Glad you guys like the tools

I want to ask if this would work if i only want to remove the 'warning unlocked bootloader' logo on XT1022 ?

so does it mean... even if we unlock the bootloader, we can relock it again and hence our warranty is back

Motorola wanted more $$ than buying new phone then and now. Froze SEP 2014, purchased 18 months prior. k4 note bootloader unlock and twrp

K4 Note marshmallow version working fine with this method used(fingerprint works fine, xposed is there,Rooted) no bug found until now
Check it here
https://youtu.be/f4kfvGkoMOk
Rather than saying the method didn't worked please comment with error or problem you are facing
##if you get blank screen or phone again reboots to stock recovery, then do this enable oem unlock again in dev. Settings. This phone's Lollipop stock system sometimes relocks the bootloader by itself. Check it by entering this command in fastboot "fastboot getvar all" in end it will show if it is unlocked or not
+if it shows unlocked and phone on booting to recovery shows blank screen or bootloops
Do this go in sp flash tool
Select scatter file from extracted folder in patch and tick preloader file .get into advance mode of flash tool in write memory option select the recovery.by.gursewak.img file from recovery folder in file path. Change begin address to 0x2d80000 and region is EMMC_USER And click write and connect switched off phone to pc. After success .reboot the phone.

did the 6.0 come with unlocked bootloader or did you unlock it somehow??
Not working on Marshmallow. The part is Rooting first otherwise goes nothing. TWRP is not Installing. TWRP provided here is of Sevemaxs so as before is same.

Root Qiku Q Terra 808 (CP8692_I02), unlock bootloader & flash TWRP recovery

Hello Friends,
At last I figured out how to unlock bootloader, root & flash TWRP recovery !!
To achieve the above you should have some basic knowledge of adb, fastboot & flashing.
The usual warning... Try the following on your own risk, don't blame me if your device is dead, burnt or you lose your job because your boss couldn't contact you on your dead cell phone .
Lets Begin !!
1) Download & install ADB-setup and Qiku Download Assistant.
2) Go to bootloader, switch off your phone and press and hold volume up button while connecting usb cable. When you see bootloader press volume up again to enter fastboot mode.
3) Go to device manager and you should see “Android or unknown” with a yellow exclamation mark under “other device”. You have to manually install fastboot driver here, just google it how to do it. You to have
go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Qiku\adb and select QK_ANDROID_ADB to install drivers.
4) Unzip the firmwares zip files.
5) Now to unlock bootloader we have flash the following firmware 6.0.018.P2.160720.QK8692.CPD but we have to force close Qiku flashing tool when flashing is at 1-2%. To do that open task manager on your pc before flashing and end Qiku flashing when the flashing is 1-2%.
6) Disconnect phone from pc and reconnect while pressing & holding volume up if you see completely black display it means now you have unlocked bootloader. Always refer to the device manager in your pc if your device is in fastboot mode as you would not see anything on the device display once you flashed the above mentioned firmware.
7) Go to the folder where you have the TWRP custom recovery. While in the folder press shift and right click and select “open command prompt here” from the menu. Copy “fastboot -i 0x1EBF flash recovery Qiku-TWRP-recovery.img” without quotes and paste in the cmd and enter.
8) Once Qiku TWRP recovery is flashed successfully lets boot the same from bootloader. While in the folder press shift and right click and select “open command prompt here” from the menu. Copy “fastboot -i 0x1EBF boot Qiku-TWRP-recovery.img” without quotes. Your device should boot in TWRP recovery.
9) In the TWRP recovery on your phone go to advance and select adb sideload and start the same.
10) Go to the folder where you have the SuperSu.zip and open command prompt here. Copy “adb sideload UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.78-20160905010000.zip” paste in the cmd and enter, without quotes.
11) Now if you wish to lock bootloader again then select reboot option in the recovery and select bootloader. Go to the folder where you have the emmc_appsboot.mbn file and open command prompt here. Copy “fastboot -i 0x1EBF flash aboot emmc_appsboot.mbn” without quotes and paste in the cmd and enter. This will lock the bootloader and you can always unlock the bootloader by following above mentioned instructions.
13) Copy “fastboot -i 0x1EBF reboot” in cmd and enter. This should reboot you phone.
14) If everything went well you should see supersu app in the phone. You can also check by an app called root checker from play store if you have successfully rooted your device.
When you have the unlocked bootlader there would be no display when you're in fastboot mode hence you have to check in device manager to ensure that the device is fastboot mode. Plus while booting or rebooting there would not be any boot animation but only the boot sound. This is due to the unlock bootloader.

