[Q]Why aren't all theme features available? (CM11) - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently I've been trying some roms on android. I've tried PA, Carbon, AOKP and my favorite so far, CM11. All of them have the Theme Engine from CM. But also of them also have the same 'issue'. Some features from the themes(like Icons and Wallpapers) sometimes aren't available. The only theme that I could use all of them so far was Flux. So, I'd like to know why, wether if the themes I choose don't have those features or those features aren't compatible. Thanks.

It's the themes you have that don't have all the features.
e.g. an icon pack would only show up in icons, wallpaper pack in wallpaper, font pack in font.. thought it wasn't that hard to figure out lol.

Oh, ok, thanks. It's that the screenshots for some themes also include a few things that aren't included in the theme itself.
Thanks for clearing that out;

Also, the pics may not be updated. It's not uncommon that an update has occurred but the dev didn't upload new screenshots.

CM7 and Theme Manager

Why are more themers NOT using the theme manager in CM7? I think this is one of the absolute COOLEST additions to CM7 and cant find that many themes that support it.
What gives? It it SO much better than having to boto to recovery and flash every time, and if you dont like it, its SUPER easy to get back.

made a whole thread out of it to get more attention,

I still like to flash because I know it's made for my device. Plus, correct me if I'm wrong.. but theme chooser doesn't give you things llike widgets?
I use Sonnys themes here because it gives me a bunch of widgets and apps that are themed.. as well as lockscreens, notification pulldowns.
That said, I wouldn't have an issue applying a theme then pushing the widgets I want, but I haven't found any that are really my style.

I think themers are still unlocking the potential of theme manager. Over the past two weeks I've seen more and more complex themes being released. Personally I love the theme manager and how easy it make to hop from theme to theme.
I'll be keeping my themes flashable for a while still. In order to get them on theme manager, I'd have to re-do everything (again). Also, themes installed through the theme manager app can't modify a lot of things that make a theme look "complete" and I'd rather release a flashable theme that covers all the bases than a theme for the theme manager that only gives you half of it.

[QUESTION]CM9/AOKP theme chooser themes?

I want to implement my icons into a theme, and my questions are:
First question: Does the cm9/aokp (prev cm7 themes) have the capability of theming all application icons, including non-system apps?
Second question: Is there a way to make the theme only apply icons, and nothing else.
My goal is to create a theme that is just icons, due to the limitations of the theme chooser (my understanding is one can only have a single theme applied at once). This way someone could apply my icons, and then install a theme via flashing it, to have the best of both worlds.
Any help would be appreciated, I couldn't find an answer otherwise.

I Googled your question to find out that there's one theme in the play store that is a "cm9/aokp (previously cm7 theme)" they actually say they had to port it to cm9 (read the theme's info on play store), anyway the developer says that the icons come in a separate package -for the moment, IMHO and since these people have promised to have the third party apps in the coming weeks, then it is possible as long as there are people who have already been working on it.
Good luck.
Take a look at the Cobalt, Crimson Cobalt, and Purple Kush themes. They work really well and look good, they also theme 3rd party app icons (I noticed ES file explorer and Google Chrome were themed.) You can look through the apk to see the method of third party theming, i'm sure it isn't too hard with the theme chooser implemented.

[Q] Themes not really changing anything?

Hey folks, so I'm running the AOKP JB milestone on my HOX and I've been noodling around with themes, finding that changes aren't coming through... In fact, when I first downloaded a theme, it somehow temporarily switched my wallpaper to the default Sense wallpaper (for which there was no image file of on my phone) Anyway I don't really get any changes besides statusbar color changes and toggle changes when I switch wallpapers... anyone have any idea why?
I'm running black and cyan (found in themes and apps section) and it works great and looks awesome. Some themes don't change much just look at what it is suppose to change. Try uber jelly in the market to see if your icons change. You are choosing a theme under settings> theme chooser right?
Also once installed and applied, reboot.

[Q] CM11 Theme Engine Themes

I have seen that in the new theme engine the theme style, fonts, wallpaper, ringtone etc can be changed apart from the battery style.. why is that??
in CM9 and 10 it was working and it used to look cool..

Its because in 4.4 aosp battery indicator is hardcoded unlike the images which can be themed in prior versions. custom Roms like cm, pa Have used that as it is
Even no xpoesed module helps in changing batter indicator unless u modify systemui

[Q] What actually IS a theme?

As far as I can tell, on my Z3 at least, it means "wallpaper". Nothing else. All the icons look the same on the stock themes, just the wallpaper and perhaps the colour of some text in the settings. What can you actually customise by using a theme? Is there somewhere where there is gathered a bunch of screenshots showing what can be achieved/downloaded?

for included in stock rom, it changes system themes color (base, accent, etc) & wallpaper.
for latest 3rd party (maybe paid themes) they already have covered many ui components for LP.
this for instance

ok, thanks. I looked mainly at stock, and a few third party ones which didn't change all that much.

Those themes were built for KK firmware, not LP, that's why they aren't working like they worked on KK.

All those themes are not compatability with lollipop.. Some of the themes alone updated to lollipop support..

I had a theme applied when I updated to Lollipop.
The phone has kept all the icons from the theme
