kb2962407 causing jailbreak to hang - Windows RT Development and Hacking

Has anyone installed the optional update kb2962407 (published 6/10/2014) on their Windows RT 8.0 Device? I installed it last night and after rebooting the jailbreak hangs at "getting signing level". I've been using version 1.13a for a long time now, so I went and downloaded 1.20 which got stuck at the same spot. System doesn't crash or BSOD or anything, just nothing further happens in the PowerShell window. It should prompt for the volume up, down etc. I know it was well past the two minute uptime. Tried rebooting a few times too.
Fortunately after uninstalling this update the jailbreak started working again. Big sigh of relief...
Just curious if anyone else has experience issues with this update and the jailbreak?

I can't update or download apps from Market.

I can't install apps I've paid for. I can purchase new ones but they get stuck on "starting download" with a over ending status bar. Um on fresh .6
Wouldn't you know...
This problem's fixed itself since I posted this question. It didn't work for at least 2 weeks. Today I just queued up a bunch of apps to update, plus a new one to install (TivoRemote) and it did lag at the "Starting Download" progress bar for a looong time then all at once they started coming through as they should one-by-one. Typical.
Awesome.
I've had this randomly happened to me, even before I rooted my phone. I would typically disable my mobile data connection, enable wifi, then disable wifi and re-enable mobile. I have no clue what step along that way actually fixed it but it would start downloading again every time. I haven't seen it in a while though.
The same thing has been happening to me, I would restart my phone and the app would say it was installed but it force closed after uninstalling then reinstalling it worked fine

HTC Sync just hangs during install...

I'm trying to root my replacement Sensation. However, I'm getting stuck at a very dumb spot. I downloaded HTC Sync from HTC. Now, during install it just hangs while trying to install msxml 4.....
I've let it sit there for over an hour and it just constantly says "installing". And my CPU monitor consistently reads 1% - 2% cpu usage which is a good indicator that nothing is even happening.
I tried Googling the issue but everyone else with HTC Sync install issues are getting an error of some sort. I'm not getting an error at all. It just sits there. I've tried rebooting, redownloading, disabling antivirus, disabling firewall... everything.
I do not get this. I'm stuck at probably the most simple step of the entire rooting process. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I tried
Will it let you cancel the install without force quitting the installer?
Maybe you could try manually installing MSXML:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/search.aspx?q=msxml
I know that HTC Sync takes AGES to install (I have it on XP, Vista and Win 7 and they've all take a long time...not an hour though!).
BTW what OS are you on? Have you tried running the installer as Administrator in the compatibility tab on the file properties (shouldn't have to but still...)
Good luck

Windows Update not Working

Hello!
I have recently browsed XDA and people were reporting an update so I decided to check. As I opened Control Panel and navigated to Windows Update but the window just froze and became unresponsive.
Anyone else have this issue?
No... have you applied any hacks to your device?
Haven't seen this issue yet. One thing you can try to blow out windows update is to stop the windows update server, go to your windows directory and delete softwaredistribution and then start the windows update service. This clears out all updates and history and can fix a slew of update issues.

Or try to restart your Surface. My Windows Update in modern settings and Store updates kept spinning. I tried for two nights. Last night, I just restarted the Surface and both of them updated fine afterwards.

RT sticks at "Reverting Updates," also doesn't activate

A few days ago the Windows Store suddenly stopped letting me install apps. I traced the problem to Windows Firewall being turned off. Attempting to turn it off from Action Center resulted in an error, attempting to start the service manually from Services also resulted in an error.
Not really knowing what to do, I refreshed the surface (RT) and that seemed to fix the problem.
Now, however, with my refreshed Surface, ANY update that I try to install fails and hangs the Surface at the "Reverting Updates" screen (forever. literally. I have to power off and on multiple times). I then tried a hard reset, but that didn't change anything.
I don't know if this is related to my original problem or not, but I'd really like to get out of Office Preview. Also, since the refresh, Windows has been unable to activate, and is unable to even give me an error code ("Activation Error Description Not Found"). Help!

[Q] CM 10.3 on Galaxy Tab p5113 on Restart Loop

Edited for the third time. Apparently Ididn't fix my problem.
So I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.3 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1 (p5113***), and for some strange reason, my tablet keeps restarting randomly. I'd be reading a PDF or scrolling through some random app, and it'd suddenly freeze and the tablet would restart.
This all happened after I was typing a message on the Facebook app when it abruptly freezes and puts me through a restart loop that eventually ended. But when I finally got to startup without a crash, I'd see, almost immediately, a notification telling me that "Trebuchet has stopped responding", and my only option is to hit Ok. And I do, and most of the time, it crashes right afterwards.
At first, I was able to 'fix' (I think) this by freeing up space on my internal storage, because an app was on an update loop trying to install an update that was too big for whatever space I had left. I assumed it was eating up memory, space, and RAM and overwhelming my OS, so I uninstalled it and everything worked fine for most of the night. Later, I was reading a PDF file when Adobe just stopped working, froze, and put me through another restsart loop.
Also, I would like to point out that it is extremely difficult to turn this tablet off. It usually loops a few times before shutting down. Also, CM is updated to the latest STABLE update, which is not at all recent.
All this after Facebook crashed. I seriously have no idea what I do, and I would rather not reinstall CM, because it was an ADVENTURE trying to install it the first time, and I heard it's even more difficult and dangerous to uninstall and restore to factory settings. I'm not really good at this stuff.
Please help. Please.
*** Apparently my tablet is p5110, and the version of CM I installed was compatible with p5113, but it managed to work anyways, so I just shrugged and let it happen. And it has been working for the past 14 months, prior to the Facebook crash that started this mess.
Don't mean to bump, but I'm only replying to myself to show that my original post edit is now moot, because the problem resurfaced ... help.
I don't have a solution to you, but will share my own experience on the 5113. I have two of them. One has been stable since I bought it, except for a brief time when it had the awful first 4.2 update, eventually fixed by the MK3 firmware update. It's working fine. My other one has been a nightmare all year long, after six or eight months of stability after I bought it.
I've installed CM on in, in early June. Unstable.
I've installed Omnirom on it shortly afterward. It was more stable, but still not "stable."
Installed Ripper Rom. Worked of a couple days but was ultimately unstable.
I've recently flashed it back to the MK3 firmware via ODIN. It's still unstable.
I've determined it must be some hardware fault in the tablet, and I'm going to sell it for parts. I've bought an ASUS transformer TF701T tor replace it.
I wish you luck and hope your problem is software only. But I've heard many of these tablets go unstable after a while, and fear it is a hardware thing.