You can change the same in buid.prop once you're rooted however you would not just be able to flash and boot Andoird 6 Chinese firmware on your device. I have tried the same but it does not work.

Not at all if you ask me as I have been playing with my device for past 8 months or so. I did hard brick my device at several occasions but was always be able to recover it. During those hard brick the device goes into fastboot mode on it's own or one can press and hold power key & volume up to force the device to go into fastboot mode which it always does.
To recover the device from hard brick it needs to be in fastboot mode whether locked bootloader or unlocked bootloader. If the bootloader is locked then the official tool can flash the stock firmware and boom... The device will be Alive again. Incase of unlocked bootloader it's just the matter of flashing the firmware .imgs through fastboot mode:good: or if you've taken backup in TWRP then just boot TWRP and restore your device.
One warning though... Do not try to flash any other OEM's firmware as I am not sure what would be the outcome as I have only tried our device OEM's firmware. Yes can try porting other custom rom to our device as it only involves flashing system.

I would love to help you but I hard bricked my device about 2 days ago while playing with emmc_appsboot.mbn . As you know to recover the device we need rawprogarm0.xml, patch0.xml etc and the stock rom doesn't contain any of the said files.
Fortunately, I am in touch with another Qiku user and I have already written to him about your requirement. I have also requested to him to respond to you on the xda forum itself. Let's wait for his response.
Besides, I was wondering if you know any ways to get the rawprogram0.xml, patch0.xml etc from a working Qiku for recovering my hard bricked device?? or any other method which can help?. Can Qdart tool help in anyway??.
I have searched Qiku Chinese forum but unable to find the required files.
Any help would be much appreciated :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed: !!
Sure i ll send those files to you in a day or two!

You mean you had a device QK8692_M02 and you flashed QK8692_I02 and booted normally but when you tried to go back to your QK8692_M02 it hard bricked??
Well my friend I am afraid but now you need to reflash QK8692_I02 to use the device and you might not be able to go back to your Chinese OS now. There was a similar case where this gentleman from Russia did the same thing to his Chinese Qiku device and he was not able to go back to Chinese OS now. There is something with the QK8692_I02 OS I guess.
I was able to boot v109 of Chinese OS on my QK8692_I02 and the v109 rom & the instructions are there on the given download link. I was in process of being able to use Chinese OS on my QK8692_I02 when I hard bricked my device . Now I need emmc image of Qiku to unbrick it and then I can continue my research and might be able to give solutions to the issue.
Let me know if you could get me that emmc image it would be just 200-300 mb file and the same you can upload it on google drive.

Yes! You can use follow method:
1. Create a new APN
2. If you see on network icon is E not 3G that not support my EFS model(8692_m02) for you. So you can try a qcn file from same model.

FOR UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER, FOLLOW THIS
Go to this site Unlocking Code website or use this if above have some problem or not working, then Use this Website
Login to this site using your Huawei id which you made in themes store or in huawei cloud!!
Use the Serial Number Written on BOX OF YOUR PHONE..!!
Fill like, smartphone>Product Model should be "The one written in your About Phone section"
then fill all fields and captcha also.. Click Submit and get the UNLOCKING CODE....
you can unlock bootloader wid that code then and root permanently....
If your product id is incorrect as website says, then Download the Attached PC Software Named "Huawei Product ID Generator" then Extract this zip file...
Now open it, fill all Info in it and it will Generate a Product ID for your Phone....
After receiving the unlock code, write down the code;
Now go in your Huawei Settings>About Phone.
Then tap on Build number 10 times,,, you will get the Developers options in Last of Settings app. Open Developers option and Turn On the USB DEBUGGING.
Now connect your device to PC in MTP/FILES mode and then install the ADB drivers for it....
To install adb drivers correctly, use the Software Adb Driver Installer from here

Full ADB folder is also attached Below.... put this folder in drive C.
Now Direct the cursor on the folder ADB, hold Shift and the right mouse button and choose "Open Command Window";
connect your phone to the PC in the "media device";

then typed
Code:
fastboot oem unlock ****************
(where the asterisks replace unlock code);
BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED NOW!!
You need to Extract the update.app file to get BOOT, SYSTEM, RECOVERY and CUST Images
For that, Download Huawei Update Extractor tool
And then open update.app file in this tool.
Extract all above mentioned image files and move them to adb folder.
Now you need to format Data and Cache so that it dont mess with new Rom,
for that, go in Stock Recovery by keep pressing Volume Up and Power Button while phone is Switched Off.
When in recovery, wipe cache and data both and then come in fastboot mode without switching on your device.
You can do this by, while phone is Off, keep pressend volume down key and plug in the USB attached to phone.
You are in Fastboot Mode now if you have done all Correctly
Now go in ADB folder and open Command windows as told above.
Now check if you phone is Correctly attached by giving command
Code:
Fastboot devices
you should see a device attached, Now give these commands correctly one by one,
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Code:
fastboot flash cust cust.img
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
wait for this to be done, it will take some mins as file is of 2+GB size.
When done, give command

