I want to, like everyone, safely install a custom ROM. I have my phone rooted, ClockWorkMod is installed and all that good stuff. Now, how do I check if the bootloader is locked on my Samsung Transform Ultra (Boost Mobile)? How can I then, if it is not unlocked (the bootloader), go about unlocking it? I've searched everywhere I can think and on here. I see countless posts referring to rooting and how to install custom ROMs , but NOTHING about either unlocking the bootloader or checking if it is already unlocked so you can safely do so... So, anyone have any hints or clues?
Oh, and is there a ROM I can install without unlocking the bootloader for this phone? I thought it might be possible if the ROM supported this locked bootloader.
Info:
Phone/Model Number: Samsung Transform Ultra (SPH-M930BST)
Carrier: Boost Mobile
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: S:M930.02 x.FF27
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.FF27
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7
Rooted, has ClockworkMod installed. Terminal, Root File Explorer and other tools installed.
Worth Mentioning?: I had this same phone, but Sprint. Followed instructions to Install a MegaTron ROM, it seemed to successfully install, but failed to restart and it was bricked. I just wanna be sure it's safe on the current one I have and not mess up the bootloader.

Sorry for the newb question here. I rooted and put a custom ROM on my Samsung Captivate the first weekend I had it, and did the same with my old Galaxy Tab 10.1, but since upgrading to the Galaxy S3 and ASUS TF700, I haven't been keeping up with the scene.
I'm interested in rooting and putting a custom ROM on my TF700. I'm running stock JB (4.2.1). I've unlocked the bootloader using ASUS's tool. I've been looking at the CROMi-Xenogenesis ROM. The instruction mention that you have to be using bootloader 10.6.1.14.4 or 10.6.1.14.8. Just how do I find out what version bootloader I have?
As long as you are on a 100% stock ROM, the bootloader version is the same as the ROM build version.
If you are on a custom ROM, the bootloader menu (Power+Volume-down) will always show your current bootloader version, while the build number in "About tablet" will show the ROM version.
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to install the latest Cyanogen Mod, but when I do, I get an assert error. I figured out through research that this is because the newest versions require an updated bootloader. So I naturally found the latest bootloader for my model and pushed it to my SD card to install it. However, when I try to install it with CWM, I get an error saying "You cannot flash from your current bootloader version. Current version: T999UVDLJA (Status 7).
I must have stupidly installed the wrong bootloader for my device? The strange thing is that my phone is a t-mobile phone, or so it says on the back, but the "about phone" section of my settings tells me it's the model SGH-I747, which is ATT. I bought it used, so I have no idea which it actually is. My question is, how do I change my phone's bootloader to the newer version so I can install the latest CM?
Thank you in advance!
EDIT
I have found that my model is definitely SGH-T999. It seems that my CWM is installed for ATT, and so is my current version of Slim Rom. I am unable to install the CM Rom due to the fact that my CWM doesn't accept tmo files, and my bootloader isn't compatible. So now what?
I had downloaded what I thought was the latest stock AT&T factory software for the phone, rooted it, installed TWRP, and got a notification for an OTA. Being so used to my old phone, I just told it to download (Had a Galaxy S4 Active which would just fail to update and reboot to Android). I found out how to get my device to boot again by using the TWRP Command Shell (Thank goodness there was such a way! I have so many pictures on my phone that I hadn't backed up yet!).
So it's back to the stock rooted w/ TWRP. What's the easiest way to get to the latest software so that I'm not nagged by AT&T and eventually it makes me download the OTA making it a paperweight until I type in that long command from the TWRP Shell.
Software Information:
Android Version 4.4.2
Baseband Version: M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190082
Kernel Version: 3.4.0
Build Number: KOT49I.D80020k
Software Version: D80020k
Or is the firmware update coming up because TWRP is installed? I thought the method to install it downgraded something on the phone. I was on 4.4.2 when I did all the software modifications.
This is my first switch from htc to a samsung device.
I have been with HTC for years and gotten used to the procedures on rooting and unlocking bootloarder before flashing recoveries and custom roms.
I newly got the galaxy s3 with the intention to root and flash on custom roms as I heard all samsung phones by default have their boot loader unlocked.
with my search to root my new s3 I discovered of the many variants and how verizon variant having 4.3 and 4.4 can't be bootloarder unlocked and as such limited to custom roms to flash.
Here's the confusion:
Going through settings and about, it states I have - GT-I9300, ANDROID 4.3, Baseband Version : I9300ZCUBMLI
And the boot loader information:
ODIN MODE
Product Name: SCH-1535
Custom Binary Download: Yes (1 counts)
current binary: custom
system status: none
Qualcomm secureboot: enable
warranty bit:1
bootloader RP swerv: 1
So, from the setting information one could conclude its the international version but when I rooted the phone with towel root (successful) , I tried flashing the latest twrp both variants , I got an error from the recovery. i was able to restore back my stock recovery from the backup.
WHAT CAN I DO?
CAN I DOWNGRADE TO 4.1.2?
WHICH OF THE S3 VARIANTS IS THIS ?
Thanks to every replies in advance

You have a VZW S3. It's the Verizon variant. Not all Samsung devices have unlocked bootloaders. With Verizon they do almost whatever they can to lock it down.
If you took the NC1 update you would of been on a locked bootloader. But you still may be on a locked bootloader. I'm truly not sure. Check out this thread for more information

thanks for your reply
I've been reading several thread on this for hope . I dont wish to upgrade to 4.4 2, that will mean total lock up .
Then I found this link, it talks about a downgrade of 4.3 to 4.1.2

Your phone is giving conflicting information, I have no idea what you have.
If it's possible, take the battery out and take a picture of the sticker and post it.
Verizon phone also has a Verizon marking on the back of it. An sch-1535 is not a Verizon phone. An SCH-I535 is. It's possible you have a Chinese knockoff device. In which case you may need different firmware to fix your device. Flashing wrong firmware could break your phone completely.
Hi! I'm spending hours (spent already to understood I've a locked V S5 version, nobody mention that around when TWRP failed to flash) here around to understand how to put a MM root version with TWRP on my phone, that's the final goal.
From settings I see this:
Android: 5.0
G900FXXU1BOC7
Kernel: 3.4.0-4782027 [email protected] #1
build: DONGCHAO.A816
Hardw version: 1.06
Here's the first main question, can I consider it a OC4? Since I can't find 0C7 support here..
I've found a post which could describe me somehow the process, could I apply this t my phone too?
flashed the PREPARE YOUR PHONE FOR ROOT from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/veri...5-ok3-t3290370
But after it finished, now i was in PB1 but still with OC4 bootloader.... something told me to redo it.... so i did.. i RE DID the above flash again!!! and once completed i was on a full PB1 with locked bootloader.
The trick for me was that i HAD TO FLASH THE PB1 FULL TAR 2X IN A ROW!
From there i did the working root method found on the same thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/veri...5-ok3-t3290370
After i gained root, i then unlocked the bootloader based on this steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/veri...oader-t3337909
After unlocking the bootloader, then i followed the instructions labeled in light blue called "Upgrade To PD1 Rom With PD1 Unlocked Bootloader From 5.0 TW Rom With PB1 Unlocked Bootloaders" (annoying a** color to see)
After which i was then on PD1 rom rooted, PD1 unlock bootloader and no more problems with wifi, capacitive buttons not responding, etc.
Will I be able after to install ANY ROM and kernel?
Thank you!
You have g900f firmware installed.
Can you confirm 100% that you actually have a g900v?
