Hi i'm a newbie. i received a notification about 2.14 software update . i downloaded and installed the update, but when the phone restarted i got stuck at htc logo , so i don't know what to do my phone is s-on the only thing that i can access is fastboot . i tried to install stock ruu but it was older that 2.14 so i couldn't update it .. if anybody could help me i'd appreciate that....
Hold volume down and press power.
You're now in the bootloader.
Use the volume keys to navigate to "FACTORY RESET" (Which will obviously wipe ALL of your contacts, apps etc.) and press power to confirm.
Is it fixed now?
i did this before but nothing happened . it still stuck on htc logo . but thanks for ur help

The OTA cannot overwrite Revolutionary S-Off HBOOT. You need to reflash ClockworkMod and restore a backup if you have one. If you don't have one then you need to flash a custom ROM.

OP says his device is still S-ON.
Try finding your RUU version here, perhaps your current or a newer version will flash:

unfortunately the ota has already installed on the phone and its the latest version the ruu it the link you post are all earlier than 2.14 so i can't update it
if any body could help me to find away to s-off the phone and install revolutionary or clockwork mod or any other method from fastboot or using goldcard i'd appreciate that
am i in a very bad situation? !!!! .. is the phone totally bricked?
As you mentioned you are s-on that means you didn't try to root your phone. So your warranty is not void, best thing is if you r covered by it carrier warranty or take it to HTC it's not it fault. My advice not mess around u may completely brick it then it will not be covered under warranty.

Hello everybody, after trying to get to stock I've ended up in a peculiar situation, I have s-on but my hboot is also 1.23 so revolutionary can't helpe there. Is there any way that I can flash a firmware file apart from through the hboot method? Any way?
Stock ruu files don't work for me I always get unknown error 155 even though its the correct radio any everything.
Thanks
Not on 1.23, no fastboot commands, no exploit in that firmware. Sorry, to date no one has been able to change h boot from 1.23.

Hey guys, long time reader and first time poster. I have One X that I upgraded the firmware to 1.85 RUU. The bootloader is unlocked and rooted. Im trying to downgrade my firmware back to 182 but after I relock the bootloader and reboot the phone to run the 1.82 RUU, it wont get past the Hboot screen. The only way I can get the phone to work properly is to unlock the bootloader again. Any help would be greatly apperciated!!

Run the ruu from the bootloader or hboot screen. Should fix u up when downgrading I think you have to run from bootloader.. Are you supercid?
You need to run the ruu from the bootloader. You should be ok. You need to be in fastboot.

This is not a problem, it is perfectly normal. When you relock the bootloader you have to flash a RUU. You guys should know this before you mess with anything. Why can't you flash a RUU? Are you sure you are trying the correct one? And why did you even try to mess with it with a low battery?

Hi, I was trying to un-root my HTC Inspire and I managed to get it from S-OFF to S-ON, but now I have no recovery and whenever I turn on the phone, it's stuck on the white HTC screen...I am able to load into HBOOT though. How can I fix this? Is there a way to flash a new recovery from HBOOT?

What method did you use to unroot? If it was the hack kit then go back to the hack kit thread, look at the first post, find the info about the irc chat, then jump in for some assistance.
Hell jump in there anyways just to see. Maybe they will help.

I donĀ“t know how u did it, but in now that u are s-on, you will only be able to flash att's RUU. Flash that from fastboot and you should be fine.
So even if im S-ON, shouldn't I still be able to flash the PD98img.zip?

I had a similar problem I had to download the factory rom from the htc website. All you have to do is plug the phone to the computer follow directions you will have s- on also.

Hi guys,
I've got some ****y problem. So I was on Jelly Bean rom with revolutionary S-Off but wanted to have feature full phone and thought ok go back to stock (bad idea...)
So I followed a tutorial flashed Eng Hboot and wanted to restore with an O2 Gingerbread RUU. Everything worked fine until I got Error 140 (Bootloader failure)...Now I'm S-On but I don't have any rom on my phone so I'm stuck in recovery.
S-On
Hboot 0.98.0000
Radio 38.03.02.14_M
In my opinion I have to get a goldcard to flash a ruu on top of all that **** ^^ Buuut I can't boot so no ADB, hence I can't get my CID. Tried some tools to get CID via card reader but It didn't work for me.
Any Help, Suggestions? Help me to fix my android and avoid to buy an Iphone ^^
Cheers
main version check fail...that stopped the RUU
Have a go at fastboot, if that doesn't work it will need to be sent off to the repair center to be reprogrammed by JTAG experts.

I can enter fastboot and do commands that's not the problem. Sadly my hboot seems to be too low for htcdev unlock -.- ...And I don't know of any method to get ADB working in bootloader, fastboot, ...
Can you get into recovery from fastboot? If so, you can run ADB from there.

Why not trying to flash the ruu that suits your carrier,
Besides, it's best not to use eng-hboot in order to get back to s-on, imho,it's best to upgrade hboot to revolutionary 7.x after using revolutionary s-off, it's compatible with most 2.3.5ruus and custom roms.
I can get into recovery but it is stock recovery...and adb doesn't recognize my device while i'm in there ...
The ruu suits my carrier, as I said the signature check was true but the version check failed...i would need a newer o2 ruu but that doesn't exist
help me pls^^
Can you flash a custom recovery, such as 4EXT or CWM, using a PG88IMG zip file on your sdcard?
