Could you give a more detailed explanation? What do you get in recovery and what recovery do you have?

battery pull and reboot into recovery

It says "Android system recovery <3e>"
Reboot system now
apply sdcard zip
wipe date/factory reset
wipe cache
But it won't let me select any of those options with the power key. I can only move up and down using the volume keys. :/

I did do a battery pull and reboot into recovery as far as I am concerned. I just cannot select any of the options once I am there.

I don't mean to be a bother, but can someone help me. I tried doing a search but couldn't find a solution. I hope the phone isn't totally useless.

Long time member, first time poster. So I know your not an android noob
Why don't you try flashing the recovery again using NVFlash

Haha yes, but this is my first Android phone. I used to have PPC phones lol.
I attempted to use NVflash and failed horribly. There are so many guides I ended up getting confused. Command Prompt would not allow me to do anything so I must have done something wrong.

You try this yet?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
NVflash really is simple to run and load even if you don't use the above method.

when you hold both volume buttons and plug in to pc, do you hear the device connected sound from windows? do you see the phone listed in device manager? i forgot what it's listed as in this mode, but i'm positive it say's nvidia something something usb in the name.
try a different usb port? a different pc? do a system restore and start over?

Yes I hear it connect... I installed the correct driver for APX and everything. I tried two different ports. :/ My only issue is the clockwork. I'm so lost.

I heard some people have broken power button where the power button is always in the "enabled" state, and that will cause volume buttons to not work. I wonder if you have the same issue though, if thats the case you will have to either replace the power button or send it to Samsung.
I don't have the Nexus S right now, but have to tried the command: adb reboot recovery. Also I thought you can boot directly into recovery by power + volume up.
If your power button is broken you are stuck there on that screen.
Does the phone boot up into the os? If so reboot into recovery from the os. If you flashed a ROM I assume its rooted. Can use any app that allows booting into recovery ( quickboot goomanger ROM manager ROM toolbox etc) or in terminal type such and hit enter. Then type reboot recovery and hit enter.

the problem is the i did a flash a rom and now the rom dont boot up or anything and i did a back up but i cant use the buttons to make a selection to get into recovery over the fast boot as i show in the picture!
the only way i get into the fastboot is holding the volume up and connect the usb into the port and them get into the fast boot screen but no more from there
That's what I figured. At that point you are pretty much screwed,
You need to get the power button to work / unstick so you can fastboot in order to do anything.
Hi there. Have you figure a solution. I ran into the EXACT SAME ****ty situation and samsung says they have no fix no parts for it!

Samsung can fix it if you send it. The solution is to get your power button repaired. There's nothing else to really do.

Unless they got the part, then it's a no. Every so said "solution" ends up failing, you're just pushing a bit the date. Only replacing it really works.
i have temp fix
this is what i did may be you can fix it like this
i take off the battery out,
place back
Hold down volume and power
now connect the usb cable from the pc
keep holding the buttons we dont need to go into bootloader, if you can see the lower lights on you okay
now check the usb icon in your computer and if your computer recognize you are cool
Now before i have this problem i did a back up of my rom and i install touch recovery
now you have to see your options and if you have the twr recovery even better since you can transfer files over your phone while in recovery mod
okay i did install this toolkit
Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766475
and since my computer recognize the usb and my nexus phone
i did get into reboot recovery mode in the advanced utilities you can figure out the rest since i dont know much!
since i did a back up i just restored and i did flash another rom which let you wake up the phone by the volume key
so i transfer the rom files and flash then while on recovery mode try installing the goomanager to get into recovery since this means your power button dont work
this is the rom
CyberGR-MOD|NS.NGN ver. 14 Hybrid Mix ICS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425344
if you have luck flashing this rom
just go into CyberGR-MOD in the setting section and select lockscreen options and check volume wake
now to lock the phone just install any app from play store like Lock Screen Widget
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droidmania.lockscreenwidget
and remember if you battery dies, just connect it into charger or usb cord and the phone ll boot again
Hope this help some of you who have this problem
thanks and any question i ll check later!

