[Q] Stuck Pixels on Xperia M2, any way to fix them? - Sony Xperia M2

Hello everyone! I've just received my brand new Sony Xperia M2 from PCcomponentes.com, it's the black D2303 version, and everything works like a charm except there are some stuck pixels. They're in the Navigation Bar, near the back button, at the left of it. One is red and the another seems to be green. I've tried some methods to recover them like using some videos on YT that blink very fast, but they're still there. When the nav bar is translucent on the launcher it's difficult to find them, but when opening an app, and when the nav bar goes totally black, they're easily visible... The store where I bought it told me that 2 pixels it's not enough to claim for warranty, and as I received it yesterday I've 13 days left to return it to the store, BUT THEY WON'T CHANGE MY PHONE, they said they were going to check that everything works (BUT THE SCREEN IS FAULTY!), and then they would send money back if everything is OK, and , if I want, buy another one later. As what they told me, this is like returning something that it's fully working, but you don't want to have anymore for some reason, for example, you didn't like it, so it looks like that when they check that the box is open, and that the phone doesn't have any screen protector or back protector, they would not send me any money and they would send back the phone as it is, without being repaired or replacing with a new one...
So, as I'm not going to send it back, is there anyway to fix that by myself? Another screen blink video or software, or another recommendation??
Cheers!
P.S: The manuals were in greek, so it looks like the phone was bought there, maybe thats the reason why they don't want to change it...

Same prob , got white stuck pixels.. Too tiny to notice..

please please help me, Please!!!

I am now on Nexus #4, serious issues with first 3. So #4 looks totally different. The colors are washed out and the UI seems weird. Such as when hitting the bottom of s scrollable screen, the yellow highlights aren't smooth but sorta jagged at the top. The icons at the top of the display (wifi icon, 4g icon, etc) are green. I'm almost positive the first 3 had white highlight not green. The stock nexus wallpaper also seems a bit weird up in yhr right corner. I'm running 2.3.4 but I'm almost certain so were the others since they were all purchased with s week. Please leave me some feedback guys, I'm begging ya. I can't see myself walking into the store to exchangeyet again. Oh and the keyboard is now two tones of grey which again I never noticed on the first 3. The actual letter keys are lighter grey than the function keys.

Well Which carrier? start there...did you root it..have u added a rom??
ALSO my NEXUS HAS GIVEN ME SERIOUS PROBLEMS.. WHICH makes my phone not functional. my problem is that the DATA connectivity has lost completely can brows or any simple thing that requires data.. tried numerous things, such as updating my profile which Fails, PRL, which fails, Every ## method i can think of. I also tried going back to stock VIA ADB... still no data, its as if i had a bad activation...AND SPRINT TECH are totally of no use..they cant even realize that the # methods are different..I am wondering if i need to enter anything in the settings??searched and searched google and i just think that the support on the device is so poor that google almost fails to recognize the problems in actual writing...Now im stuck wondering if i should go back to my EVO again!!!
I'm on sprint too and also wondering if I want me evo back. I do like the phone though and pure Google is awesome. I'm nit one of those people who just looks to break balls and get return after return simply because I'm able to. I've also had to purchase a new $30 zagg with each exchange so I'm out an additional $120. I can't imagine walking back into the store for my 5th nexus. They also said after 3 there not allowed to do exchanges for the same device, its time to get into a new one. I have read all the issues that the last couple of updates has brought to the color profile of the Nexus but I'm pretty sure the others were all on the same software. Can anyone confirm when 2.3.4 rolled out ota?

They've always been green when you have a signal ... white while you are acquiring a signal.

Yep, always been this way. You probably didn't notice because of the incorrect colour space ...

