Yes it is. Or at lest, its a user problem. Post in the Android L Q&A thread, although teh answer should be to flash userdata, img from developer preview or stock factory image

Flash userdata.img, cache.img and then perform a factory reset from the stock recovery. This should fix it.

[SOLVED]HELP : no operating system on my htc one s

hello guys , last night i tried rooting my phone and then installing a custom rom. i unlocked the bootloader , flashed custom recovery , and then Perm-rooted it. everything went well. then i tried to install custom rom and the dialog windows on my computer said ``its finished , enjoy trickdroid.``
so i rebooted the device and after that problems started. i couldnt get past htc welcome screen , the one with the normal eroor message with red letters (this system is for development purposes only..). i tried a few times again , but still nothing. so i went on internet to see how to recover from this , and i did everything by the book. i wiped delvik cache , normal cache and factory reset. even after that problem persisted. so i wiped system (ROM) and now i am left without system on my phone. i still cant get past that welcome screen with error message , and only thing i can do is boot into bootloader and recovery. PLS HELP , what do i need to do. this was my first rooting and i bricked it... THX
Go in recovery. Wipe cache and dalvic. Wipe system. Wipe factory reset. Install zip from sd card ( rom)
Reboot into bootloader. Flash the boot.img from the rom with fastboot. And then reboot and enjoy.
Maybe you can check of you have s3 or s4 processor before you flash anything. Greetz

ty, i did as you said. i mounted sd card on my copmuter , but now i cant acces it , windows doesnt let me before i ``format it``. ``You need to format the disk drive before you can use it`` message apears. Is it okay for me to do that?
Can't help you with that. Never tried that..
Di you make backup of your original rom in recovery?
Or you can try to run a ruu from your computer and try everything again...

You can check football's ville/ville c2 collection thread. You need ruu from c2
You can run it from Windows with your phone plugged in with usb cable.

no mate , i still havent copied my zip file to my sd card , because i need to format it before i can copy anything from my computer to phone. windows doesnt let me do anything before it formats it. the only question i need answered is : is it safe for me to format ``Removable Disk I:``(my phone) so i can then copy my zip file on my phone? ty
Either PM me or hit me up on gtalk - [email protected] and I will help you out and yes it is safe.

CWM & TWRP cannot access anything in recovery.

Hi all,
just bought HTC Butterfly X920D 3 days ago from a guy. I realise he has root this device bcos I cannot do OTA update. System check download the update but failed to install. After that I search for a fix n found CWM & Rom manager. I flashed recovery & try to apply the update manually buy CWM says E:Cant mount sdcard, can access cache, blocking device required. Then I look for another fix and arrived here. After all that mess, I tried to factory reset the device via setting in phone is but after resetting n restarts, my HTC is entering recovery again and I opted from the menu selected "boot systems now". It booted andall the contents is still there!
Looks like the reset function isn't working anymore. Any suggestions on what I shud do?
Thx on advance. Cheers
you have to install the original recovery before applying the OTA.
I have it here
Flash it via bootloader

Thanks for the answer but u didn't read what I wrote. I've downloaded one from sammobile but it contains only PDA file and after installation it gets stuck in SAMSUNG logo and doesn't turn on. Someone told me that I need a ROM with all PIT,PDA,CSC files to downgrade. And thats what Im asking for - for a rom with all the three files.

You're on 4.2.2 and want to revert to 4.1.2.When you flash the stock 4.1.2,go to stock recovery and make a factory reset and then wipe cache partition.

No SD card

So I installed one of the Android L previews and now for some reason I now when I download something from Chrome or take a picture I get a message saying no SD card. Is there a way to fix this?

This.
You have to completely wipe everything including internal storage as L formats/reads it different somehow.

yes, you have to reformat it or go to settings-->backup & reset---->factory data reset---->erase everything/ erase phone storage, it will reset and reboot. you will get your phone storage formatted. check partitions using titanium backup.

If u don't mind, back up ur current rom and data in phone storage, flash stock kk rom using flash tool, root and get superuser for supersu, install philz latest recovery and take back up of rom, follow the procedure carefully and restore stock kk rom from back up.
While rebooting, recovery will ask to root your device, click yes.
Procedure working exactly, if it says phone storage damaged, coz philz recovery is unable to format sdcard0 i.e. phone storage, so reformat it.