UNLOCK/LOCK Bootloader For ZenFone 3 ZE520KL/ZE552KL

Mod info:
Method doesn't work anymore and will result in a hard brick.
Make sure you’ve backed up all of your IMPORTANT DATA before unlocking/relocking bootloader
I am not responsible for bricked devices and dead SD cards. YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
1) Download the Factory RAW ROM here:
ZE520KL: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/11rwuLclwgwPl5W0L2L9ZQJN10beLLaER?usp=sharing
ZE552KL: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1D-tF9EiARrGgsYADaMRwZu02hFTdUrgZ?usp=sharing
2) Download ASUS Flash Tool here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Zmc9L0tPbSMSkzHfmSAA_0AxzTRZffP6?usp=sharing
3) Flash the firmware via ASUS Flash Tool by entering FASTBOOT MODE (Power Off + Volume Up)
*Note: This firmware can only boot into FASTBOOT Mode. So, don’t panic
4) Download Unlock Bootloader Toolkit for ZenFone 3 here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Fk5cu6Hk-0WaBn7OvHQ8rNPNLRaxzQKO?usp=sharing
5) Enter FASTBOOT mode (Power Off + Volume Up)
UNLOCKING
6) Unzip the files and click on
unlock_ZE520KL.bat (For ZE520KL)
unlock_ZE552KL.bat (For ZE552KL)
Congratulations, your device has been unlocked unofficially. (You can see the Bootloader status on FASTBOOT splash screen)
RELOCKING
6) Unzip the files and click on Install adb-setup-1.4.3.exe (You can find this in Bootloader Toolkit)
Hold Shift and Right Click on any area in the folder (click on ”Open Powershell window/Open Command Window)
Now copy and paste this: fastboot devices
If it shows your serial number of ZenFone 3, you are good to go
Now copy and paste this: fastboot oem lock
Congratulations, your device has been locked (You can see the Bootloader status on FASTBOOT splash screen)
P.S: If you unlocked officially and you want to relock your bootloader, OTA does not work because your Serial Number has been recorded by ASUS.
7) After that, download the stock ROM here and flash it via ASUS Flash Tool (FASTBOOT Mode):

So I went through this steps, and seems to work well so far. But when I went to update using the flash tool, the tool itself told me there was a newer version of the raw firmware, more specifically the
WW_ZE520KL_15.0410.1712.31_M3.10.47.16_Phone-user.raw
So I googled, and found it for download here:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=746010030569949679
Meaning that one can go straight to Oreo, instead of upgrading over and over.
Edit: Just tested, and it works! Got oreo straight!

I did not understand one detail about locking the phone. I got that it is only possible to lock/unlock once you have installed the factory_raw image. Ok.
So I wanted to lock my phone and then install the latest WW_ZE520KL_15.0410.1712.31_M3.10.47.16_Phone-user.raw. In this case the Asus flash tool gives an error saying that your phone is locked and can not install the image.
At the same time, if I install the image, and then try to lock it it is too late, since the lock command wont work anymore...
So, after all, what should I do to lock it and get the OS installed afterwards?
Ok, I figured it out.
So you can actually LOCK it, and then install the WW_ZE520KL_15.0410.1712.31_M3.10.47.16_Phone-user.raw. However, after the phone reboots, the Asus Flash program will try to erase it from the fastboot, which it cant, so it gives an error message.
So one has to go to recovery mode, and wipe and format partitions manually before it can actually boot.

The error was because the Asus Flash tool was trying to wipe the memory after rebooting in fasboot mode, which It was unable to do. So one have to boot in recovery mode to wipe manually so it can boot.
(I've dropped the link to the oreo user raw image. Maybe it is worth putting it in the main post)

That doesn't matter, If ASUS Flash Tool gives error such as Error 5 (FRP error) / Flash image still persist, ignore it. If your phone asks for PIN and it's incorrect, Enter recovery mode and wipe data and cache.
The reason why I don't suggest users to flash Oreo directly is because RIL might not work.
Edit: You can flash directly to 15.0410.1712.31 RAW firmware

