[Q] Unable to play 72Op,, 1080p videos??? - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

On my XEDual i have flashed adreno 200 optimization
i have ARMv7 custom codec in mx player
but videos of 1.5 Mbits/sec videos lag no AV sync!!!
What should i do???

Dude...do you expect a Single Core ARM Cortex-A5 Processor to play/decode 720p Videos and whats even funnier expect it to play 1080p vids?
What should you do? Get a new a phone with a beefed up processor...although I feel you there since all my vids are usually 1080/720p and work fine on my 2 devices except J

Can CM11 solve this issue????

How to play 1080 p videos in 320X480 p video mode by conversion???

Your screen is 320X480 can't full display 720p. But you can try a Xposed module. Sorry for my Bad English

Guys to make it crystal clear. Our devices ( E/J/Miro/Tipo ) cannot decode 720p/1080p Videos no matter what ROM/Kernel/Add-on you use
the Processor is to weak to decode and the RAM does not look to good either

All you can do is resize those videos to 320x480
"Any Video Converter" is a good program for this

Video Quality

Hi,
I've been searching what settings to rip my videos to play in TP.
Can anyone suggest some optimum settings? frame rates etc?
Cheers
joymike123
depensd on your app, but 640x480 (or a tad smaller for widescreen, 640x360 i think) is fine. 25fps. file should be around 700mb
Mine managed to play a 900mb rip of a movie at slightly higher than VGA the other day at 150% benchmark.
I am so pleased that I finally have a deice where I can just drag videos onto the memory card without having to convert
I can play VGA video @700MB only 75% of benchmark. Why???
not converting @ all.... just watching the normal video wich i download for my pc..
I tried playing bigger files to start with but the playback wasn't smooth so I tried some different conversions using Aimersoft Video Converter and came up with these settings...
Video
Resolution: 320*240
Frame Rate: 30 fps
Encoder: H.264
Bit Rate: 768 kbps
Audio
Sample Rate: 44100 Hz
Channel: Stereo
Encoder: AAC
Bit Rate kbps
What player are you guys using?
im using coreplayer. settings are similar (using clonedvdmobile)
only differences:
640x480 (or widescreen 640x360)
25fps
1012kbps
Could anybody test video performance with this file?
http://shintak.info/ppc/download/betaplayer/sample/RL_XQ_640x480_1500_128.avi
I own asus p750 (considering touch pro) and with core player 1.2.5. I get around 110%.
I find that if I run windows media player first, leave it running in the background and then run coreplayer, the videos run alot smoother...
But if you are looking at downloading and then playing videos directly off the unit plugged in to the tv, then this unit is not for you... If you use medium quality QTV when watching them on the unit... it's fine...

around 80%
I got 94.5%.
Have you tried setting video quality to medium in Coreplayer? I now have:
Video Output : QTv Display
Video Quality : Medium
And I got 160% using the video above. Still seemed to be pretty high quality to me! Will use that from now on I think.
Steve
Obviously it would be nice to play at full quality though... Just had a look at the corecodec forums and apparently an update is going to be released soon that improves performance on the diamond, so hopefully this will help us too!?!?
Thanks for your replies.
I used this settings:
Video Output : Intel XScale
Video Quality : High
Can not believe that old intel pxa270 scores better. Btw my p750 have ARMv5TE, and touch pro has new ARMv6 processor, so i hope that bad result is reflection of unoptimized software.
I hope that it will be sorted with new core player.
125.5%
Bench framerate 30.12fps
I'm on the stock 405 ROM
Coreplayer v1.2.2 settings:
RawFramebuffer
Quality - High
Smoothzoom - only for 50%

Playing high resolution video?

Which is the best player to view video in high resolution without to convert them or stuff like that!
I already overclocked it on 1.5 GHz but i can not play 1280x720 videos fluently!
I heard that the SGS 2 can play 1920 fluently out of the box, dont know if its true!
I'm currently on 3.0.1! Is there a difference on 3.1?
Hi oaz1,
Did you make high profile video work OK now? I am also very interested to make at least 720p high profile video work on my Xoom.
Have you tried Tiamat Kernel with both CPU and GPU overclock? Are you using software or hardware video decoding?
FYI, I am running stock 3.2 image.

