PLEASE! guys add anamorph conversion vertical to horizontal. It would be great to watching 3d movies with Google Cardboard (can't post links, i tried) and mx player.
and second problem to watching videos - aspect ratio. I cant' do right aspect so image vertical extended.
Thanks very much, i hope you'll do it.
Will you work at this feature or not?
You can change aspect ratio in the playback menu:
When playing a video: menu -> display -> aspect ratio

thanks a lot for help, i find it.
but how about vertical anamorph ---> horizontal conversion?
Not sure exactly what you mean regarding Google Cardboard and vertical anamorphic. Could you give more explanation? And you can still post links, just go to advanced post reply, and uncheck automatic parsing of links.

i mean, i want player to work as 3D TV. samsung, lg, etc.
when i download 3d mkv to watch it on tv, it can be 2 types of files - horizontal anamorph pair.
and vertical pair
so, hardware 3d TV asked "what pair did you download? vertical or horizontal"
and makes output like this
left_eye_frame1, (left eye on 3d glasses opened, right eye closed)
right_eye_frame1, (left eye on 3d glasses closed, right eye opened)
left_eye_frame2, (left eye on 3d glasses opened, right eye closed)
right_eye_frame2, (left eye on 3d glasses closed, right eye opened)
left_eye_frame3, (left eye on 3d glasses opened, right eye closed)
right_eye_frame3, (left eye on 3d glasses closed, right eye opened)
SO, with google cardboard device (and another same devices) user can watch 3D ONLY with horizontal pair. But vertical seems to be more popular format. And all what i talking about, i ask to do feature - vertical --> horizontal conversion, to watch vertical pair 3d movie in 3d devices like google cardboard.
i hope, i talking understandably.
sorry fo my english, i'm from russia.
i have this message about links:
"To prevent spam on the XDA forums, ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages. After approximately 10 posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thank you for understanding!"
You can post links by disabling auto-parse hyperlinks.
Anyways, on topic: I'm not sure how this would be implemented, or if it's an easy fix. @bleu8888 is this doable right now?

thread is dead... despite of one more thread like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player/half-sbs-playback-2d-videos-t2799322
Hi MXPlayer devs,
can you add 3D under-bottom ability displaying by S/W codec for HTC Evo 3D?
This app can do it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ddd.tridef3dgallery
Hi everyone, please post/repost your question/request/comment on the new Sticky thread on this topic. This way, it's more organized and we can more easily get visibility and discussion on this topic.

Now that Google has released Cardboard, I would love a feature to render regular videos the same way 3D Half SBS is rendered.
Obviously it won't create any 3D effect but it would still give the big screen cinema effect when using Cardboard or Durovis Dive for example.
There is already an app called "Side-By-Side Video Player" but it can't play any of my x264 MKVs, so if MX started supporting this, that'd be great!
Same here, I 3d-printed a Durovis Dive and with Changed Aspect Ratio its cool to watch side by side movies.
If there was an option to double a normal 2D video, would enable me to watch normal movies for instance on a plane like being in a movie theatre.
And by the way, the format after the conversion (double) would be side by side, not half-sbs.
Thanks in advance,
seas

That's not really related, he wants conversion for different types of 3D standards, Side-by-side vs Over-under.
Over-under videos look like this: http://www.tweaking4all.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/3d_top_and_bottom_example.jpg
VR glasses like Cardboard and Durovis Dive require the video to be Side-by-side.
What seas1 and I are requesting is simply an option to render the same frame twice, Side-by-side.
Ah, well, this seems on appearance to be a simple implementation, the "hard" part would be to crop it for left vs right eye. Let's see what the dev's got to say about this.

I suggest we add a feature to allow users to move the vedio picture to the top of the screen so that there won't be any black space on the top and subtitles can be displayed totally outside the picture in the lower black space. This is especially helpful when subtitles have two or more lines.
This feature can be found on desktop version of kmplayer, PotPlayer and a few other mainstream players.

