Guide [Root]ing the [T230NU] for DUMMIES (Galaxy Tab 4 7.0)

1. To start off, make sure your tablet's battery is fully charged.
2. Download the 'T230NU Root Kit' & 'Samsung USB Driver' files to your PC & extract them.
3. Locate the 'Samsung USB Driver' file and install it on your PC.
4. In your Tablet go into Settings/General, scroll down and click on 'About device'. Look for where it says 'Build number', you need to TAP that continuously until it says 'Developer mode has been turned on'. You should now see 'Developer options' on top of 'About device', click it and checkmark 'USB Debugging'.
5. Connect the tablet to your PC with the USB cable.
6. In your PC locate the 'UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46' file and copy it to your Tablet (Root directory of your tablet is fine or place it anywhere you want, remember the location and DO NOT EXTRACT IT, just copy it as it is).
7. Disconnect the tablet from your PC & power it off.
8. Put your Tablet into 'Download Mode' (push all these three buttons at the same time; Power/VolumeDOWN/Home) As soon as you see letters on the screen IMMEDIATELY hit the 'VolumeUP' button while letting go of the other three buttons). If you did it right, it should now say 'Downloading...', if not then power it off and try again.
9. Connect the tablet to your PC with the USB cable.
10. In your PC locate the 'Odin3 v3.09' file, right click it and choose 'Run as administrator'. Once the program opens it should automatically detect your tablet--it should say 'Added!!' under Message. Now click on the button that says 'BL' and locate the 'openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-degas' file, select it and click open. Make sure to uncheck 'Auto-Reboot' and then click 'Start'. When it's done you should see the word RESET in blue on top & it should say 'RES OK!!' under message.
11. Disconnect the tablet from your PC & power it off by holding down the power button for at least 10 seconds.
12. Now that your tablet is off, go into 'Recovery Mode' (push all these three buttons at the same time; Power/VolumeUP/Home) As soon as the Samsung logo comes up let go of ONLY the power button, then as soon as you see the 'Teamwin' logo IMMEDIATELY let go of the other two buttons. If you did it right then you should now be inside the 'Teamwin' program, if not and your device booted up normally then you need to try again starting from step #7.
13. Click on 'Install' and locate the 'UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46' file--depending on where you saved it in your tablet on step #6, now at the bottom where it says 'Swipe to Confirm Flash' swipe it to the right, wait until it is done flashing and then choose 'Reboot System'.
14. Before you start jumping for joy, lets first check for Root status (once your tablet boots up, go to the play store and download an app called 'Root Check',
install it, open it & it should say that your device is 'ROOTED').
15. Congratulations! You now have full control of your device.

You can check the uninstall option in superSu app or Re-install your firmware(or install any rom). I also think there might be some kind of superSu-uninstaller script/app somewhere in forums.

Tutorial: How to root Vodafone Smart 4 Turbo / 890n (cortex A53)

So since there are no tutorials on this I wanted to share my knowledge!
This is how you can root your Vodafone Smart 4 Turbo running 4.4.
Gather a standard USB to micro USB type B cable so you can connect your device to your PC. This cable came with your device.
Go into your settings to enable developer options. This is done by going into settings -> About this phone -> pressing build number 7 times.
Go into settings -> Developer options -> Enable USB debugging
Download RootGenius from: shuame.com/en/root/ (Windows only)
Go into your device settings -> Storage now press the menu key (key on the right bottom corner of the device), press "USB Computer connection"
Uncheck all possible options.
Run the RootGenius.exe file which you downloaded in step 4.
Once RootGenius is running, connect your device to your PC, there should be no driver issues here. RootGenius should detect your device.
When the button "Root" Appears, press it and wait.
When the process is complete your phone will be rooted BUT wait! This installed KingUser app onto your phone, which is not very desirable.
To get rid of kinguser and replace it with SuperSu from ChainFire, download this app from the play store. It's called "Super-Sume"
Once this app is installed, open it, press the big blue button, wait. Once it is finished you will be taken into the newly installed SuperSu app.
Uninstall the "Super-Sume" App.

Zenfone 3 Laser Root, etc?

Hi everyone! I've used this forum for help rather often, but never made an account until just now.
Recently, I decided to get a new phone. Specifically, an Asus Zenfone 3 Laser(Model number ZC551KL / Z01BDC). However, there's no subforum for this device, and only one mention of this model across all of XDA, which is odd considering it's been out for about 2 weeks in most places, and was announced months ago. The same goes for it's brother the Zenfone 3 Max...even odder when 3/5 Zenfone 3 models have their own forums.
I'd like to know if anyone has set out to root this model of phone, as well as if it has a locked bootloader(as I'm not entirely sure about this, though I doubt it.)
As a sidenote...is there any way to try to get a subforum for this device? I'm fairly certain that it'll be a decent enough device to play around with, much like the Zenfone 2 laser. And I apologize if I placed this in the wrong forum.

KingRoot?
I used KingRoot to root my old HTC Desire 626g+, and it worked fine, no issues. Does anyone know if this is also the case for the Asus ZenFone Laser 3 (ZC551KL)? I would certainly prefer using KingRoot if it is safe. If you think I should root it another way, why is that method any better?
MY BAD
I meant to make this a new thread, I clearly messed up. Still new here
Could an admin please delete this reply for me.

Can you get into the recovery? If you can, try flashing the ASUS official image from their website. If you want to keep root, flash supersu right after it. Or... which method are you talking about?
It isn't a joke, if you visit the other forum on here with a lot more support, and success, that will be a better place to receive help, since a lot of us that have our phones rooted with that method are on the other forum only. Here's the link.

Hello guys, i also have a ZenFone 3 Laser Droid 7.1.1 and i'm thinking not to root it yet... Even if right now with 7.1.1. Installed is very buggy and slow, Asus announced that in mid 2018 we'll get the new update for Droid 8, which they say will include more awesome features and way less preinstalled garbage apps, so must be a cleaner, faster experience... can't wait for it
Iv'e got a guide but I need 10 posts to post it properly.
