Its been several years since I have used QPST for anything (samsung instinct?) so I am basically green with it again. I have been trying to get it to connect to my GS5 to try to push a custom PRL but i cant get to to show an ESN. I can connect to a samsung USB port, but it just shows 'no phone' and 'no ESN' after I add the port. I cant seem to find any sort of diagnostic mode or setting that will talk to it.
I have tried USB debugging, searching through the debugging and data programming menus, connecting while in recovery mode (still looking for a driver that will work), but nothing works so far. I have also tried forcing it to a debugging mode in QPST but it doesnt change anything.
Any ideas from someone more familiar with QPST?
Also if someone can figure out a way to get access to OMADM Hidden Menu that would simplify all of this. Appearantly access has been denied on the S5 where it was wide open on the S4. I might try pushing the S4 apk onto the S5 and see if i can screw anything up
ok so i found out how to get it into diagnostic mode but now i cant seem to find drivers for qualcomm diagnostic mode. anyone know where i can get them?
samsung drivers arent working when i put it in diagnositic mode unfortunately
Try this,
from your dialer, type ##3424#.
Then select Qualcomm USB settings and choose DM+Modem+ADB.
How do you connect the Galaxy S5 to QPST? I need to read the profiles and get the NAI, HA, AAA etc.
Thanks

Hello all, I am having a problems with the USB connection of my phone since 2 days. The Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300. It suddenly won't charge (very rarely it does ) and I cannot connect to any computer via USB. You simply don't hear the USB sound, no device is detected. The funny thing though, when I go to download mode, the device is found instantly, and I can also flash the device with Odin, as I have done several times, trying to fix this problem. This suddenly happened two days ago, I didn't change anything, it simply stopped working from the one day to the next.
I have searched and read about this issue, and I found out about epic dialer codes.
this code is working : *#7284# (I had to flash to different firmware to get it to work though), i am now on this firmware:
GT-I9300_PHN_I9300XXALE8_I9300PHNALE4_I9300XXLE8.tar
The problem is, there should be a Qualcomm USB option, but it simply isn't there. I have read that many others have the same problem(no data connection and no charging) and they fixed it trough that setting. I also found that dialer code *#22745927 should enable this function, but this code is simply NOT working!
Also *#0808# doesn't work, I really want to use my USB data connection. I have 5 batteries and also a wall charger, so I am not worried about running out of power, and I am also sure it isn't a battery problem. I have 2 data cables, I can use them both to flash the device in Odin, when I connect the cable when the telephone is Off, I can see the battery for 10 seconds, but then it disappears and will not charge. (very rarely it does)
How can I enable the hidden menu and get to the qualcomm USB settings??? I also tried the app "Secret Codes Revealer" I have flashed Beanstalk, CM 10.2, in every firmware I cannot get the data connection to work. I am now trying different firmwares to get to those *#@! Qualcomm USB settings
Please help

Try this: *#22745927
*#22745927 doesn't work that's the problem I think
Apparently several people are having this issue, I will now try to flash verizon firmware to my vodafone device, to see if I can get that option to work, and afterwards flash it back to CM10.2
OK, I found out the following: the Galaxy s3 for US and Canada is a different model, the SCH-i535, and the qualcomm settings only apply for that phone, It's a little confusing, but the option apparently doesn't exist on GT-I9300 model.
That guide doesn't apply to you; the Qualcomm related stuff is only for the US and Canadian Galaxy S3 models; they have a COMPLETELY different chipset (Snapdragon S4 instead of Exynos Quad). Do not follow that guide.
*#0808# doesn't work... unable to get USB Settings Menu.
I faced the exact same problem. On my S3 GT-I9300, *#0808# was not working and I was unable to get the USB Settings Menu. Actually I needed to select "DM + MODEM + ADB" in USB settings. I achieve this goal using EFS Professional. I used EFS_Professional_2.1.73_Release. Just connect your phone to your computer, open EFS Professional, select tab "Samsung Tools" and select usb setting menu in drop down menu, the required menu will appear on your phone. This method is tested on 2 different S3 models where *#0808# was not working.... Hope this will help others.