If you are taking about bottom padding, it is not possible. But, moving the video is still possible. Goto Settings | Player | Touch Controls & enable Video pan
Now use two fingers together to move video screen in any direction.
Hello everyone,
GonnyCam is a burst camera app that compresses and saves frames directly to storage as it captures them, avoiding memory buffer size limits that restrict the number of shots you can take in a single burst.
I've recently updated it to support the camera2 API but I've only tested it on a Nexus 5, so any feedback from people with other devices is very welcome! To access the camera2 features (higher resolutions, basically) you need to go into the options and check "Use Android Camera2". The checkbox will only appear if you have a phone running 5.1.1+ and with the "full" camera2 API implementation.
It supports resolutions up to 1920*1080 on Kit Kat and below. Supports basic colour controls, GIF saving etc.
Search "GonnyCam" in the Google Play store if you're interested. I'd prefer to link directly to an APK but the forum software won't let me sorry.
Nice job :good:

Hi. excellent app!
Unusable on a Dji Osmo Mobile though, as you need to keep the shutter pressed continously.
Could you add an option so that the big red button starts (and then stops) recording?
Then I can stabilize my GIFs on the Osmo

Hi, thanks for trying out my app.
The behaviour you are asking for isn't supported exactly in the current version, but you can do something similar by setting up one of the volume button bindings to "Burst (start/stop)". Then you can get the functionality you want, but using the volume button instead of the big red button.

I'm not sure what you mean.
If you mean "why can't I take pictures in portrait orientation?", actually, you can. The app uses the accelerometer to choose the correct orientation to save the pictures in. However, on some devices (e.g. if the accelerometer isn't working properly) then it won't work.
If you mean "why don't the UI icons rotate when I hold the device in portrait orientation" it's because I haven't bothered to implement this yet because it's a low priority for me. The pictures will still come out in portrait regardless.
Yes, that works - must have been a glitch on my phones accelerometer when I tried it last night.
Excellent - thanks
Facebook didn't want to play my GIF as GIFanim - just showed the first picture.
I see online that people claim that is because the gif is not in 1:1 format (but 4:3 og 16:9)
Have you experienced this?
Is there a way to "cut down" the pictures to 1:1?

My app doesn't support cropping GIFs to 1:1 as yet but you can use online tools to do this e.g. ezgif dot com slash crop (sorry I can't post links). Or you could try and search for a GIF editing app. Kind of annoying that Facebook doesn't do it for you tbh
I want to 3D to 2D converter feature.
It was translated by Google translate
You're going to have to provide more explanation than that.
hello there,
yes i am looking for a solution as well for playing 3D (SBS or OU) movies on 2D mode with mx player (android set top box)
i thing it would be nice if there would be a simple option to crop/zoom screen and align it to just one eye stream (either half part of the movie)
(i don't like vlc player)

You can just use pan & zoom functions to achieve the same. BTW, we are adding more controls to zoom function to individually control vertical or horizontal zoom. You may stretch the video as you wish by using the new zoom controls.

Thank you for your quick response!
Am i able to pan with mouse? (i mean with single pointer like air mouse)? Since i use android set top box i have no multi-touch screen ability.
Ok, I know it's not the most popular opinion on how to view videos, but is there a way to have YouTube stretch videos instead of cropping to fit them? I know viewing stretch will make things look fat, but the crop feature cuts off some of the video, and I'd rather watch stretch than sacrifice content. Is there any way to do this?
No. No such option, this question has been ask before.
I know it is user preferences but I still need to highlight It is awful and wrong way watching video in stretch. Aspect ratio is very important, probably YouTube purposely don't want to add-in such option to helping some user watching video in a correct way.

Ah well that sucks. At least having the option of stretching or cropping would be nice.

I wouldn't want to watch that way myself, but I agree it should be an available option either in the YouTube app or in the system settings. Maybe in the future.
