Audio Gallery? - General Questions and Answers

Trying to find an app or some means to quickly find all the various audio files on my phone and not having much luck. Was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction with either an app some simple method to search for any audio type?

A music player? They usually have the extra output of codecs that can run various other audio files. Such as, .ogg, .m4a and such.

if i understand you correctly, you want to be able to show only certain file types? es file explorer has that option, and also go media manager, but for that you need the go launcher as well.

boost mp3 volume-pc app

anyone not satisfied with the volume of ringtones etc., go download the open source mp3 gain from here http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/index.php . it works great and boosted my ringtones considerably. i used to use total recorder but decided to go in search of an open source solution. while total recorder may boost volume even more, mp3 gain is very suitable....and it's free. it also does batch processing of entire folders and is pretty easy to use. easier than total recorder.
I don't see any .apk formats.

because it's for your pc. sorry,i should have specified. just figured people would figure it out. you have to copy ringtones etc. from sdcard to a folder on your pc. drag that folder into mp3gain. set the "target normal volume" to 105(max) then select track gain.
Yeah, I realized it when I seen executable files. I thought you may have knew something I didn't.

I remember a news report a year and a half ago or something like that about a law passed in europe that the mp3 manufacturers were required to lower volume on the headphones because of the increasing amount of young people with hearing loss.
Just use media monkey on your pc to volume level all your ringtones before you transfer them to your phone or card.

New ES File manager Lets you stream videos over network

The new ES File Explorer now lets you stream videos and images over network without it having to download first. It's pretty impressive and instant. People who are using file manager HD over this should really make the switch.
Best of all no need for Root. Now if only it could work with CBR files.
I'm using file manger hd with cifs manager and I can stream video just fine. How is this different? Is it supposed to take care of the cifs manager part?

No need for CIFS manager, no need for root. It also comes with dropbox as an option. It's the ultimate file manager. Also no ads.

I believe he's referring to this one on the basis that there are over 95,000 reviews of it in the Market. I remember reading about this file manager before, seems quite popular. BTW I also use File Manager HD.
What is the difference to upnplay?
For me its the same, i still need to use rocketplayer to play my avi movies.
Seems faster and supports smb... dunno if upnplay supports that.
i dont see any speed advantage
I've found it, but it wont stream the subtitles...
I'm using Moboplayer to play my files and it starts in 5 seconds and I can scroll anywhere I want in the video with no lag. Didn't test with subtitles. Since I am not rooted, I'm very impressed. That's all.

Anyone have problems connecting to the pc? When I turn my pc on it works, but a couple hours later it cant connect. Shows the possible errors such as wifi isn't on, or out of network scope, but once i restart my pc it can connect again.
Anyone know how to fix this, I'm using windows 7 pro 64bit, and Asus Transformer with prime 1.6v2.

Music Players miss 70% of my music??? why?

I have one issue that turns into multiple ones: I've used the default [google?] music player and a half dozen others [currently TTPod] and despite is ugly playback, only the default Music Player recognizes all of my stash. the others all miss from 25% to 70% or so of my files.
why is that? if it matters the handset is a LG P509, runs well, is rooted, running modified stock Froyo.
I don't get my music the usual 'store' way: I'm a musician and fan of live sound, so I rip from various sources a lot of live music, render them as MP3's. The players will typically pickup the same bunches and miss the same from one to other, with the exception that none of them handle audiobooks well, or collections of voice/reading/spoken::; examples are I have two versions of Bible audio loaded and a couple of longish books on Audio: player-depending, some will ignore a lot but not all of these files [no pattern] and others will do various things like renaming/numbering the files, leaving them nameless [unknown - track 1, etc] picking up duplicates, identifying individual tracks as albums [again, some, not all, seemingly at random] and elsewise.
???? makes me miss my ipod.
suggestions?

you were one step ahead of me. i had not thought of that particular function but I was on the hunt for a good file manager and picked up ES File Explorer. [good app] Anyway, prior to that I went back to market and found a trial of a paid player called PlayerPro. it does the trick. found everything, and was clever enough to obfuscate empty folders. "Folder" view is not the default, but its not hidden either, so using that View everything was quite orderly. so that issue is solved.
I'm still puzzled, however, by the underlying technicals of why this occurs. it would be non-mysterious if there was some consistency, for instance, NO audiobook-type track would be mishandled as an "album", instead of "some are... most are not". And stranger still - CD's that I have ripped directly using a PC based tool have a fairly ordinary file structure [unlike ripping from streams or youtube, or audio tracks from vids] - those genre/album based products completely miss those altogether even though they are in subfolders under "Music".

Q. looking for better video editing app any suggestions

I've been looking for better video editing apps in the market but they all seem to be basically the same from the description. I'm after something that I can correct the colour manually and maybe separate the audio and move that around separately. Anyone no of such an app?
Anyone?

Fast, Quality audio conversion app?

Anyone have a suggestion for a good app to convert audio files from lossless to mp3?

The key is to get a good MP3 encoder. Some of the cheap/free ones make mistakes during the encoding process, resulting in poor quality. I highly recommend the LAME MP3 encoder engine, shown here: http://lame.sourceforge.net/
Of course, that's just the engine... you'll need a program to perform the work "around" the engine... their link to "software which uses LAME" is a good place to start: http://lame.sourceforge.net/links.php I have used various programs at various times in the past, so I can't point you to a specific program, but I am sure any of these can work well, since the engine is great.