If you've read the forums you'll know this is a divisive point: some think the over-saturated purple-heavy colour space used prior to 2.3 is better looking, and some think that the correct colour space is, of course, correct. You make your own mind up. Read the other threads on the topic.
OK so after a bit more time with the phone here's what I'm finding.
I can't remember what software version the first batch of nexus units had but this one is running 2.3.4. I've read that one if the updates has totally screwed up the colors on the Nexus S but this seems to have been one of the updates the TMO version got, I think the ns4g shipped with 2.3.4. Still need someone to confirm this because if my first 3 were running earlier software then its possible that's why this one looks very different. It doesn't seem to be s faulty display because its really only the UI that's affected. Photos sbd such do not look washed out. When outside the deep dark blacks and vibrant colors come back, head indoors and the washed out display is very noticeable. Could this be an issue with the auto brightness?? I could really use some help here guys, especially if someone knows for sure if yhr Sprint version has been updated to 2.3.4 or if it shipped with 2.3.5. Thanks
Most of your questions are found by Googling or searching in the forums, but ill tell you what I know.
The green means that you are synced. White means that you are connected to internet but you're not synced ie you get no Google services. Gtalk, email, etc etc. You want it to be green.
As mentioned above, the washed out colors are from 2.3.3 and on. I think they changed the colors a little bit in 2.3.4 but they will still look "washed out" to someone who came straight off 2.3.2 and before.
Also, the washed out was not tmo specific. It was changed in the 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 OS which means that anyone with those versions will see this. Nexus s is a pure Google phone so the updates are all the same, not network specific.
If being in the sun makes the screen brighter or changes how your screen looks, then yes, that is the auto brightness trying to save you battery life. It does the same to me too. It's annoying I know because sometimes on cloudy days it doesn't brighten all the way but I still can't see the screen as clearly. You can change the brightness of the screen though.
Hope this helps.

Zaggs have a lifetime warranty and even if you have to return your phone, take the Zagg off first and then go to Zagg.com and go to support and get a replacement. They will charge you shipping($3 I think) and as long as you send the old one back in within 60 days you will incur no more charges. Returning your phone is one of the options covered under their lifetime warranty.

Weird screen defect issue?

My phone was ok 10 minutes ago and now it's screwed up.
Took a photo, see the weird black lines/hashes/dots?
Dude!! What you did to your screen?? Its look like being press by something ;P

No idea. Didn't do anything.
Downloaded some dead pixel apps, if I set the screen to black, I can still see it, its weird.
If that's the case i'd be contacting htc or tmobile and getting a replacement.. Did it just start doing this or when you got it?
Yeah this just happened today. Was fine this morning, have this phone since August.
No idea how it happened. I didn't bang it or anything.
I sent HTC an email since you can attach a photo to the support ticket, easier that way than trying to explain them what it looks like.

it seems to be wet on the inside. some leaks inside? hehe. like radiator leaks or something?
Hello there! I have the exact problem here. I didn't do anything with my screen and somehow i still got thoes enoying dots! wtf is it? should i contact hTc for a replacement? anyhow i want to know what it is!
Thanks for helping me out br0s!
This is how it looks. Attached BELOW
As you can see some of them are black and some of them are like cyan blue. the blue pixles has been black but after awhile they changed colour. This is only like 10% of the pixels that I had before, after the gone blue they dissapear. strange....

Yeah, call HTC, they replaced my screen, I could tell cuz the bottom part of the phone wasn't closed all the way, I also got a different screen. I had the Acer screen and was replaced with the other one that's better.
Hey RizZern, just came across this thread and wanted to know if you managed to fix your screen issue.
I am facing the same issue , but i know that it appeared when i dropped my device accidentally.
I have observed that when the phone temperature goes up, the pixels become darker and then turn cyan when it cools.
Cheers,
Alan

Second faulty Z3 - screen glitches while scrolling

Hello all,
So my first Z3 broke the day I got it after getting wet. Was slightly annoyed. Spent two days finding an EE store that had one in stock to replace it. Finally, today I got my replacement Z3.
However, my joy was quickly shadowed by what appears to be faulty graphics, though hopefully one of you folks can shine some light on this issue.

I'm getting black lines and glitches while scrolling in any app like Facebook, Reddit or even the phone's settings menu. The lines seem to actually replace entire letters, as you can see in the image above. I'm also getting some odd behaviour with live wallpapers, though games and benchmarks seem to run fine.
Anyone have any ideas? I've tried resetting it. I really don't want to have to go through the pain of finding a third replacement...
Edit: The actual problem seems constrained to one line of pixels, and flickers as text scrolls through that line.

you should've taken it to sony repair center earlier maybe it's because of that replacement you did? why not try taking it to repair center now?
I'd take it back again. They should give you a brand new one if its within 28 days.
Sony repair centres I believe are hard to find in England, at least i've never seen one.
Your gpu or software relating to gpu is nackered. Take it back to EE, there are no sony centres in most UK now and they will repair not replace. Be reasonable with EE and they'll swap it out again but when they do, you sit in store and check everything, I did in o2 and found a fault but because I was in store they just immediately swapped. Better than any more trips and you know you've got a solid phone.

