Ringtone changing and choosing - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

Hello, I have a new oneplus 6 as my first oneplus phone and I would like to ask you if there is better option to change ringtone instead of scrolling among plenty of music (I got about 800 songs) in the default chooser. Is there any option to choose directly a folder or even a music without scrolling as it is as default? I have tried choosing ringtone via poweramp but ringtone option is grey; unavailable.

I use an app called ringdroid. It has a search function and an easy to use interface to crop songs on internal storage for notification, calls and alarms. It saves them in your media folder.

Ok, so it means there is no option to do it by default and we have to use third-party app right?

U can select local ringtone and chose something from your playlist but there's not a built in program to crop your songs to make ringtones

It doesn't have a search function, but you can select to have only short media files selected. There's nothing built in though, unfortunately.

That's the lure of 1+.
Why put a bunch of apps in it that the majority will never use. If u want something, grab it out of the PS.

Why custom ringtones won't work - One answer for you

Seen this asked about in a couple different threads so throught I'd drop a quick answer to this issue that I discovered.
If you are using a third party music player on your PPC, like Pocket Music, and allow it to associate file types .wma and/or .mpg with itself, then custom ringtones stop working with the phone. You can still select the tones from the drop down menu in the phone cpl but will not be able to test them and the phone will default to a standard tone when you exit the cpl. You will have to unassociate them through the music player app setings and soft reset, thrn everything should work fine.
Hope this helps.

I know this is a hell of an old post but thanks. I came across this post when I was like after installing mortplayer and my custom ringtones were screwing up.

[Request] Audiko.net Ringtone Downloader App

There was an app for the iPhone in cydia that allowed you to preview and download ringtones from audiko straight to the phone.
I was wondering if there was anybody that could make an app like that for android.
I would gladly buy the paid app or donate for a free app that has the following features.
1. Chose from the different versions of each ringtone.
2. Preview ringtone (stream it).
3. Download ringtone straight to either the phone or sdcard ringtone dir.
4. Once downloaded have the option to set the ringtone as default or assign to a contact download only from within the app.
5. An option to pick songs in the phones music library to trim into custom ringtone. Maybe even an option to upload the custom created ringtone to audiko.net
Thanks in advanced,
Rick

[Q] [REQ] [CM Sync] Windows/MAC program to Sync with CyanogenMOD (like iTunes)

I have been diggin into xda to see what I could do about syncing my nedia into my device using itunes or something like that and found this post:

I like the sound of this.
there are lots of people who slate iTunes, but after having an iPhone and moving to Android. I would suggest that people have not used iTunes fully. My wish list
Program
Links to podcasts (text, mp3 and video)
Option to auto download podcasts as above
Integrated music player
Integrated music ripper
Folder updater for album art, meta data etc
Integrated video player
Integrated video ripper
Plug phone in
Option to auto start a program
Option to auto sync
Option to auto check for update
So far if I want an auto sync comparable to iTunes I need a music client, video client podcast client and for backups, I need to root my phone and do it on my phone.
It is easier to have these clients on my phone but still not as easy.
Cyanogen mod do have an updates button in the settings. This could be given a short cut on the home screen. One click (check), one click accept. Phone auto reboots and updates. I believe this is only set up for release candidates though.
The confirm bit on cwm. in the clock work mod folder add a file called
.noconfirm
if I remember correctly this gets rid of the multiple no, no, no, no etc.

What do you guys think about that? Any developer could explain if is possible and viable? I really like to keep my library in order, with album art, songs named correctly, etc and it could be awesome to just sync a Playlist from iTunes into the phone and keep it synced everytime i plugin the phone.
The steps would be like that:
Open iTunes and set your library up with covers and music info
Create a new playlist with all the music you want into your CyanogenMOD Android Device
Open the CM Sync (name sugestion) and select which (one or more) playlist you want to keep synced into your device
Let it sync and we are done.
CM Sync could have more option too, for example:
Auto updater for official supported phones using the built-in updater script of CyanogenMOD;
Organize launcher icons
Simple video converter to make sure you dont put a video with more pixels than you have on your phone
(Can you guys make more suggestions?)

Disable Audio Ducking

I'm wondering of there is an easy effort that I can do to disable the volume duck that occurs when I receive a notification (while listening to music)
Some ROMs have a setting g for this, but I'm wondering if someone could direct me to the proper file I might edit and turn this feature OFF..
I like my notification sound to just play over the music, or just not bother me..
Thx.

Pretty sure this has to do with what app you're using for playing music, and whether it uses the mediaplayer of your device or it's own custom one.
it's true, I hated the ducking but was able to disable it in PowerAMP settings.

Yeah, PowerAMP uses its own media service.
Is there a music player that has this feature that doesn't cost money? I'll pay for Poweramp if there isn't. VLC for Android, for instance, doesn't have this feature.
Edit: After some trial and error with various programs, I've discovered that MX Player plays back audio without ducking, but a drawback is that it doesn't have dynamic playlist creation capabilities (you need your files ordered in folders). It also plays Opus files, which is something that I was also looking for.
Another app, Rocket Player, will let you choose *between* ducking and pausing (under Settings->Sound->Audio Focus->Temp Focus Action), but it won't let you disable the action completely. That being said, I've found that for audio books and podcasts, I actually prefer pausing to ducking or no ducking, so I like Rocket Player in this respect (same goes with Poweramp).
guys,COS 12+ has this option in their OS. the question is there any xposed modules to do the same action like in COS ?? ( I'm not sure if it's available in CM12+ roms or not ) any idea?
Dirty unicorn have this feature and its working great.
