Hi there;
I reinstall the stock rom on my nexus 5. At the beginning all my apps get well installed. But I see that Zooper Pro Widget didn't install, I try to install it manually but I receive the message error RPC:S-3...
I found a thread on XDA a tried everything were mentioned there but nothing works .
The problem seems to be with Zooper cause I can install other application without problems.
Any idea ?
Did you install the latest stock image, 4.4.3? Maybe zopper isn't compatible with it yet

Have you tried removing your gmail account and then adding it back?

I also tried to reflash 4.4.2 stock rom but have the same issue with zooper pro ! WTF ?!

Got the same issue at the moment with an app (Scrum Poker).
I tried clearing stuff (google play and google play services - didn't touch the play framework data yet) but to no avail. The app is constantly nagging me about updates and I will probably end up uninstalling it.

I hope you will have the same luck I have. I had to wait just one day and everyhing seems to be good now.
It seems that's a a random issue. I was updating my apps when I only had this error with CM Browser.
This is happening to me too, I thought that it's because I rooted with towelroot.
I had to download the apk using apk downloader chrome extension and sideload it.
I could not update using play store. I uninstalled it tried to install it fresh but I still got the error. After I sideloaded it, I uninstalled it and tried to install it directly from Google play and it worked!
Edit: the apps that I could not update were gtasks and badland.

Did the same, and now I don't get the nag about the update. Guess there was something odd, since I had to "force" to download the latest, so maybe the error is actually on google's side and I have been resetting and reconfiguring stuff like a mad man for nothing
Exactly.I cleared data for Google play and Google play services, uninstalled updates for Google play, I even cleared data for Google framework but nothing helped. It could be a Google issue.

More tests:
I can install a new app or uninstall an app and then reinstall it without a problem.
It seems that only apps that have updates generate this error.
*EDIT* There's a new update for rayman fiesta run and the update worked so the problem could be fixed already
*EDIT2* I uninstalled Badland and it still gives the error when I try to install it fresh.

I'm assuming this is perhaps an issue on Google's end somehow. I've never had this error, as I've always been stock/rooted. However, I am now getting this error when trying to update the ESPN Sportscenter app. I figure I'll just wait to see if it resolves itself.

Yesterday I was finally able to install CM Browser. I didn't do anything to fix it.
In my case force downloading the latest version from play store (using the chrome extension on my desktop) did the trick. It seems that the version that google was serving me by default was 2.3 though it was notifying me that it had an update ready.
Guess it's some sort of caching issue, but for me it was annoying (was so close to reset the phone).

Just an update from my post above. I was getting the error all day yesterday trying to update the Sportscenter app. This morning, it updated fine. I didn't do anything at all. I guess a little patience does go a long way.

I recently rooted my phone so it wiped everything and I'm back to a clean phone but I am missing updates to stock apps. I thought they would get pushed on their own but its been three days now and they haven't updated. Anyway I can force an update? I already tried clearing market cache but it didn't work.

You mean updates like maps 5.9.0 and gmail 2.3.5? Then you'll have to wait until it's your device's turn for an autoupdate again. Basically it's rolled out in badges and it's not your turn now, maybe it'll take a few days.
Haven't heared of a way to force updates. Try signing in to Google servers, *#*#checkin#*#*, but I think that's for OS OTAs only.
Or you'll have someone send you the apks. If you have cwm recovery you can use gapp.zip from CM. Another option (root req) is to get market enabler, delete teh stock app via TB and then redownload it.

Looking at his name I think he's German as well, we don't have access to GMail app via the market here, we have to wait for OTA updates (or use market enabler).

I've had a similar problem with stock 4.1.2 on my skyrocket (via t-mobile) and the solution I found was to shut the phone down (power down completely, not just "restart"), and then turn the phone back on. It would then connect to my wifi network and download an update from google play then lapse into the same problem...but at least this way it actually downloads and installs (even if only one program per power cycle).
Any better solutions?
Edit: Just installed CM 10.2 nightly, and I have not yet ran into this problem, I am able to install multiple apps without re-starting so far.

When I power-cycled, after it booted up, without touching my phone, it would connect to my wifi and try to resume/complete any downloads from g-play. It would only successfully complete the first one, and it would still have the status/icon "downloading", but it also would complete it and install correctly too.
See if you start something in google play to download, let it try for a minute or so, then turn off your phone (shut down). Once it's shut down completely, wait 5-10 seconds, then power it back on again, leave it be for a few minutes, and see if it finished the download. I have mobile data almost always shut off, so that might be part of it as well.
Remove your gmail account from the phone, reboot and add it back.
To do this:
Go to settings, accounts, click on (your [email protected]) right where it says sync on/off click on your email and hit the menu tab on the phone and hit remove account.
This has worked for me in the past.

Having same problem on stock device with no root.
Also noticed that Google+ doesn't work and crashes with the Google Search update. Removing the Google Search update fixes everything. Have submitted crash reports to Google for both defects.
Is there a way to only select the last update prior to Search v3.18 in the Play Store? Going back to the stock Google Search on the GN10.1 is a big step backwards.
Thanks.

I had the same problem - not rooted, stock Note 10.1. Run KIES and there is a new Note 10.1 firmware update that fixes this problem. After the update from Samsung, Google Search and Google Plus run normally - no more blank black screens.
Also - before I updated the firmware, I tried uninstalling all updates to Search without reinstalling updates and it worked. The Samsung firmware update fixes the problem and allows all Google updates to work.

