[Q] One X stuck In Hboot after re-locking - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hey guys, long time reader and first time poster. I have One X that I upgraded the firmware to 1.85 RUU. The bootloader is unlocked and rooted. Im trying to downgrade my firmware back to 182 but after I relock the bootloader and reboot the phone to run the 1.82 RUU, it wont get past the Hboot screen. The only way I can get the phone to work properly is to unlock the bootloader again. Any help would be greatly apperciated!!

Run the ruu from the bootloader or hboot screen. Should fix u up when downgrading I think you have to run from bootloader.. Are you supercid?

You need to run the ruu from the bootloader. You should be ok. You need to be in fastboot.

This is not a problem, it is perfectly normal. When you relock the bootloader you have to flash a RUU. You guys should know this before you mess with anything. Why can't you flash a RUU? Are you sure you are trying the correct one? And why did you even try to mess with it with a low battery?

Urgent please. How do i return my phone to stock RUU from customer rom?

Hello,
I need to return my phone to stock really fast. Can anyone quickly tell me how to go from the leaked Cleanrom 3.1 to the 1.85 ruu that was released? Do i need to relock the bootloader? If so, how? Anything i need to do with CID?
Relock bootloader, then run the RUU.

That's all you need to do. Note that the RUU install will take a LONG time, longer than the 10 minutes it says it will take. This seems to be due to superCID
Worked like a charm. Thank you very much =). It did take a while.

phone stuck in bootloader mode

i relocked the bootloader on my phone and after it got relocked my phone just boots into bootloader mode and nothing else. anyone know how to fix this ?
have you tried clicking reboot in bootloader?
yes i did and power off and still just reboots to bootloader
im going to install 1.85 into the phone hopefully will make my phone boot up and not to bootloader
doin what i did worked like a charm phone is backk to stock and works like out of the box. in case someone else has the same problem this might help
I had the same issue but I couldn't get it to work by just running the 1.85 ruu. It just got stuck in bootloader even after I ran the ruu. I could only get out after re-unlocking. My base was 1.73 and I was trying to ruu to 1.85 from clean rom 4.5.

very simple to fix. The fact that you got to the "ready to unlock?" screen means the unlock token works.
go into settings on the phone go to power. Turn OFF fastboot.
Power off the phone completely.
Boot to bootloader
send the unlock.bin again
this time it will stick.

Sometimes the phone can get confused about its locked state.
To fix:
-Force reboot the phone. Hold the power button for 10+ seconds until bottom lights flash and then stop.
-Boot in to bootloader
Now force the phone to lock even if you think it is locked already.
-fastboot oem lock
-fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
Sending "fastboot oem lock" tends to get the phone back on the right track so it doesn't just keep rebooting in to a relocked state.
get into bootloader manually volume down + power.
Wow, so I've been under the impression that if I updated to 2.20 via the RUU that I couldn't do anything. I know my supercid is definitely 11111111. I can still unlock the bootloader if this is the situation? Root wouldn't happen though right?

yes root will happen.
unlock bootloader. Install twrp recovery. Flash the root package found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1673935
Thanks so much gunny. One quick question. I got the bootloader unlocked without a problem. Now, twrp recovery...can I just do that through GooManager, or should I do it another way?

I think you may have to use fastboot flash recovery recovery.img because of the new limitations of the new HBOOT. It might be only for boot.imgs though
That worked rohan32 Thanks so much to both of you. Now I have an unlocked bootloader and TWRP installed. Going for root now. Thank you thank you thank you! You guys have saved me from wanting another phone!
[EDIT]Rooted as well. Again, thank you both so much!
thanks everyone i solved my problem.dint except quick replies from you guys.

If you stay away from the AT&T cid you will be fine.
In theory things could change but at the moment so long as you have super cid prior to RUU flashing you will be fine.
OK I just got my AT&T HOX today and from what I've read hear there is no way to root it? Since I have 2.20.502.7 710RD but if I use super cid I can flash roms?
Without root you can't get super Cid

[Q] Another bricked one s

Hi all, im looking for a bit of help in recovering my orange uk one s. I had unlocked the bootloader, rooted and installed cwm mod recovery without any problems.
I decided i wanted to do the ota 4.04 update which is where my problems started. I read that you needed to restore stock recovery and relock the bootloader to do this, which i did and now the phone wont boot
I can access the bootloader and recovery ok and can unlock and relock the bootloader ok. I still have the original cwm back up i made when i first rooted the phone, have tried to restore this without any joy.
There doesent seem to be a an orange uk ruu out there which would be the easiest way to recover the phone and im presuming i need the phone up and running properly to change to super cid to install a general ruu.
Does anyone out there have any ideas or suggestions to help me restore my phone ?
I know this has been posted before but i have spent the last two days going round in circles trying to fix this, any help greatly appreciated

boot into bootloader
unlock bootloader if you haven't alredy unlocked it
install twrp recovery (because its better than CWM with S-ON)
change your CID to Super CID or a Generic one like "HTC_001"
install stock recovery
relock bootloader
Install European RUU.
It's not bricked if you can get into the bootloader or if the screen turns on.
A brick is what it says, the screen doesn't turn on, nothing works, not the bootloader, not recovery, nothing.

is there a newer RUU that you can run on your device?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094414
The only tips that I have are
put back stock recovery on your phone if you have changed it. (you will have to unlock bootloader to do this)
relock bootloader.
OH, and one time even though usb debugging was checked on the phone, I had to uncheck it and check it again before the ruu worked.
Will relocking bootloader automatically restore stock recovery? Cause I am trying to return to stock from S-off back to S-on and I am following this guide but in the HTC One S toolkit, the recovery section doesn't have a stock recovery to flash. I can use some help with this also, I want to see if returning phone to stock will fix signal drop issues and if not I will have to return it on insurance. My biggest problems are I do not have an RUU from my carrier so could use some advice as to which one to use? here is the link for RUU's but there isn't one for Cincinnati Bell wireless.
You need S-OFF
