[Q] Xperia C slow keyboard issue - Sony Xperia C

hello everyone,
I have Sony Xperia C2305 device. Its Keypad is very slow... Typing is not that much fast which is needed in a smartphone.
Typing fast makes keypad slow and incorrect the words.
As per Sony Care Instructions, I factory reset my phone, off key press vibration, word suggestions etc etc. that did not work for me.
If any of you guys has experienced the same issue and got it resolved....please let me know. ....
Thanks
Adeel Ahmad

I've got same problems with the stock keyboard...
So i use custom keyboard on my xc, and it's much better now.

Did you guys try clearing the keyboard cache?
Settings > Apps > All > Xperia Keyboard > Clear cache

Yes, cleared cache. Even I have tried master reset. I tried 3rd party keyboard like Go Keyboard, swift keyboard.
Phone still does not respond quickly to key presses....still annoying.

I've got no such issues on my Xperia C.
Try disabling the Gesture Input. I'm not sure it'll solve your problem, you can give it a try..

I have the same problem

If you want you can install a new keyboard
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722210

Keyboard depends upon users interest. Xperia Keyboard is one of the best as it consumes less memory than other keyboard apps and even the original AOSP keyboard.

Landscape keyboard?

Hi everyone!
I stopped using the dodgy default keyboard and switched to the HTC keyboard. Wow, it's a whole new phone now! One question though, I use IM a lot (ebuddy, msntalk and msndroid) and everytime I go to the landscape keyboard, it fills up the whole screen so I cannot see what someone has just said while I'm typing. Is there anyway to stop the landscape keyboard from filling up the whole screen (similar to the iPhone)?
Thanks!

Use Better keyboard with custom skins keyboard sizes its accurate and fast and doesn't use the whole screen cost as little a couple of dollars with load of additional skins to install too for free.
Doesn't quite work. When I go into landscape mode on ebuddy the keyboard and textbox still cover the whole screen. Is there a setting to remove the textbox so I can see what is going on in the app?
I need something like this:

As opposed to this:

yes, i am well aware of that. but none of it can be attached to galaxy s and become a slider keyboard. if you find any, i would very appreciate it if you post the links here. thanks
Good idea to start this thread. Just sent in a request to boxwave with a url to this forum, hopefully they will notice the level of interest here!
why do u need bluetooth keyboard while u can type faster with SWYPE or SLIDEIT keyboard?
last time i used to aim for only qwerty keyboard smartphone,
but after i got myself capacitive screens smartphone, i think it is not necessary for a qwerty keyboard, it is even slower

i personally do like soft keyboard, but not swype. when the screen gets smudged, swype will make it more messy.
my favourite is gingerbread keyboard, but even that gives me errors. a hard keyboard, to me, although require more practice, but will get the job done once you get used to it. i've tried and liked it.
another thing is, playing games using a hard keyboard is so much easier.
Holy crap, it looks amazing! But phone will look like a fat brick... hmmm request sendet afterall

does JB have keyboard gesture writing?

hi guys
i just flashed the German JB rom and i found out that i can't use gestures on the keyboard anymore and it's really annoying to use normal method for input cause it's slow should i download swype keyboard for it and ignore samsung keyboard?
any suggestions?
thanks
Jelly Bean 4.1 doesn't. However, 4.2 does. I would strongly suggest you use Swype....I am amazed by how accurate it is. I use it on my arc S and I barely make mistakes over it. It's the best gesture keyboard out there. I use HTC stock trace keyboard on my sensation XE, and make mistakes very often. Just go with Swype.
P.s. I Swype'd this without a mistake too.

You can, just hold down the settings icon on the keyboard, tick continuous input. Its the same as Swype. You just need to have Predictive text turned on... Thats in the Official JB release...

Did you do a fresh install or did you install over your old system.? Did you re-install a Titanium backup or any other type of backup?
Doing this may result in undesired things happening as you are going from 1 OS to another. I cleared cache and dalvik when I installed original through Mobile ODIN. I can tick continuous input. I have no idea why yours is greyed out other than the reasons above...

Is performance of keyboard any better under jelly bean than it is on ics? I find the predicted words appalling on ics.
In this post it would not predict:
Better
Find
Word
Post
Predict
I also tried the word sentence, and it didn't like that either.
I do find that after tapping the word out, it will then predict out next time I swipe it, which makes me feel it is a dictionary error of some kind.
In that last sentence it refused the words feel and kind.
Does anyone else have this problem? (Noting that words anyone and else failed while swiping that last sentence !)
I have the Galaxy Note 2 and previously had the Galaxy Note, neither of which have this problem. Swype works fine too.

L keyboard on 4.x.x?

Simple question, I've tried to install the apk normally and also place it in the /system/app folder with executable rights...no go.

Since I don't use gesture typing of any sort, the new keyboard simply brings a better UI (to me anyway) compared to the other stock keyboards. The ONLY gripe I would have is that there is no separation between keys, meaning it looks like one flat pad with letters and no lines. Looks/works beautifully though.

It's the exact same keyboard, it just adds an extra "theme" in Google Keyboard settings > Advanced > Color Scheme, named "Material". Choose that one.

In the Themes section of S8 +,
(similar thread as yours)
Some members that had same issue,
cleared Bixby "cache" (Settings /Apps /Bixby... cache) Afterwards they managed to do update.
Good luck
Same problem here. Shows update available, click update, and says I have the latest version.
I updated but no voice options at all I think it was just the ui change

I was earlier checking for a app shortcut
with QuickShortcutMaker app and saw
Bixby voice etc all listed and installed
but not enabled. Obviously
missing some other.. software ?
See screenshots
i do believe we might still wait a few months for voice input.
Bixby, i mostly use, for easy access to my to email accounts.
Just press button and i can read my new emails.!
I am still on old Bixby version
Not sure if anyone else has noticed but if you are using the samsung keyboard and hit the voice button it appears to use bixby for dictation. Interesting....

Sorry to disappoint you, but it's not my device's theme!
Theme, icons, fonts (in screenshots) from 3rd party app QuickShortcutMaker (free Play store)
Maybe download, install
and the search for something similar.? (Reason is, you can always compare themes )
Good luck
Maybe this is update?
