Hi all,
I recently removed google keyboard via titanium backup to be able to install the new L apk. However, I'm now trying to flash the OTA from 4.4.3 to 4.4.4 and I'm getting the error saying "/system/app/latinimegoogle.apk has unexpected contents".
I've tried restoring my backup in titanium backup, with no luck. Does anyone know what I can do here? Maybe somehow flash just the stock keyboard or something?
Thanks

Any modification will break OTAs. Just download one of the flashable zips for 4.4.4 and dirty flash it right over.
thanks

Does anybody have a complete ROM (any 2.3.1, 2.3.2)? If you restore from a backup drive that is downloadable here and do a root, so my wifi error reports. Prior to root everything is OK.
Thanks and sorry for my english.

There is a Nandroid backup for 2.3.1 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=883 you can use one of this to return to stock and then root again.
There is also a backup for 2.3.2 in the development section.

Hi,
i need to create a backup of my phone. How can I do that? I tried that tool, but on backup it just updated me a new firmware.
Thanks...
Edit: Tried agian, now i seems to be working
Few months back i flashed CM9 ROM by Elypson3 on my Moto Defy.Presently there is a new version of that ROM which i downloaded and flashed.I have Nandroid Backup of the previous ROM.After flashing the updated version of that ROM i am getting ROOT problems using Superuser. When i use the ALLOW all app the root permissions in Superuser, the apps does not allow the root(Tested onany apps including Titanium Backup Pro),but when i use the PROMT option in Superuser settings, the root works on all apps when i tap ALLOW button on promt.
Is there any problem in ROM or i have to ROOT my phone again? Also if anyone can post some simple steps to flash ROM freshly(like a very new ROM and not including a single bit of data from previous versions, like wiping data etc.) would be really helpful.
Go into superuser app & check for update. You can try to unroot, reboot, & reroot. Play around how you like, since you (smartly) made a backup.

I don't know what SFB is, but I'm guessing you need it for the ROM to work on your phone? In that case, ROM first.
Nandroid backs up your whole phone's internal memory, so restoring will take you back to whatever state your phone was in when you made the backup. The contents of your SD card are not included in the backup.

I am running a 4.1.2. stock root and have not taken the 4.3 OTA update. I would like to update to 4.3 via Cyanogenmod 10.2, but the problem I have is how do I transfer app data from one to the other? When I flashed CM 10.2 and tried to restore with Titanium Backup, it could restore the apps, but not the data. Any ideas? Am I missing something?
Thank you.

make sure your phone is rooted! download SuperSu from the market and install it. Once it rooted you should able to restore data with Titanium BU.

All that was done, but for some reason I can't restore the data. I vaguely remember reading something about not being able to transfer data from a 4.1.2 ROM to one that is on 4.3.
Hi All,
I have an o2 UK 6039Y on Lollipop and want to upgrade to MM. OTA won't work with this version. So far I managed to root, install TWRP and recover fastboot commands (they were missing). I have not seen any official MM roms on the forum, there are some like:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/development/rom-android-6-0-1-marshmallow-t3397546
https://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/general/rom-6-0-1-version-010-01-kernel-3-10-49-t3518041
Can someone explain to me please if I'm going to lose root, TWRP and fastboot by using the above? I assume you do with the first link and then it is hard to get these back, but I would not with the second link? I am after as stock experience as possible, using the phone for work and I need stuff to just work. Also if anything goes wrong or I can't use any apps I will need, will I be able to restore the backups of Lollipop I have taken with TWRP to roll back to Lollipop?
Many thanks in advance, if this has been covered somewhere please send me links, I've been reading the forum for about 24 hours and getting dizzy now
Ps Does anyone know how to get rid of the ugly o2 splash screen on boot?
Hi!
If you use the second link ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/general/rom-6-0-1-version-010-01-kernel-3-10-49-t3518041 ):
*need twrp 3.0.0-0 or above to flash it
* fastboot - ok
* Loose root but can be rooted thrue TWRP
*It have TWRP
.
Thanks for confirming, I'll give it a go later on today. Btw if I need to restore the old system, do I need to restore the system image partition or only system and data? not sure which partitions are being overwritten when flashing a different os version...

Backup those two in Recovery. If you want your data back, Backup /data. If not just backup /system. You might have to factory reset the phone though. Again, might.
ended up using Person78 script to do the full backup. Flashed his Rom, all working well.
Thanks folks
