I'm looking thru devboards and consoles for android.
I got a pair of video glasses that support AV and hdmi in.
So i'm looking for something with good roms, hdmi or av out "av would be less problematic" that has at least some beefy cpu and gpu to go with it.
I already looked at the R-pi and the beagle boards.. but i want something that has proper android and games with the hardware to match.
I'm more planning to use it for games.. but if i can find something that supports gsm as well that would rock.
It does not have to be a devboard.
on a extra note it needs to run on 5V
Hi there!
The General Q&A section would be the best place to ask this question...

Hello everyone, curious n00b here. I have a question/idea. I don't want to waste too much of your time, so I'll go ahead and start.
I am a hardcore gamer. My game type of choice, FPS. I have an iPad and a Motorola Droid X (have had many other android phones before this one) and playing games on them is rather difficult due to controls. Playing an FPS on either of these devices is a pain only because of controls. The graphics look great, and the program itself runs pretty well. Other than the controls I can find no fault. Touch screen gaming just isn't do-able for any FPS.
hXXp://code.google.com/p/kwaak3/ (since I'm new I can't post links, just replace XX with tt)
The link above is to a Quake 3 port to android. It has keyboard support for movement (forward, backward, left, right) already but no way to look (X and Y axis) making it unplayable. What I would like to do is be able to use a bluetooth keyboard for movement, and a bluetooth mouse to look. I'm going to be getting rid of the iPad and getting the Galaxy Tab soon and would love to be able to use my keyboard/mouse combo for controls and the galaxy tab as the hardware and screen if this makes sense.
Good idea? I'd like to think so, but I haven't seen anyone else propose this so far, and I don't know how to do it myself. I'm going to be looking into this more on my own but I don't even know where to start. Is this even possible? Is it possible to use two separate bluetooth devices for input like this? It doesn't even have to be a keyboard and mouse, maybe use the PS3 controller for controls and then only have to carry that one device with me. I don't know how to implement this either. That's why I've come to you guys for help.
Before anyone jumps down my throat and says "Well that means you would have to carry a keyboard and mouse around with you at all times." I know this. I currently do this on a daily basis. I keep them in my book bag every single day, anywhere I go. If I'm the only person to do this then so be it, but I have a feeling I'm not the only one that would be willing to do this. I know I could easily carry a gaming laptop around with me at all times but that's not what I want. I love Android. I love gaming. I would like to join them together somehow.
Sorry for the long read. Maybe I'm just dumb or the idea is stupid, idk. I'd like to think it would help sell more Android/Tablets. I know Apple would never allow that, but Android is very possible. Thanks to anyone that reads this. I hope this idea can become a reality.
hi guys...
i find id hard to find a decission about buying a motorola xoom 1 for portable pentesting.
i want to go for backtrack on the device, cause i have been reading that this is the best device for backtrack and because of the " Monitor / injecting mode".
in this conclusion i got 3 questions and i hope you guys can help med.
the first is ...do you guys agree that i should go for this device or is their better alternatives for my purpuse (monitor mode)
have any of you have expirience with the sslstrip "yamas" on this device.
is it possible to use a Alfa AWUS036NHA on the zoom.
i want to state that i have an ipad for "fun" like games and movies, so buying a new tablet is only for pentesting!
Wouldn't it be better to buy a cheap netbook? Mod it to use a better antenna, away you go.
Hello, guys, I'm hoping to garner some expert advice for this question because I have no idea what will suffice or give me by best value, etc. I'm looking to buy a nice monitor for gaming with my Xbox 360 and I have a few questions: what is the best brand for this? I was hoping that Samsung makes pretty good monitors for this task? I like the Samsung TV in our house, lol. Would this be a good monitor for gaming on: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-T27...0866?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item3f21a26692 Also, I'm a pit picky about things and would like a monitor with as little bezel as possible, haha. I just don't know what to pick because I've found a few different monitors that are 27 inches with different serial numbers and it's intimidating me; so I came here for advice. Any help would be loved!
Hi All,
I've been doing my homework to develop a car pc/carputer for my vehicle using one of the Android RK 3188 Mini PC's but have not found answers to a few of my concerns. If you have any leads to the answers below, or can directly answer them yourself, I will be forever thankful for your help!
1. I read about these Android PC's supporting capacitive but not resistive touch screens. Is this true, and if not, can you recommend some 7" touch screens to use for these? I've owned a Lilliput 7" touch screen which used the eGalaxy Touchkit drivers, but have been unable to find support for the Mini PC Sticks.
2. GPS Workaround: In the past I used a tetherGPS app from my phone to the tablet. Is this still workable? If not, can you recommend some GPS solutions?
3. Camera: I want to add on a reverse camera. Can anyone point me at a compatible WEATHERPROOF, and possibly night vision, camera?
Thanks for all the help in advance. Also, if you have embarked on this same adventure, please share your setup here. I am also not sure which Android Stick to purchase yet, so any recommendations on that aspect would be much appreciated as well! I am currently leaning toward either the CX-919 or the Tronsmart RK3188. Thanks again everyone!
hows your project going bizzle?. any progress?
hello there good people ,
As the subject suggested , I'm looking for a simple remote for my smart home (z-wave : vera controller) .
This tablet will be wall mounted most of the time and will be taken to living room when needed.
I don't need a good quality screen , I don't need cellular data , I don't need BT , I don't even need camera (I think they all have it) .
just need simple android (preferably kitkat and up) Wifi enabled cheap tablet.
micro USB charging will make a good advantage so it will be fairly easy to find a matching white charger.
I think budget should be ~$60-70 USD .
I also need the links to be from eBay / DX / aliexpress.
I think this 11/11 sale will produce a good buying opportunity.
Thanks very much for your help.
