[Q] 1080p HD video jerks while playing... - General Questions and Answers

I'm using Sony Xperia Go Stock ICS ROM .1080p doesn't play on stock video player, but by using MX player 1080 p video jerks even on installing Armv7 codec for MX player.
720p video play very smooth.
Pls can anyone tell me how to play 1080p videos smoothly.
Even on clocking both cores at 1 Ghz by using setcpu it doesn't play smoothly.
Does overclocking means clocking the processor at more than the processor value That is I want to know if I can clock my Xperia go at more than 1 Ghz.pls let me know....

[Q] Any working video player for ARMv6 VFP CPUs?

I have a SE x10 mini wich has a MSM7227 processor, wich is ARMv6 VFP CPU with Adreno 200 GPU. Like HTC Legend, and some other phones.
I've tried rockplayer, vplayer and moboplayer (in all versions when other build than arm6 vfp was aviable) and I have this problem:
1. If I use normal hardware decoding, the video does not play (blank screen) and the audio sounds bad and plays like 3 times faster.
2. If I use software decoding, the video and sound plays, but synchronization is lost and the framerate is not smooth.
Tested with several normal avi (xvid mp3) files.

All the players are more or less good..
What u need to do is re-code the video clip with following settings
Resolutions as pre your phone screen
video codec xvid or divx bitrate at 256
audio mp3 at 128
frame rate as per the original video
Think these settings should solve ur sync problems
cheer!!!!
problem is i dont have videos on my sd card,i stream them and when i do sound and picture dose not match,it is not sync.
i tried bsplayer, mxplayer, and manny more but only rock player did the job, unfortunaly he also is failing most of the time
i am trying to watch avi format videos.
i tought what if there was a plugn for chainfire 3d to help us with playing such videos ?

Playing high resolution video?

Which is the best player to view video in high resolution without to convert them or stuff like that!
I already overclocked it on 1.5 GHz but i can not play 1280x720 videos fluently!
I heard that the SGS 2 can play 1920 fluently out of the box, dont know if its true!
I'm currently on 3.0.1! Is there a difference on 3.1?
Hi oaz1,
Did you make high profile video work OK now? I am also very interested to make at least 720p high profile video work on my Xoom.
Have you tried Tiamat Kernel with both CPU and GPU overclock? Are you using software or hardware video decoding?
FYI, I am running stock 3.2 image.

I've been using mx video player. It plays 720p files without a problem.
Buy dice player...
Install Mobo Player and QQ Player, and then buy Dice Player, it plays high profile 720p H264 without a hitch. You can also use XenonMKV to convert the audio in your high profile videos (without re-encoding video) and play them back in the stock player without issues. Takes about 15 minutes to convert and rebuild a 2 hour movie on my laptop, video is untouched in the process. I did that once, but it's much easier (and well worth the ~$5) to buy Dice Player.

[Q] 1080p Quality on Inspire

Whenever I try to play 1080p videos on my phone they lag significantly for about a minute and eventually the player crashes.
I used Rock Player Light and the default Video player included with Ninja (ROM).
Any ideas as to what the issue could be?
i use mobo player it plays 1080p perfectly..if u still have problems overclock to 1.2ghz and set performance mode ONLY WHILE UR PLAYING THE VIDEO u can keep it clocked at 1.2 ghz but use some other governor like ondemand, performance will suck up ir battery..
Idk about 1080p but I have Mobo Video Player Pro and my 720p mkv and mp4 videos play perfectly.

720p plays perfectly on my phone as well, I just don't want to have to convert all my 1080p things to 720p every time I want to put them on my phone. I'm about to try overclocking it, hopefully it'll work out. If not, i'll stick to 720.

1080P videoplayback

Hi everyone,
My XL cant play 1080p videos smoothly even with MX player. It lags and skips frames many times during the play back.
Is everyone facing this problem?
But there are a few reviews that many can smoothly playback 1080p videos using MX player.
I also tried enabling speed up tricks in mx player settings,:crying: but no use.
I am using the latest MX player and my phone is on latest stock firmware(.14).
Please reply.

try VLC with hardware acceleration enabled, check your external sd card for read speed (with SD tools)
or kernel with light OC to 1.2GHz (which is stock frequency of MSM8230) but this is only for unlocked bootloader...
and after all there is no reason to play 1080p videos on device with XHDPI resolution (854x480)

[Q] How can I Speed up S/W decoding on LOW-END Device

As the title "How can I Speed up S/W decoding on LOW-END Device"
I'm using HTC Desire 200 ( 1 GHz Single Core Processor, 512MB(414 actually) RAM)
I want play some 720p video on my phone, tried with few TWEAKS(V6 SuperCharger, Modified Build.prop)
the Video and Audio almost not synced all the time when play with MX player (But I can't find a better player for Android)
Please Help... and sorry for my bad English
This is a hardware issue, your phone doesnt have enough power to play these kind of videos.
Maybe if you reduce video bitrate, it will be playable.
Your only real option, is to reencode the video to a lower bitrate, and/or to a format that's hardware supported by your device. Handbrake is an easy to use reencoder.
Looking at GSMarena http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire_200-5536.php it seems your phone should be able to play H.264/AVC format.

First look how much cpu and RAM is consumed. You can use apps like lucky patcher or disable service to dissable unwanted running service, do not move mx player in sdcard, always keep some free space in internal memory, exit apps like viber.... while playing 720p videos in sw mode, do not create lot of widgets. I have same amount of hw in my ray and I can play any types of 720p videos smoothly with sw decoder. MX player uses internal modules so if mx can't play means other apps too cant

I guess I had done this, using greenify to close and make sure no unwanted and unnessccery apps running in background, checked my cpu is running on top speed (overclocking isn't available on my device for now), but still laggy (video and audio not synced)

It's because your cpu can't handle the load.
S/W mode will ffmpeg library & entire decoding will be done on CPU. So, there is no way to fix.
Goto Settings 》 Decoder & enable speed up tricks. It may affect video quality. But, may reduce the lagging.
Using SW, even with speedup tricks, will still drain your battery as your CPU's running at 100%. Reencoding to a HW supported format as I previously suggested, will increase performance and reduce battery drain.

I have a motorola bravo that I bought in 2011 which is almost the same (1ghz TI OMAP, 512mb ram) and when I try playing 720p videos, it is really slow sometimes.
The only way I can play 720p videos, it is reducing bitrate else convert resolution to 480p or lower.
Else change your phone!

Bitrate at 600kb or lower in h264.
There is a converter in the playstore which is really good, maybe the best because its based on ffmpeg and can be used some of original ffmpeg codecs
FFmpeg Media Encoder

If that's an 8-bit 600kbps H.264 video, then your phone probably doesn't support H.264 at a HW level, as hard as that is for me to believe considering the model year

You mean the phone? Hehehe
No man, Motorola Bravo is a backup phone with a good support from devs for custom roms, Quarx is the best.
I have a Razr M and Droid Ultra and they can play even fullHD videos very well.
And Droid Razr for backup too and for playing videos connected to my TV via HDMI. I would like an app to control MX player using other phone, an app with PLAY PAUSE etc support. To connect via wifi or bluetooth. [emoji1] [emoji1] [emoji1] [emoji1] [emoji1]
