Hey everyone i got it to work the way that i did it was i backed up my data/rom and i extracted the zip file. Then i used a app in the market called root explorer then i went into system/app then i deleted latin apk then i took the latin apk from the extracted zip and copied it in system/app then i rebooted my phone and went back into root explorer and then i went into system/app and went to latin apk and clicked install and it should work

Does it actually work though?

nice looking keyboard.

I got it to install through extracting the zip and pushing the files through adb to my phone, haven't encountered any errors yet while using it except for that ever annoying fact of first day early adopters remorse of not having a dictionary/auto correct working yet

There's a screenshot function built into MIUI. Press menu and volume down at the same time. You'll hear a shutter sound. The screenshot will be in /sdcard/MIUI.

MarkHUK and the team are working on it. They have the source code, and they are planning a fully-international release in the future.
They will need the city codes for your country. Check out THIS THREAD at miui-dev.com, and post your city codes.

either way is fine, once you're in a "message" or on any screen that will open the keyboard, once its open tap and hold in the text area till you get a pop up asking what "input" to use, and then select the keyboard of your choice, i would flash it though, i flash install everything lol.
I did the "regular" way that you said (the input method) and it was force closing. That's what I meant by it not working lol. Does it work for sure if I flash it?
I installed both ways. It works but fc when I choose vibrate option.

flash otherwise itll forceclose
Yes flash it, and u should be ok. Like I said I have yet to see issues with it, but I flash install everything.

got the keyboard working great, but if i turn on the word suggestion it FC's when i type the 2nd letter of a word. also when I open the dictionary app i get an error that the db file doesn't exist. if i don't turn on the word suggestion it works great but i notice i misspell lol
anyone get the dictionary working?

Don't think so... I tried the Zombie Killer - and after I downloaded from the market - it requested access to download additional content (30mb) from another source - so still think the cap is in place still.

R800x 2.3.3 Notification Toggles

After doing some more research I found this thread which gave me a good starting point. Basically I just copied all of the quickpanel related code/images from the attached file to the stock SystemUI.apk from Verizon's stock 2.3.3.
I'm still learning, though it shouldn't be too hard, so give me a little time. I'm trying to decide if I want the auto rotate button to be for brightness, airplane mode or other.
I've uploaded a second version. The auto rotation toggle has been replaced with the flashlight toggle.
Anyway, here is a working SystemUI.apk with notification toggles.

I'm using the latest Linux experimental build of APK Multitool in Snow Leopard.
Umm, as far as it working with the R800i as well, I'm not 100% sure. I'm more of a hacker than a developer. I think it should work as long as you are still running 2.3.3, otherwise probably not.
