[HOW TO][ANY ROM] Detailed Install and Configure Halo

Here's my personal more detailed guide on how to install halo and configure it for any rom Yes I know there are other guides but I thought i'd give a more detailed one
Doesn't work on touchiz btw
1. Install Floating Notifications and enable it in the Accesibility menu.
2. Select the box labeled "Launch Apps in Halo Mode"

3. Go to the app notifications menu and check which ones you want it to notify you for. HINT: if you want a real halo experience the rightmost icon in the app list will make the icon stay floating.
4. This is a personal preference: Go to Customize in Floating Notifications and select "Dock after a few seconds of inactivity" and then at the bottom set "Amount of the icon hidden when docked:" to 55%. If it is more than 55% then you will have trouble clicking the stack.
5. REBOOT PHONE.
Now for the Xposed part.
1. Install Xposed Framework
2. REBOOT PHONE.
3. Go into Xposed Installer and go to "Downloads" and select XHaloFloatingWindow, and then install it.
4. REBOOT PHONE.
5. Go into Xposed Installer and go into "Modules" and check the box "XHaloFloatingWindow".
6. For safe measure REBOOT PHONE. And then you're done
Lemme know if y'all need any help!
Also on the reboots it hung on the splash for a while.
Oh yeah not responsible if your device catches fire.
While I have only tested this on a Htc One and Htc Evo 4G Lte it should work for any device/rom out there!

Same here. Can't pin. Is there some other way to do this?
Not very Halo if I can't pin any apps.
Everything else works fine, except resizing windows, which is somehow broken for me, so I just switched it off.
EDIT: Solved.
The pin icon is there, just off-screen.
Turn your phone to landscape and you'll be able to see it.

Apps open in normal mode instead of floating window
Floating Notification works. i can add apps and pin them but somehow the applications open the normal way and not in xhalo floating window. there's no difference if xhalo floating windows is installed or not.
Running 4.4 on my HTC One GPE, latest xposed beta with xhalo floating windows module loaded.

I can't open apps in halo mode anymore for example i try to launch whatsapp (with floating notifications) then nothing happens and i get an fc of whatsapp.. do you know any fixes?

This has a big bug
First it works well, all the apps open normally and the first notification that FN catches opens as floating window, perfect.
But.. once one notification has opened as floating window, then the rest of apps opened until reboot (including launcher apps, etc) will open also as floating windows
Any fix for this?

i didn't do anything different and got it to work on my note 2.
could be because i'm on 4.3 though.

Just flashed on my gnexus and works well, so far. :good:

[APP] Google Now Launcher Android L mod (Working "Ok Google" hotword)

I modded the original Google Search apk from Play Store for adding the new Android L material drawables as well as the new voice command sounds.
I know there's a thread showing how to enable material design on the Android L launcher from the system dump, but that will probably not fully work on your device (No "Ok Google" hotword and Google Now issues). This is the regular version from Play Store modded to look exactly like the actual Android L launcher.

Im still looking for one that allows grid size changes like Nova launcher. I dont like KK launcher at all.

You could have used L's launcher for the mod.
But nvm, its still great, congrats.

That's what I actually did. I took my resources from the .apk in the system dump.

Oh, ok.
Then nvm. Congrats on the APP.
Followed what you said, but it didnt work.
The launcher still uses the old drawer.

It works perfectly for me. You probably didn't remove the old app. Did you follow all my instructions?

Yeah, i did that, but then GoogleHome force closes, and i cant use it unless i install another Google Search, or both doesnt get installed.
Tried again, now it doesnt detect Velvet (Google Search), it says it needs a newer version.

For me it works

To get the different app drawer icon change
ro.build.version.codename=REL
To
ro.build.version.codename=L
In the build.prop. But unfortunately the status bar becomes opaque.
Also, I'm getting gmail and email FCing.

I've tried this in other treads with no luck, but can someone please extract the white app drawer icon for me?

Tried and retried, same results, google search doesnt work. And thus, GNow launcher doesnt either.

Here no need to change anything, it's a modded version of the regular Search app you find on Play Store.

And how do we get the new buttons from the Android L? I mean the home,back and recents?
Last seen in a distant galaxy...

for those who have this problem, install this version of google search, the version of Android L is 3.5.13, an this is 3.5.14, this works fine

There are many themes that use that navbar, you can find them here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes

So there's no way to make the status bar transparent?

Guys, I think I know how to fix the problems: you have to delete the app data of Google search. Then it works.

Ok, reinstalled everything and it worked well.
Thanks for that themed launcher (However, you could have used GNow Launcher 1.1, not just the resources)

Now that I've flashed this I can't uninstall it ! I can't use the features on my phone. How do I uninstall all this ? Now when I use the google now feature I get "google now has stopped working" I have tried deleting the data and cache but it still gives me the error. I deleted the date before I flashed but that's it.

