it and micromax never denied(Nor confirmed though). If there isn't one they would have confirmed.
Also now that micromax has been aiming to become a major global player, it's a really good strategy to release latest software updates(Which many major players like samsung, sony,lg have been ignoring) to it's mid range phones released more than a year ago, earning some good press.
Also with moto G releasing this month,it's crucial for budget players to release software upgrades
Or may be I'm just thinking too much.
Lets wait till february
according to news, canvas series were to get 4.4.2 kitkat update in late january or february as new year gifts. so lets wait till then. getting excited will not help anything. LOL
Kitkat runs on as least as kernel 3.4.x

Kitkat least requires 3.8 so we can expect 3.8.x kernel if so!

Linus torvalds is still developing the 4.0 kernel. The 3.12 is released in November last year. It's just too early for any android OS to use the 3.12 let alone 4.0
Your source might have meant 3.4.0
We can OTA on new update as even below 10K like a77, a74, a76 now comes with OTA!

Android L Port for Samsung Galaxy Grand

Hi Devs, I had a small request for all the devs if someone can be so kind and generous to do a port of Android L to Samsung Galaxy Grand GT-I9082. I am so eager to test the new android but dissapointed as Android L is still available for only nexus users. :,(
Thanks in advance @satish

Gosh when will people realize that what google put out is a developer preview, this cannot be ported at the time being, Android L is not finished yet, and wont be ported until it is finished. try reading this here "Cyanogenmod The "L" is for Later"
I know that its a developers preview and cannot be considered as the the final built. But there are ports been made for different devices. For example a port for android l as been made for nexus 4 users. Check it out here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2807446

yeah saw that earlier today, we will probably see another for the nexus 7 2012, but there will be most likely no other ports, its a waste of time of porting the current android L code while it could drastically change and we would have to start all over again.
Yeah i believe that's the reason why we haven't seen much development in android L section. Although its a very hot topic now..

I too would love if the very knowledgable folks around here gave some beginner tips...
- a cross-platform development suite?
- best third-party cloud sync service to embed?