Looks like your new here. Just a heads up you need to post questions in the Q & A forum.
To get into the boot loader this is how I do it.
Turn off the phone
Hold down Volume -
Hold down power for 5 secs then release while continuing to hold volume -
Then keep pressing power over and over until the bootloader pops up and stop.
It sounds weird but it works every time for me.

Why do you have a Ville XC? Was it shipped S-OFF?
Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
make sure your phone is off, not hibernating (neat HTC feature)
to completely turn off your HTC, hold the powerbutton alone for some seconds until your home/menu/.. buttons start to blink, when they stop blinking, your device is off, you can let go the power button.
now hold power and vol down to enter bootloader.
other option
if you have htc booting into android, enable USB debugging, download ADB-tools, and enter "adb reboot bootloader" or "adb reboot recovery"
good luck
or remove the battery, ah, bummer we can't, we have a One S

[Tip] Unbrick your TF300T (fastboot, full wipe)

User data had to be deleted because I had to get rid of the encryption password. For me it was worth it because it also shows that it's not a hardware failure and the WiFi is working correctly...

How did you manage to get your tablet into fastboot because I can not get into fastboot it just loops on the Asus logo every time it turns on.
Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
When you are on latest bootloader just press & hold Power + Vol down, when the tablet is powered down. You'll then see three icons and don't have to do anything further because the tablet is now in fastboot mode...
When "RCK" is highlighted and you press Vol up, you'll start the recovery (CWM or TWRP, if you have flashed one)...

I know this. The thing is I don't even get these choices it just hangs on the Asus logo (the one that has the words "this device is unlocked" in the top left or right of the screen. ) and goes nowhere and then hangs every time I try to pull up the boot option menu to select recovery or fastboot.

So even when you press & hold Power + Vol down nothing happens? Very strange...
Normally you should see "This device is unlocked" only for a second then the tablet starts the fastboot mode. Have you tried pressing these two buttons longer? Like 10 seconds or something? When you got stuck with the logo the tablet should reboot and hopefully go into fastboot mode. If not you have a serious problem...

[Q] I need help with my OnePlus after double root (i assume)

I did flash the lollipop alpha. Realizing that there's nothing much I can do I decided to go back for CM11S. During the process I re root the phone try to flash the CM11S. And after finished flashing the phone won't boot up (even with any combination of buttons). My computer didn't pick up the phone as well. Does this mean that my One+ is bricked? Is there any solution?
Please help
My OnePlus screen never turn on after this happen to me. All the response from the phone was vibrates. Vol up/ down + power, I tried everything, but only vibrate and nothing happen after that.
If there's any help I would appreciate!!!!
Have you tried this? https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...-solution-to-all-kinds-of-soft-bricks.142870/
Also, when you try to boot into fastboot, it does vibrate, right? Your computer should acknowledge the device is connected if that's the case.

I have the same exact problem. My computer is acknowledged that the phone is being connected, it makes a classic windows sound of connected device into USB. But visual notification is not there as well as there is no new device displayed in the system. This just happens when I try to fastboot (power on + up button).

I hard bricked my opo. Please help!!

Apparently when i was flashing rom, i think i had hard bricked my opo. I couldnt even boot into anything (even fastboot, recovery). When i turn it on, I couldnt see anything on the screen , there was a vibration and that's all. My PC couldnt even detect adb. I tried the method below but unfortunately, the thin cable that is connected to my vol buttons, i accidentally broke it so i couldnt use my vol buttons. I'm only left with my power button. I tried reconnecting the thin cable by holding it as close as possible to the part where i broke it, and pressing the vol up + power button at the same time but my PC couldnt detect any input. Is there any way for me or should i say goodbye to my beloved opo?? :crying::crying:

Yup i read it. It doesnt require me to be in fastboot mode but it says to press Volume UP + Power which i assume would trigger the qualcomm drivers or something like that during hard bricked.
Anyone?? Can i simply solder the cable, will it work??
I'm in desperate need of some help. I tried to root my OPO after successfully managing to recover it to CM11 and install TWRP. However, the SuperSU installation stalled the phone, so I couldn't be bothered waiting and hard shut down the phone by holding the power button. And now when I try and use this tool again I get this. The MD5 log says the phone is "8974_msimage.mbn: OK