[Guide] Root

Root Guide
** Root will void the warranty and disable OTA updates **
boot.img patch method
I don't recommend updating the firmware OTA before rooting. There is a chance you will update your phone to a firmware that hasn't been released yet on the ASUS website. New updates are released OTA first and then about a week or two later they are posted on the ASUS website. If by chance you updated the firmware OTA and the firmware isn't on the ASUS website, you'll have to wait for the firmware to be posted before you can root.
If already rooted and updating firmware skip to 5b
1. Make a folder called ROG Phone to store all files needed
2. Download the following to the ROG Phone folder
-- Unlock Tool, aka Unlock Device App
---- https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/..._SIGNED_UnlockTool_9.1.0.7_180912_fulldpi.apk
-- Latest Firmware - Under Firmware click on See All Downloads | Look at version number, not dates
---- Match SKU/Region - Example: WW->WW, CN->CN, JP->JP
------ Settings > System > About phone > Software information
-------- https://www.asus.com/us/Phone/ROG-Phone/HelpDesk_BIOS/
-- Minimal ADB and Fastboot - Portable
---- https://devsjournal.com/download-minimal-adb-fastboot-tool.html
-- Payload Dumper
---- Attatched image_extrator.zip script
-- Python
---- https://www.python.org/downloads/
-- Magisk Manager
---- https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases
3. Unlock bootloader
-- Connect the phone to the PC via the side port on your phone
-- Select USB File Transfer on the phone; If problems connecting, update drivers on the PC
-- Copy the Unlock Tool to your phone's Downloads folder
-- This voids the warranty and disables OTA updates
-- This will force a factory reset, so backup your data
-- Use File Manager (in ASUS folder) on your phone to run the Unlock Tool from the Downloads folder
-- If asked for Pin select "Use your Google account" in white text (can't see) below the Pin request
---- Pin request YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPKAEGptfas
4. Enable Developer on the phone
-- Settings > System > About phone > Software information
---- Tap "Build number" 7 times
5. Update phone to latest downloadable firmware
-- 5a
-- Open the ROG Phone folder and enable view file extensions
---- File > Change folder and search options > Click View tab > Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types > Click OK
-- Unzip Minimal ADB and Fastboot - Portable file
-- 5b
-- Copy the firmware to the Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder and rename firmware.zip
-- Turn on USB debugging
---- Settings > System > Developer options
------ Enable "USB debugging"
-- Connect the phone to the PC via the side port on your phone
-- Select USB debugging on your phone.
-- From the Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder run cmd-here.exe
-- From the command prompt (black window) type the following:
adb devices
-- To check the connection
adb reboot recovery
-- Select ADB on phone
adb sideload firmware.zip
-- Check that your phone was updated to the latest firmware
---- Settings > System > About phone > Software information
If by chance adb sideload doesn't work, try copying the firmware to the root directory (folder) on the phone and then reboot to install. Don't change the name of the firmware while using this method and you can't skip updates. So if there are two updates out from your current version, you'll have to install both.
6. Extract the boot.img file from the firmware using Payload Dumper
-- Use the attached image extractor script
---- Requires Python; Look at readme.txt
7. Patch boot.img using Magisk Manager
** Make sure that boot.img is from the same firmware version that is on the phone **
-- Turn off USB debugging
---- Settings > System > Developer options
------ Disable "USB debugging"
-- Connect the phone to the PC via the side port on your phone
-- Select USB File Transfer on the phone
-- Copy Magisk Manager and boot.img to your phone's Downloads folder
-- Use File Manager (in ASUS folder) on your phone to run Magisk Manager from the Downloads folder
---- Magisk Manager requires access to the Internet via wifi or mobile network
-- More Information
---- https://www.google.com/search?q=How...Methods)&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-1
------ Look at Method 2
-- Copy patched_boot.img from the phone's Downloads folder to the Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder
8. Flash patched_boot.img
** Make sure that patched_boot.img is from the same firmware version that is on the phone **
-- Put phone into fastboot mode
---- While the phone is off, hold down volume up and power buttons
-- Connect the phone to the PC via the side port on your phone
-- From the Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder run cmd-here.exe
-- From the command prompt (black window) type the following:
fastboot devices
-- To check the connection
fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
fastboot reboot

Some users couldn't get a connection to a PC via a PC's Type-C USB port and had to use a Type-C to Type-A USB cable.

If by chance something went wrong and your phone locks up on boot, this raw WW firmware install will get you back up and going (so far it has worked for everyone). This can also be used to relock the bootloader, but it will not restore OTA updates.

