Searched but couldn't find a answer.. Since the nexus 5 and g2 are pretty close in pricing now, has anyone tried a international GSM rom on it? I've read you have to flash a tmo stock kernel on top of it. Thanks!

I am currently on Sprint running an Evo 4g with ICS and had a few questions about the Nexus 4s.Are any of the ICS roms for this fully functional? (4g,camera,video,google wallet) I figured with the ota that went out and got pulled perhaps all of these things work. Also if I buy one used is there any software versions that are not rootable yet?
Thanks

Hi,
I spent last night getting my t-mobile galaxy s4 to work on ATT. I did a lot of research on the subject and it wasn't that difficult at all. I bought the phone off of EBAY.
I was able to accomplish this from all of the tools here and a little research. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335109
The first thing i did was root the phone and install CWM. I then used the sim unlock found in the link above. The next step i took (because i like custom roms on my phone) was to install TASK650's AOKP rom. I flashed the rom and followed his instructions.
After the restart, I went through the welcome screen and shut the phone down. I put my sim in and started the phone. I noticed i was getting the H, but no LTE. This led me to more research. The fix was easy once I found it. The APN needs to be pointed to the ATT phone option. It defaults to wap.cingular. After about 5 minutes and a reboot the LTE appeared and after the speed tests confirmed.
This is not a guide. I am just sharing my experience. If you do this please do your own research as you can do damage to your phone. There are risks involved, flash and modify your phone at your own risk.
Just wondering, why did you get a tmobile s4 to use with att? Normally the att version can be found for cheaper price

I am confused here, what is it you were trying to accomplish? running a att rom on your tmo device? Because you say you have a tmo phone.
Why go thru all that, when this rom is already setup to work on tmo with the tmo apn settings already setup for you.
[ROM] Task650 AOKP (Jellybean 4.2.2)(6.26.2013)
Do you new people just go and see a rom you like, in any forum, and do not look in your devices forum and flash it? if so, your are asking to brick your phones.

If you want an unlocked bootloader, can't you just install the custom recovery?

so i recently flashed my i727r with rogers to work with wind mobile in my area and everything works fine expect i get 3/4 bars signal when i walk around but the second i enter my house all my bars instantly drop to 0 and never return. i've tried multiple radios and i get the same exact thing this is making absolutely no sense to me at all. anyone have an insight on why this might be happening. also i have been reading about flashing more can anyone tell me what the benifits of changing a kernel does and what it does exactly.

I read a few article stating the LG g3 will be releasing lollipop before the year is over... It also stated that it would be the LG version of lollipop and then att will have to test and change it to their version and that can take a few months... So my question is if we will be able to flash the universal version before att get their hands on it or will we have to wait till att modifies it for the D850

we will likely get it way before ATT releases it. Someone will mod the international rom for ATT.

I really hope so cuz that would be great... To have lollipop before Samsung and many others will make me feel like I definitely made the right choice!

Short answer, no one knows. We don't even have aosp Roms yet so to think about even speculate on a time frame for an unreleased android version is stupid. We'll get it at some point. Just be happy we've finally got roms

I guess u must have not fully understood the question... I was not asking for a time frame or when will we have lollipop... The question was if it is possible to take the LG update that they send to unlocked carrier phones and modify it for our att phone... Or will we have to wait for an att update and modify that... Different question

Short answer: an int'l version will be ported before you see an official ATT release.

Will rooting with stump make it impossible to accept an ota upgrade when lollipop is released? I remember with my galaxy nexus, it was changing the bootloader that did that.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Rumor has it that it will be harder to get around the bootloader situation with L. My suggestion is to NOT take the ota and just flash what ever L Rom is ported if you want to keep root. At least until the devs figure out the new features on android L.
Plus, being on AT&T, we wouldn't see an ota until well after everyone else Lmao.

Cm12!!!
I have loaded CM12 on my "burner" G3 a few times (updating every night.) It is quite flaky, but it is good to see progress being made. RIght now the issue with CM12 is that one of the cores gets stuck at 100% (some say due to an NFC issue) and sucks your battery dry.