On some Samsung phones it's possible to to access the modem and do some programming in QPST and DFS, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the Tab 2 10.1 to be recognized by these programs on the ports. On the Samsung Galaxy you can adjust the USB mode by dialing ##8778# in the phone app, but I can't find the equivalent with this tablet. Has anyone else had any luck?
Nevermind, figured it out.
Edit: JK, not going to be one of those people... The solution is to download Anycut or another custom shortcut creator and then add a shortcut to the Activity "phoneutil." There may be multiple listings of this, if so it's the third one down.
Hi everyone this is my first post so please be nice.
I am currently trying to connect my G900I to Nvtools. But i wont connect, i have been trying to find out why by searing but cant seem to find it, and am now tired as i have been trying to fix it for many hours.
I have rooted the phone and there is no tasks running in the background to block access to nv tools or nv-read write. But both programs wont connect, they can see the phone in usb menu.
Also my usb settings are: USB:AP USB settings: dm+modem+adb. also debugging is on.
I am out of ideas please if you have any sugestions leave a comment.
thanks you
My gf broke her galaxy s7 by dropping it. The screen is totally black, but the phone starts up and what not ( can hear the noises). I had the insurance through AT&T so the replacement phone was only $112. Anyways is there anyway to enable USB debugging on the phone from the PC. I have downloaded minimal Adb and fast boot, but when I open up the prompt and typed in "ADB shell." It said no devices or emulators found. The phone is showing up as a G930A on my PC, but when I goto access it everything is blank. I have tried Dr fone (does not support S7) and smart switch. Is there anyway to get into this phone. I am trying to make sure I have all her info saved before shipping the phone back.
I know of no way to enable USB debugging without a working screen. If the phone has a passcode, this will reduce the likelihood of being able to enable the debug option.
There is no passcode, but based on your info and what I have been finding searching around no one seems to think its really possible.
Thanks
So I had a broken USB port for a while, but since I want to pull data off my phone (including, if possible, the apps that I needed 2FA to enable like WhatsApp and so on, since I'm currently in Europe for the next 6-12 months and AT&T prepaid doesn't allow me to receive text messages or phone calls).
I bought a replacement daughterboard for the USB connector, and pulled the back of the phone off, removed the old USB connection board, and replaced it with this one. However, I've got some weird problems and I'm not sure if its hardware or software related.
When plugging the phone into USB, there's no indication on the telephone that the phone is charging, there's no indication that the phone has some connection to the computer, the computer doesn't display anything about the phone or allow me to access storage, and ADB can't find the device despite trying about 7 different methods and combinations of drivers, ADB programs, etc.
So I'd believe that my new daughterboard is either broken internally or some other issue ... except ODIN works flawlessly, as I got the inital step of loading the combo firmware to work without issue. (linked here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/root_method_rev_b-11_bootloader_using_combo_firmware.4374741/). But I can't get safestrap to work, because it relies on ADB, and ADB still doesn't have any way to connect to the device.
When I start the phone in download mode, I'm able to pull up a device with the Hardware ID USB\VID_04E8&PID_685D&REV_0100, but ADB doesn't recognize it. When I start the phone in any other method, the device doesn't register in device manager. It's a similar story when I tried reaching the phone with ADB from my linux desktop, as "something" exists in download mode, but adb has no ability to actually see the device or make a connection.
As far as avoiding obvious pitfalls, I enabled development mode / USB debugging / OEM unlock in the stock firmware I was running before, and also enabled dev mod/usb debug in the flashed firmware from that page.
It's quite possible that flashing the Combination firmware already wiped my data, as I'm not sure if it does it or not (after scouring the internet, it's pretty much the only option to get root with the B/11 bootloader so it was worth a shot), but ultimately I'd like to try and resolve this ADB issue so that I can actually finish the steps and see if it will work or not.
I just don't know what to troubleshoot next to try and get ADB to work.
To add on to this, I tried reaching out to AT&T to see if I can use my S8+ (VoLTE and all that jazz capable) to receive text messages while abroad here, but they won't let me use the phone even though I'm already abroad, since if it's not compatible with their network in the US it won't be compatible with their roaming network abroad. So I really do have to do the ole root trick.