Completely agree with tihs. always open it in front of them and the fact you got a picture/ video as evidence will help your case.

Thanks! I took it back and they tried telling me it was just because of a faulty sim card... -_- The same EE advisor also told me that the processor and RAM is inside the sim card, so I just needed to get a new sim and the issue would be fixed.
I'm not even joking.
Anyway, I was adamant that he replaced the phone and he did. The new unit is a beaut.
Thanks guys!
My beloved z3 cracked itself, let in water and died at 8 months old. I decided to claim on my insurance as I couldn't face the ordeal of trying to convince Sony that i hadn't damaged (or dropped/twisted/ hit/taken to below 1.5m of water etc) my phone and being told that I had damaged it myself and am either a liar or an idiot. My insurance company took nearly 3 weeks to return the repaired phone which was still very faulty, no Bluetooth, no wifi, no calls and no MAC address. I re-returned it, got it back again with the same faults and eventually got a new Z3 only to find screen faults of overall flickering and intermittent screen blurring like an old tv set.
I'll have to send this one back too, another week without a phone and another installation.
It is so sad that the Z3 which was by far my favourite phone so far and was hailed by Sony as robust and waterproof is so disappointing and fragile in real life. BTW my phone had always been in a case with screen protectors.

[Q] HELP Damaged LCD, should I send to Sony for repair?

Basically, my white variant of the Z3 is suffering from blue/purple spots/blurs on the top right of my screen and it's really annoying, especially at high levels of brightness. This randomly appeared out of nowhere and I've also noticed that before this appeared my white balance was more blue-ish compared to my friends black variant of their Z3. Both had white balance set to default but on maximum brightness mine always appeared more blueish when theirs appeared more richer in black and whites.
Anyway, attached below are 2 pictures I took from my old SP to show you what I am suffering from, should I send my phone to Sony for repair? Also, my white variant has slight gaps in build quality like the others found in early batches. Another problem, while trying to get my week of production paper out with a pair of tweezers, I messed up real bad and pushed the whole thing inside the phone. I'm assuming I need it for them to repair my phone under warranty? I think I can resolve it by leaving them a note saying that the paper is inside the phone somewhere, just not where they would look normally lol.
Yeah send it for repair, I don't think you need a note, as I don't think its that big of a deal (the paper).
Sent it into repair 2 weeks ago, just got it back. They didn't do anything but update the devices software, wow -_-

Did they even know why you sent it to them? I would complain. Not acceptable.
Update on my situation: I couldn't be bothered to send my device back into repair after they did nothing the first time. But something else happened this time, I haven't exposed my phone to water since the repair, last week I showed off my phones waterproof ability and it failed quite embarrassingly... Shortly after exposure the LCD just died, the phone itself was on but the screen was just dead. So I sent it into repair once again, I honestly don't think they tested the IP rating after reassembling it from the first time. Really hope they don't mess up again otherwise I'm going to lose myself.
EDIT: They did the right thing this time and sent a me a new phone. Went from W38 to W52.

HTC One A9 display burn in?

Hey guys,
I just got my brand new HTC One A9! The design is absolutely stunning.
However, after turning on the device, I observed strange artifacts on the display. Somehow they look like burn in artifacts. To show you what I'm talking about I added an attachment that shows a plain white screen (from a display test app).
Has anyone observed something like this so far?
Thanks and best regards
Christian
Nope, looks like a burned in, if it came out of the box, take it back to your service provider, or contact HTC if you bought it from them, if you got it like this, it's a manufacturing problem and they should replace it without question. If you would not like to do that then just get a screen replacement.
Yea well, it came out of a sealed box like this. I just wondered if it is a temporary problem that will go away in time.
Nevertheless, now I will return it and order a replacement.
Thanks for your opinion!

Yeah no problem, anytime man
Looks like the phone was ON all this time in the box because it takes hours for a screen to get burnins
Edit: The screen is either re-used or you have let your Dot View case slightly open for hours, the big clock and temp are from Dot View