Hi, I have a Nexus 5, completely stock 4.4.2, never tampered
Whenever there are multiple updates in the Play Store and I press "Update", the first app updates, then the second one starts downloading,
but the download hangs at some point, then after a few seconds the entire Play Store app closes without any message.
After that I can open the Play Store again and try to update the apps, but they only update one at a time, because on the second update it always crashes.
All the Google apps are at the latest versions, Play Store has version 4.6.17. This is happening for a while now, but I can't pinpoint it to a certain version of the Play Store app, but in the past I did not have this problem.
I've tried restarting the device, clearing data and cache for the Play Store app, clearing the cached data for the entire system, even switching the runtime (btw the problem is happening on both Dalvik and ART), but nothing helped. I also have enough Available space: 4 GB as reported in Settings/Storage.
On my wife's Nexus 4, also completely stock and with updated Google apps, the problem it's not happening, so it's not something in my environment.
Did anyone else have this problem? I searched the forums but found nothing relevant.
Any advice?
Thank you.

Hi
I have the exact same problem on my galaxy note 3 so nothing to add except that I tried a little trick that allows it to finish the updates without having to restart the store. I close it immediately after the batch download starts and then it continues updating in the background. it works most of the times but not always. Are you rooted? What custom recovery are you using? I myself am all stock, never rooted or anything.
And how long does it take to clear the cache from recovery? On my Nexus 5 with stock recovery it takes very long, around 5 or 10 minutes the first time I do it in succession, but it finishes succesfully. If I repeat the clearing of cache without rebooting then it takes a few seconds, like normal.
I read somewhere that it might be an issue with errors on the cache partition and that reformatting this partition might solve it, but I cannot do it from the stock recovery. Maybe if you have the option of reformatting the /cache partition in your custom recovery you should try it.
Another thing that you can do is try to catch the errors with logcat, if you have root you can use an app, I used adb to save a logcat and found some error messages related to the installing of apps but could not find how to solve them. I will post the logcat later.
If you can get a logcat maybe you can post it and we will compare the errors.

Yes I am rooted using CWM Based Recovery 6.0.4.7 with SuperSU 1.94 and BusyBox 1.22.1-Stericson on stock Samsung firmware Android 4.4.2 NB4 unbranded
clearing the cache from CWM recovery only takes a few seconds in my case. I did not try reformatting or anything else because I don't want to risk bricking it.

I have the same issue. Stock rooted...
I don't have a nexus but I was using a google edition ported ROM for my HTC One and was having the same issue drive me nuts. I flashed the stock sense ROM back and the store works fine now. It seems like this problem is google edition devices/OS. I never found a fix though, except to enable automatic updating so it happens in the background. That worked for me
indeed the updates work fine in the background but I would really like to know what causes this issue
Those having this problem can you guys make sure you have the latest Google Play build? Latest is 4.8.20. Go to your play store, go to play store settings and at the bottom it should say 4.8.20. If your version is earlier than that, tap the build version and it should say there's a newer version and that it's installing. At that point, exit from the play store app, and give it a minute or two. Enter back into the play store app, and you repeat the steps to see that you have upgraded your play store build.
Sent using Etch-a-Sketch
Yes, the Play Store app is updated to the latest version. Now I already got the 4.4.3 update, but the issue is still appearing, but not everytime. I think it depends on the sizes of the updating apps, it might be something related to the cache partition. Can you guys try and clear the cache from the recovery and see how much it lasts? For me it lasts more than 5 minutes and it doesn't seem normal.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
I had the same issue on my S4. After the play store closed about 5 times today when updating apps I decided to Google it. I found someone with a similar issue, and their fix was to enable the Download Manager app, that had somehow been disabled. Mine was already enabled, but I cleared the cache from that app, and then I was able to update my remaining 5 or so apps with no crashes.
I'm not sure how permanent of a fix it is, but it's working so far. Don't know if I'll have to clear it again later or not.

It was my last resort. I had cleared app data. Uninstalled and reinstalled apps being affected, cleared cache through twrp. Nothing worked except a full clean install

Ahh, okay. I'm going to try and rip out Play Services. If I do that does all my Google data go away?

If you do that you'll get endless force closes of Google play services. Idk if your Google data would go with it (everything Google is pretty much stored on their servers so I really don't know what you would lose) but I wouldn't suggest doing this. Trying to navigate through your phone while constantly tapping OK to the message that something has force closed is extremely frustrating and difficult if not impossible.
I had the same issue 2 days ago. I'm stock rooted, btw. The problem appeared when I dirty flashed my stock rom on top of a stock rom. I didn't want to update manually cause I've already downloaded the newest firmware version. So I flashed the newest at hand or what's already in my PC. Then, I had a "google play services error" when logging in my gmail app, had a trouble signing in google now and endless loading on youtube. Did the same, cleared cache play services, guess, I got impatient and I uninstalled it, installed the 448 and 440 newest app but the same thing "google play services error" persisted. I also did the extreme, I did the full wipe and odin'd the new firmware, the problem was gone. Bump into a problem when I installed something and had to dirty flash again. Then, it happened again "google play services error" all over again.
TL;DR, lol, Long story short.
I solved it by just clearing google play services cache and uninstalled updates and let itself update again. I didn't have to flash or odin'd again..
I don't know if it will work for you, but it did for me.
