[Q] Wi-Fi no longer works after converting to GPe - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried to convert my Moto G to MototoolAIO, so I downloaded it along with the GPe Rom, and then I clicked the Convert to GPe button.
On the fastboot screen, it showed some errors: hab check failed for recovery, hab check failed for boot and Invalid PIV signed system image.
Frightened, I tried to revert it back to the stock rom, luckily I was able to (4.3 JB).
But, the problem I was facing is there was no longer the "Bootloader Unlocked" Warning screen anymore, I thought I flashed the fixed logo.bin, but it wasn't, it's the stock one...but it's not a big deal...While going through the setup wizard, I realized that Wifi cannot be turned on anymore, since the screen showed: Turn on Wi-Fi to see availble networks. Normally it would turn on by itself, but now it didn't...I realized that there was something wrong about it...
Then, I open the Settings and try to turn the Wifi on, but it won't...it will just switch back to the "OFF" position while it should be at the "ON" position and changed to blue, not grey...
I thought there was some error when converting to GPe, so I decided to flash the whole GPe Rom again...using fastboot method...
Finally, I saw the unlocked lock on the bootlogo, and the phone did boot, but it's just the same, the Wi-Fi now is stuck at the "ON" position, while not turning blue, it just stay greyed...
Then, I dial *#*#4636#*#* to see how the wifi is, and there are some lines:
Wi-Fi state: DISABLED
...
Supplicant state: UNINITIALIZED
I also tried flashing both the GPe stock rom and both the JB and KK motorola stock Rom, still, with no hope of getting the Wi-Fi to work..
Idk what to do now, please help

@Zerelth ... Sorry to be conventional but have you tried a system/factory reset?

5.0.1 manual flash - getting stuck on software update screen

Hi all,
I downloaded 5.0.1 factory image and flashed all the files (except for user data and cache) through fastboot and everything went smoothly....once the phone reboots, it asks for language etc - then connects to my wifi and gets stuck on "Software update" screen - it shows "checking for updates" and nothing happens. I tried rebooting and turning off the wifi connectivity and it still does the same thing over cell network. There's a skip at the bottom but it's deactivated so I can't click on the skip. Not sure why it got stuck on this screen....anyone seen this happen?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks
I left it overnight but, still its stuck ont he same screen. I made sure I did flash Hammerhead
I made lrx22c - so it's not the issue of flashing wrong files
any help please?
Interesting thing is I tried to flash back to 5.0 and I still get the same error message.
I know it still has all my data as it automatically connects to my wifi.
Not sure what am I doing wrong?

Were you on 4.4.4 before? If so you're going to have to flash userdata.

Can't setup device - Unfortunately settings has stopped

I have a 3rd gen Moto G I've not used in a while and wanted to get it set up. I'd previously factory-reset the device and was going to sell it, turns out it's not worth a great deal so I wanted to use it as a spare.
When I turn the device on I get the green/blue screen to choose the language, I click the yellow next button. The device says "turning on wifi" and stays like that, eventually it will say "Unfortunately settings has stopped" and take me back to the beginning.
I've tried:
Putting my sim in hoping I could skip the wifi - 'skip' is greyed out
Doing a factory reset from recovery
Restarting the device is safe mode
None of the above worked. Is the device bricked? Is there anyway to flash a ROM without having access to the OS on the device?

You can get to the bootloader, so you can flash a factory image via fastboot. Look in the General section, there is a how to flash thread and a firmware thread.

Moto E 1st Gen, google services/gapps stopped error at welcome screen

Hi
My Moto E was running on OTA 5.1 update.
Then I had to do a factory reset from 'Settings' and now it's behaving abnormally
It's either stuck at the boot logo 'M' or if it goes past it after multiple retries, it brings me to 'Welcome screen' with 'google services' , 'gapps' stopped working errors. It goes past a little till 'Checking connection' but then again returns to the same state of welcome screen
I have tried hard reset, but no luck
Tried flashing 4.4.4 Stock using links from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2759495
My fastboot gives error at some steps, Mac OSx so not sure if it is flashed or not.
Any ideas how to proceed ?
Whoops !! SOLVED
Whenever I tried flashing stock 4.4.4 image, the fastboot screen(on my device) always used to crib, 'invalid PIV signed image'. So maybe the image was never flashed
Googling a bit more I thought of first unlocking the bootloader, then trying the flash. It didn't gave that warning then
Flashed successfully and I am now on good old 4.4.4 Kitkat

XT1225 start up in Factory mode by default

Hello everybody.
Got a weird bug on Moto MAXX XT1225 - after unlocking bootloader, it's loading by default in factory mode, with CommServer active and no signal for cellular.
It can be fixed by loading in fastboot, and press "Start" from there, and then all works normal. But if I turn phone off, and make a cold start, it's happening again.
I flashed Resurrection Remix, and still have this problem, although there is no CommServer in firmware, but still no signal, till start it manually from fastboot.
Solved by flashing with stock firmware. I wish there was a simpler solution, like wipe cache/dalvik command, but specifically for bootloader.