I've been using mx video player. It plays 720p files without a problem.
Buy dice player...
Install Mobo Player and QQ Player, and then buy Dice Player, it plays high profile 720p H264 without a hitch. You can also use XenonMKV to convert the audio in your high profile videos (without re-encoding video) and play them back in the stock player without issues. Takes about 15 minutes to convert and rebuild a 2 hour movie on my laptop, video is untouched in the process. I did that once, but it's much easier (and well worth the ~$5) to buy Dice Player.

[Q] Can the TF really play 1080p videos?

Not that I would really notice any difference between 720p and 1080p but I think there might be some misunderstanding that the TF can play back full 1080p video (1920x1080). Or at least mine can't without encountering serious lag.
I can't play 1080p on the browser YouTube without lag. Also the YouTube app doesn't let you chose between 720p and 1080p so I'm guessing it only plays 720p. to make sure it wasn't a browser problem i download a full HD video (www[dot]digital-digest[dot]com/movies/Limitless_1080p_Theatrical_Trailer[dot]html) and as expected it played with a lot of lag. Can anyone else check on that too?
Thanks
Wondering the same, I hope there is a solution for this problem, Otherwise it may be false marketing/advertisement which would be very sad fact for us as TF users indeed.
So I tried searching for an official quote stating that the TF can playback 1080p video and the closest i came was this line from ASUS's website-
"A 5MP rear- and 1.2MP front-facing camera can shoot and record HD video, which can be played back in stunning 1080p."
Even here it doesn't state clearly where exactly the video can be played back. Nowhere else does it mention that the TF can playback 1080p. I think it's just clever marketing on their part but it does lead to general misinformation about the product.
Why would you want to play 1080p content if the screen only can handle 720p anyway?

Hdmi out to a tv is what comes to mind.
The transformer will do 1080p resolution out to a TV or monitor, but I do not think it is capable of playing true HD videos such as the Limitless trailer you listed.
Mine does play youtube in HD very clearly with no lag.
but I have put a HiDef MP4 video on here and attempted to play it and it was choppy or didnt play correctly at all.
I recommend AVI files and Vplayer or using a program to change the bit rate of the hi def files and trying to play them again.
Yes it will play 1080p, but it will only play 1080p low profile and only with minimal bitrates. I have made several for testing that play fine using Handbrake, but in reality 1080p over HDMI is a bit flawed at the moment, and the tablet doesn't show native 1080p so since you have to re-encode blu-rays anyway you're better off with a high profile high bitrate 720p conversion than low end 1080p.
I have not tried any of this with 3.2 yet.
While we are on the subject, does 5.1/7.1 also work via HDMI?

1080p will not play (atleast my encodes), while 720p seems to play just fine. I'd stick with 720p personally. I don't use the HDMI out, but I can see a reason for having it, it'd be nice.
I've played 1080p videos on youtube with no problem. I'm rooted and running revolver v1.1.3 (HC3.1) at 1.5 GHz.
Playing Youtube videos is not a good guideline really. Unless you make sure you are using a browser with the user agent set to Desktop and also that your Youtube settings are not set to HTML5. Then manually setting the video to 1080p and testing.
The very first bulleted item at the official ASUS product page previously stated "NVIDIA® Tegra™ 2 1.0GHz dual-core CPU for excellent multitasking & 1080P video playback" but now it states "NVIDIA® Tegra™ 2 1.0GHz dual-core CPU for excellent multitasking & HD video playback". I guess they finally decided to change it. I knew I should have taken a screenshot to prove it back when I saw it.

[Q] 1080p HD video jerks while playing...

I'm using Sony Xperia Go Stock ICS ROM .1080p doesn't play on stock video player, but by using MX player 1080 p video jerks even on installing Armv7 codec for MX player.
720p video play very smooth.
Pls can anyone tell me how to play 1080p videos smoothly.
Even on clocking both cores at 1 Ghz by using setcpu it doesn't play smoothly.
Does overclocking means clocking the processor at more than the processor value That is I want to know if I can clock my Xperia go at more than 1 Ghz.pls let me know....
