Hi!
After a few days of misery with custom ROMs and finally bricking my TF300T I did a radical wipe to start from scratch with the stock ROM. But first let me explain my problem with the custom ROMs: WiFi doesn't activate, seems like it's missing some drivers or something. Without WiFi my tablet is useless. I've tried 3 different ROMs and nothing worked. Then i flashed the latest ASUS stock ROM via fastboot --> blob-file and theeeeeeen...

Needless to say I was angry, confused, mad, dissapointed and wanted to smash that stupid thing to the ground...
So I searched a little and stumbled upon this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44244313&postcount=12
To make it short: It works! :good:
This guy saved my ass! But it also means you do a FULL wipe including your user data and everything - you really start from scratch. User data had to be deleted because I had to get rid of the encryption password. For me it was worth it because it also shows that it's not a hardware failure and the WiFi is working correctly...

How did you manage to get your tablet into fastboot because I can not get into fastboot it just loops on the Asus logo every time it turns on.
Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
When you are on latest bootloader just press & hold Power + Vol down, when the tablet is powered down. You'll then see three icons and don't have to do anything further because the tablet is now in fastboot mode...
When "RCK" is highlighted and you press Vol up, you'll start the recovery (CWM or TWRP, if you have flashed one)...

I know this. The thing is I don't even get these choices it just hangs on the Asus logo (the one that has the words "this device is unlocked" in the top left or right of the screen. ) and goes nowhere and then hangs every time I try to pull up the boot option menu to select recovery or fastboot.

So even when you press & hold Power + Vol down nothing happens? Very strange...
Normally you should see "This device is unlocked" only for a second then the tablet starts the fastboot mode. Have you tried pressing these two buttons longer? Like 10 seconds or something? When you got stuck with the logo the tablet should reboot and hopefully go into fastboot mode. If not you have a serious problem...

Could you give a more detailed explanation? What do you get in recovery and what recovery do you have?
battery pull and reboot into recovery
It says "Android system recovery <3e>"
Reboot system now
apply sdcard zip
wipe date/factory reset
wipe cache
But it won't let me select any of those options with the power key. I can only move up and down using the volume keys. :/
I did do a battery pull and reboot into recovery as far as I am concerned. I just cannot select any of the options once I am there.
I don't mean to be a bother, but can someone help me. I tried doing a search but couldn't find a solution. I hope the phone isn't totally useless.

Long time member, first time poster. So I know your not an android noob
Why don't you try flashing the recovery again using NVFlash
Haha yes, but this is my first Android phone. I used to have PPC phones lol.
I attempted to use NVflash and failed horribly. There are so many guides I ended up getting confused. Command Prompt would not allow me to do anything so I must have done something wrong.
You try this yet?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
NVflash really is simple to run and load even if you don't use the above method.

I heard some people have broken power button where the power button is always in the "enabled" state, and that will cause volume buttons to not work. I wonder if you have the same issue though, if thats the case you will have to either replace the power button or send it to Samsung.
I don't have the Nexus S right now, but have to tried the command: adb reboot recovery. Also I thought you can boot directly into recovery by power + volume up.
If your power button is broken you are stuck there on that screen.
Does the phone boot up into the os? If so reboot into recovery from the os. If you flashed a ROM I assume its rooted. Can use any app that allows booting into recovery ( quickboot goomanger ROM manager ROM toolbox etc) or in terminal type such and hit enter. Then type reboot recovery and hit enter.

the problem is the i did a flash a rom and now the rom dont boot up or anything and i did a back up but i cant use the buttons to make a selection to get into recovery over the fast boot as i show in the picture!
the only way i get into the fastboot is holding the volume up and connect the usb into the port and them get into the fast boot screen but no more from there
That's what I figured. At that point you are pretty much screwed,
You need to get the power button to work / unstick so you can fastboot in order to do anything.
Hi there. Have you figure a solution. I ran into the EXACT SAME ****ty situation and samsung says they have no fix no parts for it!

Samsung can fix it if you send it. The solution is to get your power button repaired. There's nothing else to really do.