Here straight of the art simple tool to activate missing quick panel toggles in one click.
How to use :
Requires rooted device.
First Uninstall existing older version if you have installed)
1.Download Attached App and Install as regular apk.
2.Open application from drawer.
3.Install resource - Grant SU (requires one time Only)
4.Once it finish, reboot device
Above steps requires first time only untill you re flash ROM.
5.Open App and select 'Activate Toggles (Common 25 - See screenshot above)
6.Once you finish It will open Notification Panel and you just needs to select RESET
7.Done !
Now you will have common 25 Toggles (Some toggles may not appear/Work) depending on ROM features.
PRO Version
PRO version is nearly same but user will have option to select desired Toggle only.You can choose any number of toggles (0 to 40 see screenshot above for choice of toggles.)
Get Pro Version
PS : Make 'Setting storage' backup in case you want to undo changes.

What can be done about TW LOLLIPOP removing the ability we had with KitKat to gesture (or button) expand notification and quick toggle screens from launcher home screens?
This worked well with Nova Launcher to expand notification with second click of home button (default home screen then expand), Nova Prime to one finger swipe down to expand notification screen on home screen, and one finger swipe up to expand quick toggles on home screen.
Lollipop limits the gesture to top of screen.
For those interested, Nova Launcher is fixing this soon. Just ran the beta version; it's good.

It will work on kitkat too. I have tested on my N4 kitkat and working fine.
But remember this will activate Toggle. Functionality of Toggle depends on rom features.

Enable it if you have disabled and then try to download resource again.

If you have titanium then simply clear data from setting storage. (not settings)

I have seen many users asking how to keep stock icons with custom theme from theme store or some users don't want to theme keyboard or messaging or settings etc.
So here made small tool with which you can remove different up to 16 parts of themes and can use those stuff from stock.
What you can prevent theming
Clock
Calendar
Contacts
Email
Gallery
Icons
Keyboard
Message
Memo
Music
MyFiles
Phone
Settings(Including framework part)
Wallpaper
Weather
UI
How to use :
Instruction already there in tool itself. Simply select application from box with scrolling and tap on it to remove theme part of that application. for example you select keyboard and tap on it, keyboard theme will be removed. you have to do same for all apps you require.
Keep in mind you need to reboot device after using tool and have to re apply theme.
Download & Installation :
Download and Install Partial Theme *.apk and install as regular app. Requires ROOTED device

Try again and look in instructions you have not missed something. I don't see any reason for not working on edge+

Nothnig on the box to select and i already select stock theme.

May be you are doing something wrong. When you scroll over box you will see different options, select one and tap on it. On successful applying you will see notification like " ** theme removed"
Now restart device - apply themes and see selected part will remain stock.

i usually do i t manually or simply mod the single apk(to keep only few parts of the theme x app)

I would love an app to compine themes.. Eg to have settings from one theme, and dialer from another.
I read somewhere here how this can been done, but it is a real pain. If an app could been done for doing this easier it would be fantastic.

It's not in this app, so you have to do it manually (untested):
1. Using a file explorer, go to data/overlays/jsonfiles/userjson and find the theme you want to keep stock lock
2. Make a backup in a sub folder
3. Open file and hit the edit button!
4. Look for this line a little ways down:
"lock": "com.*.lock",
and delete it!
5. Save file and reboot!

And so do I, I was thinking to asking about that. That would be awesome. There are many beautiful themes here and some themes are very beautiful but the phone, dialer, contact apps don't have good look. Please Dr. Ketan is it possible to do that ? Thank you

Open app Cloner and go to APK section.
Add the launcher apk given.
After it finishes loading up change the name from ONE UI Home to ONE UI 2.
Click on the floating button and press install.

What are the benefits of having it ? Are there any great features ? I'm using nova launcher which is brilliant because you can customise more.

will this allow a sprint note 9 to be able to run Dex on PC?

appcloner wont clone the apk. says its already cloned to try the original and that its not the version for my device(sprint not 8)

is there any oneui home mod with more number of columns for e.g. 5x7 or 5x8 instead of default 5x6

Instructions
Download the apks given below.
Install App Cloner given below.
Open app Cloner and go to APK section.
Add the launcher apk given.
After it finishes loading up change the name from ONE UI Home to ONE UI 2.
Click on the floating button and press install.
After Installing the modified apk Open settings then navigate to apps and set ONE UI 2 as the default app for home screen.
Give Required Permissions in the Permissions Tab.
Done. Enjoy ONE UI 2 Launcher on PIE
Bugs
Open quick settings by swiping down doesn't work.
Hide apps function doesn't work.
There is a small delay when renaming app folders in app drawer.

Usage of appcloner breaks something in the apk file that break themes, icons do not change, clearing of cache is required for icon change to reflect, also some icons do not change
Had similar issue with my modded OneUi launcher with 6x8 or 6x9 app drawer

I appreciate ur effort to get one ui 2 to android pie but i m sorry to tell u this isn't working. I followed ur steps to install app clojer n then the one ui 2 Launcher. It was installed without any error.
But when i pressed home button, it gave me option to change the Launcher. On clicking ONE UI 2 launcher, it crashed. My ohine was stuck amd APP CLONER gave notification for ONE UI CRASHED!!!
Attempt to invoke Java virtual method something!!!!
I am attaching the screenshot!!!
I don't know what is it ols have a look and help me understand the crash message!!
