Modded HTC Dot View! - One (M8) Themes and Apps

Hi everyone!
Since I haven't seen it anywhere yet on the internet, I took it upon myself to customize the HTC Dot Matrix apk in several colors. I posted downloads of several colors on my blog here. If anyone is interested be sure to check it out and enjoy! Thanks

I was going say, work with the guy who did the mod for Venom Dotview...in their settings, their customization is greyed out, saying, coming soon. Would be cool to implement this into a rom. But thank you for sharing this...very cool.

When I want to install it, it writes instalation failed.
I don't know what is wrong...

Sorry but may i ask a request. I like the red white but do u think u can make one at 361dpi.. i would greatly appreciate it

I'm not sure how to actually change it for the dpi, sorry. If you find me some information about how dot view reacts to dpi change, I can look into it

It says installation failed...
What rom r u using?

Don't install it but push it to the right system folder. It's system/priv-app folder if i am correct in my quickness.

Tried that but doesnot work with arhd maybe due to signature verification.Maybe it should work with viper.
It seems we have to wait for mike to fix this.

Tried on viper works awesome. :good:

When I try to install the file, I get "App Not Installed. An existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed."

Hi, can you send me the original dot view source?

OK so I'm lost how do you install this its doing my head in

OP should make a flashable installer for the noobs on here, here's a blank zip. Just drop in the apk named properly (same as the system one) and it will overwrite it.

No, you dont have to install it just copy the files and set the permissions and then reboot. The system will automatically install it when you reboot. Delete it and do the steps again, but dont install it, just copy the files and set the permissions and reboot, it should work. Hope this helps.

Depends on what you like, but it show you the lyrics(where they are actualy singing), it downloads the Album art, it syncs using MotoCast(If you want). I think it's the best Music player for Motorola. It's really good, better than 'Play Music'. But it depends on what you like, I like the lyrics part and that it downloads the Album art.
Edit1: By the way, this is the Stock Motorola music player, just that Motorola didn't include it in the ICS leak for Atrix 2.

Is there a good way to change permissions for a large amount of files? All of the file explorers that I have tried *say* that they successfully changed permissions, but in reality only one of the files shows the proper 644 permissions. I did read about using Terminal Emulator to do it, but I'm not good at interpreting the sparse instructions. I really don't want to go through all 60 sound files and change them individually
Did you rename the sounds you added to the name of the sound you were replacing?

[Guide] How to install Google L keyboard on your rooted device

Thanks to @bejunk
As seen here you can get the files to add the Google L stock keyboard onto your device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2796129
you have to manual install.
1. extract all files.
2. move the ''LatinImeGoogle.apk'' to /system/app; long press on APK, choose change permissions, now make the ticks like in attached picture.
3. move the ''libjni_latinimegoogle.so'' to /system/lib; like above, long press, & change permissions.
4. reboot system, then go to settings & activate keyboard

This worked great. I love the look and it seems google finally figured out how to give more word choices. Does anyone know if there's a way to enable the long-press secondary keys? Its the one thing that slows down my typing.
Or simply use the .apk for non-rooted devices. That's been working great on my rooted device.
Uninstalled Google Keyboard first.
Flashed in Safestrap recovery.
Worked.
I managed to change the theme to material, but is there any way to get it material white?

What about rooted but no recovery?
My S5 is rooted but doesn't have a custom recovery because I don't plan on doing any heavy modding, like flashing ROMs or anything. The 'no-root' apk didn't work, but I can't flash a zip... What do I do?
Did you get some kind of error message when you tried to install the .apk?