Unless they got the part, then it's a no. Every so said "solution" ends up failing, you're just pushing a bit the date. Only replacing it really works.
i have temp fix
this is what i did may be you can fix it like this
i take off the battery out,
place back
Hold down volume and power
now connect the usb cable from the pc
keep holding the buttons we dont need to go into bootloader, if you can see the lower lights on you okay
now check the usb icon in your computer and if your computer recognize you are cool
Now before i have this problem i did a back up of my rom and i install touch recovery
now you have to see your options and if you have the twr recovery even better since you can transfer files over your phone while in recovery mod
okay i did install this toolkit
Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766475
and since my computer recognize the usb and my nexus phone
i did get into reboot recovery mode in the advanced utilities you can figure out the rest since i dont know much!
since i did a back up i just restored and i did flash another rom which let you wake up the phone by the volume key
so i transfer the rom files and flash then while on recovery mode try installing the goomanager to get into recovery since this means your power button dont work
this is the rom
CyberGR-MOD|NS.NGN ver. 14 Hybrid Mix ICS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425344
if you have luck flashing this rom
just go into CyberGR-MOD in the setting section and select lockscreen options and check volume wake
now to lock the phone just install any app from play store like Lock Screen Widget
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droidmania.lockscreenwidget
and remember if you battery dies, just connect it into charger or usb cord and the phone ll boot again
Hope this help some of you who have this problem
thanks and any question i ll check later!
So a fresh One S
Used Hasoon200's all in One to unlock bootloader and root.
Flashed CWM
followed instructions to load Dark Jelly
will only reboot into recovery.
I can not boot into bootloader, I have tried
..adb reboot bootloader
..reboot phone holding downvolume
its my bosses phone so any help would be appreciated. whoopsie.
Can not use RUU because it has to bet into fastboot.
I have pushed files using ADB push XXXX /sdcard and the files go through the transfer process but then are not visible in /sdcard.

Looks like your new here. Just a heads up you need to post questions in the Q & A forum.
To get into the boot loader this is how I do it.
Turn off the phone
Hold down Volume -
Hold down power for 5 secs then release while continuing to hold volume -
Then keep pressing power over and over until the bootloader pops up and stop.
It sounds weird but it works every time for me.

Why do you have a Ville XC? Was it shipped S-OFF?
Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
make sure your phone is off, not hibernating (neat HTC feature)
to completely turn off your HTC, hold the powerbutton alone for some seconds until your home/menu/.. buttons start to blink, when they stop blinking, your device is off, you can let go the power button.
now hold power and vol down to enter bootloader.
other option
if you have htc booting into android, enable USB debugging, download ADB-tools, and enter "adb reboot bootloader" or "adb reboot recovery"
good luck
or remove the battery, ah, bummer we can't, we have a One S

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dunno what the hell is up with my phone.. but i finally got it
the trick for me was.. actually i dunno what finally made it take
but after you flash recovery from fastboot..
volume down to reboot to recovery ..
then my screen went black w/backlight i got pissed and i unplugged the usb cable from my computer then i saw twrp flash across the screen for a split second lmao
i was like OHHH sh$% lol
so i just started pressing buttons.. and discovered my phone was in some sort of weird lock state.. i held the power button down and tapped the volume up key.. if i let the puwer button go the screen goes back to black .. so while still holding on the power button i swiped across the screen to unlock and WALLAH (spelling) i was in twrp..
and i got root.. the screen locked itself to the black w/backlight a few times during the process but i just kept repeating..
i dunno what the hell all of the that was about .. but maybe itll help somebody else..
thanks again everyone for your replys very much appreciated

Which TWRP image did you flash? And what stock keeping unit (SKU) of phone (WW,TW,CN or JP) do you have?
This might be a TWRP bug on an android 7 kernel.
Hello,
First: i'm sorry if i don't speak perfectly english but I hope someone could help me.
I got a one and a half years old Honor 6X BLN-L21 and it is almost bricked.
A year ago I tried to unlock the bootloader, to root my phone. I did a mistake which made me want to get back to normal rom by removing TWRP.
Since this moment, I can't update my phone or relock bootloader because:
- Every reboot there is a "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" message
{

}
- I can't lock my bootloader because I can't access bootloader, because it needs a reboot and I get this message every reboot
- I can't update my phone for the same reason
- I can't access to recovery because it reboots everytime I turn off my phone one second later so it makes impossible to access recovery with volume buttons + power button
So I can't put a new rom with sdcard dload folder.
I can access my phone by waiting for it to get discharged, and then powering it with usb cable, and it boots normally.
Please help me, I really want to move to android Oreo.
Thanks
You should be able to boot to fastboot.
Connect phone to pc, press power key and once its in the process of shutdown, keep pressing the volume down key.

Power button to the shutdown, and then volume down, but it doesn't have the time because whatever i do, it restarts automatically as fast as possible
EDIT: I didn't understood why, but fastboot worked suddenly. I relocked my bootloader but I can't update my phone. Stuck in EMUI 5.1 because when I update eRecovery says my data partition is highly damaged and need to format. I did 2 formats but the eRecovery still blocks update with the same message.

Why did you relock the boot loader tho. Unlock it and then follow Shashanks Guide. Works perfectly.