Quick Root Guide
1. Unlock bootloader
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/..._SIGNED_UnlockTool_9.1.0.7_180912_fulldpi.apk
2. Download unofficial TWRP by shakalaca (Doesn't fully work, but can flash files from USB drive)
Download the TWRP that matches your firmware version and rename twrp.img
https://mega.nz/#F!pst3URCQ!l_N503AsNmytaErhmuiwqg
3. Put phone into fastboot mode (volume down + power button)
Connect to the computer using the side USB port
4. Download Minimal ADB and Fastboot and flash twrp.img
https://devsjournal.com/download-minimal-adb-fastboot-tool.html
fastboot flash boot twrp.img
5. Download Magisk Manager, Magisk, and Magisk Unistaller onto a USB drive
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases
6. Flash Magisk with TWRP and install Magisk Manager to root
I don't have the phone yet, but if anyone wants to add to this guide to make it more accurate, I'll update this post.

Before running the fastboot command run: "fastboot devices" without quotations. To make sure the device is recognized and connected.
Nice write up!. By the way there is an update to the system a small one maybe 70+ MB. Minor stability update.

Thanks, I updated post. I was wondering after the system update, does TWRP still work because of encryption? Or does TWRP need to be updated for every system update?
Does the unlock bootloader tool REALLY erases all everything, or it's just ASUS warning so they cover their end if user data is lost?

Once you flash TWRP you will not be able to update through OTA. You will have to download the update manually and then flash it, once you do that i believe it flashes the stock boot.img which removes TWRP. When that happens you will have to flash a compatible TWRP for the new update.
That's how i understand it, personally i haven't rooted yet so i can't be 100% certain.
Also it's recommended by TWRP team to return to stock before updating the system and then flashing TWRP.

It's not just ASUS, Any Android device once you unlock the bootloader the user data is erased. So better backup!. By the way ASUS has a backup tool for all your apps and data i haven't tried it yet, give it a try.
That is correct. When I had my Pixel 2 XL (or any phone for that matter). When you flash TWRP on to the recovery the OTA update will always fail. You will have to either find the original recovery or the whole rom and reflash it.

Thanks! I hope shakalaca keeps updating TWRP with the new firmwares. Sounds like recovery.img will have to be extracted from the firmware and flashed before updating.
You will not find any file under the name of recovery.img. I tried looking for it in the stock firmware before no such file exists. The only way I think to do it is by flashing all of the boot.img where it resides I think.
Fastboot flash boot boot.img

I wasn't able to find either recovery.img or boot.img in the firmware.
boot.img vs recovery.img always confuses me. I wonder if updating with the update.zip method really needs stock recovery?

You need the payload dumber app on windows to extract the payload file which contains all the .img files which boot.img is one of them.
The boot.img contains the kernel and other important files needed to boot the device, while the recovery contains all the recovery settings responsible for reseting the device and updating, wiping actions.
From the comments i saw about recovering the phone after a bootloop it seems stock recovery isn't needed but i could be wrong. We will need input from others who have done it.
On my previous phone i could go back to stock rom without stock recovery as long it's the same rom build. So you will need to flash the same stock rom you are currently on and then flash the update.
I ran into some trouble. after running bootloader unlocker apk. it is now asking for a PIN. I tried the PIN I used when setting up the fingerprint reader and it doesn't work. It won't let me setup the phone again now.
Also got into the stock Recovery and did a user/data factory reset
Anyone suggestions?

By pressing volume down + Power button, the phone goes into recovery mode not fastboot.
It's easiest doing it by adb:
Adb devices
If the phone Is found:
Adb reboot bootloader
That's what I did when I root my Rog

I was in the same situation, but if you check carefully you will see "use your account Google" it's just below of the pin request.

To go to fastboot mode the hardware method will be by:
1. Holding (Power+Volume Up) until you see "Republic of Gamers" logo then release.
2. If the phone is turned off; hold the volume up only and connect the usb c to the phone(make sure the usb wire is connected to the PC already "It's basically the same as holding the power button except you'r getting the power from the usb"). You will go directly to "fastboot mode/ bootloader mode" i used to do this before on my phones, will also work on the ROG phone.

Thanks! I updated the guide and added link to your post.
I loaded TWRP but I can't flash Magisk on it. Can't read the /system partition.
Worse off, I am stuck at the ROG logo even after reboot.
what can I do to get the phone to at least boot back to the OS?
-----Update------
Nevermind I extracted the payload.bin and fastboot flash boot boot.img from there and it booted up again.

In order to flash Magisk v17.3, you need to load Magisk and magisk unistaller on a USB drive, then boot into recovery , select USB storage then flash magisk.
Thanks to mbze430 posting the boot.img patch method of rooting, I've updated the guide. This works without the need for TWRP.
Need info on flashing twrp. Are all attempts done on firmware version 23 (where latest shakalaca version of TWRP is supported)? Is there no way to get TWRP working on firmware version 43?
