Phone rings one time - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys.
Trouble with the phone, the phone rings only once and goes silent mode, can somebody come across this and solved the problem.
He would put different firmware, the result is not changed.
Regards

I have the same problem, would appreciate a fix

This problem has to do with the sound file that you are using. The sound file is missing android_loop metatag if it is only ringing once. If the ringtone doesn't loop in the preview on your phone then it is missing the tag. You can check for the tag on your computer by opening it with vlc player and go to tools->media information->metadata. Here's instructions to add the tag to whatever file you want I find on Google. I used it myself to get my ringtone to loop.
- Download and install Audacity (audacity.sourceforge.net)
- Open the ringtone file in Audacity, note you can use mp3/wav files as well, Audacity can convert them into OGG.
- Select Open Metadata Editor for the File Menu
- Add a new tag called ANDROID_LOOP and set the value to 'true'.
- Click OK
- Select Export from the File Menu and select the Save As Type format as Ogg Vorbis Files.
- Click OK through File Save and Metadata dialogue window.
- Copy the new ringtone file onto your phone.

But the problem is when it on vibrate! It vibrates once then switches to silent mode. A me development is that it plays sounds even in silent mode

Sound and Notifications on MDA Vario

HI
Before i start i have checked other posts, but no one seems to be having the problem that i am having.
I have a .wav file called Mail.wav i place it in the windows directory of my mda vario. I go to the sounds and notification program make sure enable sound for events and programs are selected. go to the notfication tab and choose an event. I then find my wav file in the drop down list box. i select it. when i try to play it through the play icon, no sound is heard. when i try to play any of the other default sounds from the drop down list , they all play correctly.
My wav file is ok there is nothing wrong with it, becuase when i play it through the vario's media player i hear the sound correctly.
Any ideas
Thanks in advance
williad
Don't know how to solve your problem but you could try converting your wav to mp3 or wma and copy them to Windows/Rings and try again.
HI
Thanks
tried that didnt work. I think for notifications you need to put the sound file in the windows directory. That way they appear in your drop down list. I just cant understand that the sound file plays ok in th e windows media player , but not when you click the play button on the notification screen.

I don't have your unit, but I remember having the same problem some where with some poorly written software.
Copy one of the 'ok'(playable) sound-file (WAV) from your PPC to your PC. Right click on it and then select Properties -> Summary (Advance). Double check the information inside (i.e. Bit Rate, Audio Sample size, Sample rate etc). [ I'm not sure you can just do it in your PPC ]. Try confirm that both the 'ok' and 'non-ok' ones are having the identical properties. If not, try to make them match see if this helps.
hi.
thank you for the tip
did as you suggested and found out that the notifications are in .pcm format. I downloaded one of the audio conversion tools .and performed the conversion into the associative .pcm format. placed the conversion into the windows directory of the device. I went to the notification screen selected the sound file from the drop down menu . pressed play and it WORKED . can't thank you enough for your help
loving the vario even more

[Request] Audiko.net Ringtone Downloader App

There was an app for the iPhone in cydia that allowed you to preview and download ringtones from audiko straight to the phone.
I was wondering if there was anybody that could make an app like that for android.
I would gladly buy the paid app or donate for a free app that has the following features.
1. Chose from the different versions of each ringtone.
2. Preview ringtone (stream it).
3. Download ringtone straight to either the phone or sdcard ringtone dir.
4. Once downloaded have the option to set the ringtone as default or assign to a contact download only from within the app.
5. An option to pick songs in the phones music library to trim into custom ringtone. Maybe even an option to upload the custom created ringtone to audiko.net
Thanks in advanced,
Rick

[Q] Browser streams mp3 instead of allowing me to save.

I'm having this problem and it is very frustrating. When I go to this site:
http://theblogof.rosscbrown.co.uk/2007/02/ctu-ringtone-from-24/
on my phone and try to donwload the first mp3 link, it decides to automagically stream the mp3 and play it.
Instead I want to save the file so i can use it as a ringtone. I have astro file manager and enabled the browser downloads, it doesn't help. I have used Download Crutch, and that didn't work either. At one point I had Winamp installed but all that did was give me a different option to stream the file.
I'm aware I can download the file on my PC and transfer it, but I want to avoid this. When I longpress on the link and save link, it starts to download some random *.bin file instead, which is nothing but a script to download the file.
It used to work fine until I updated to EE19 stock. This is a clean slate, I wanted to start fresh since I had performance issues before. How i change the behavior of mp3's? Seldom do I want to hear them, I'm usually clicking on them so i can save.
Thanks! Very frustrated as I can't seem to find a solution anywhere
If you long press the link does it give you the option to save it?
Try a different browser. xScope, Miren, Maxthon, Dolphin, all are great and have the ability to download media files instead of playing them.
I have tried Stock, Opera, Dolphin, and Firefox. Some open the media file in their own player, but none of them give me the option to save the file. I believe the link is a redirect to a download, so the link itself is to a script that serves the file. I want the behavior to happen when the file is being opened to automatically ask me to save it instead of play it.
The link to download the mp3 is actually pointing to...
http://theblogof.rosscbrown.co.uk/?dl_id=4
So, as you can see it's not a mp3 file, but it results in that after the script points it to that. If I right click and save target as on my PC i get the mp3 file.

So do it on your PC and transfer it to your sd card.
Have you tried changing up the "user agent" settings in any of the browsers?
Tried editing the User Agent setting but it didn't change the behavior. I think opening an MP3 in a browser automatically triggers to stream the file instead of treating it like other files where you have the option to download them.
Need an app that acts as an MP3 file player but instead brings up a dialog to save it to sdcard.
I could have downloaded it on my PC and put it on the SD card (which I did) but the problem remains, if im laying in bed trying to do this, I do not want to get up and go turn my PC on just to download an MP3.
Thanks for all the help... I'll keep digging.
Try resetting the defaults in settings>applications>manage apps. When you open the file it should ask what you wanna use to complete the action. Choose browser and it should start downloading. This was the case with videos on certain sites. May work for this as well. Hope this helps

downloading music
I had the same issue, i downloaded the app called "downlad all files" then when I go to things in the stock browser and click on a file it will ask me to open up in browser and when it does it download the mp3 files automatically.
That is a godsend of an app. I will stand by that one any day of the week.

Ringtone changing and choosing

Hello, I have a new oneplus 6 as my first oneplus phone and I would like to ask you if there is better option to change ringtone instead of scrolling among plenty of music (I got about 800 songs) in the default chooser. Is there any option to choose directly a folder or even a music without scrolling as it is as default? I have tried choosing ringtone via poweramp but ringtone option is grey; unavailable.

I use an app called ringdroid. It has a search function and an easy to use interface to crop songs on internal storage for notification, calls and alarms. It saves them in your media folder.
Ok, so it means there is no option to do it by default and we have to use third-party app right?
U can select local ringtone and chose something from your playlist but there's not a built in program to crop your songs to make ringtones

It doesn't have a search function, but you can select to have only short media files selected. There's nothing built in though, unfortunately.
That's the lure of 1+.
Why put a bunch of apps in it that the majority will never use. If u want something, grab it out of the PS.
