Short answer, no. I have been trying. It seems like there was at one point, Motorola advertising the dual sim model to have AWS for SIM1 but does not look like it is true.

[Q] How to differentiate between Moto G US GSM and Global GSM?

Hello,
My sister lives in Canada and is on the wind network, which uses the AWS frequency. I found out that the Moto G US GSm version will be compatible with Wind Canada (since it supports AWS).
I wanted to buy this as a gift for her birthday so I ordered the 16GB US GSM Moto G from amazon usa and posted it to her via UPS. She got it today but is having difficulty setting up internet, I mean it is supposed to "just work" right?
So I fear that maybe amazon has sent me the Global GSM by mistake.
is there anyway I can identify the phone? I mean will the about section in settings be able to tell me if its US GSM or global GSM?
Thank you
You can tell by the model number:
XT1032 Global GSM
XT1034 US GSM (T-Mobile)
If she gets Wind Home coverage, calls and texts, she's got AWS HSPA signal and the right model. Getting the internet to work from there is probably just a matter of checking APN settings.

[Q] Use American Moto G LTE (XT1040) in Europe

Hi guys,
I have been searching for it but I wasn't quite successful. Here my question and the facts:
I bought the XT1040 in Colombia, hoping LTE would work out fine in Europe as well. As I figured out later, the European versione (XT1039) is the only one which would be working on the LTE bands here.
Is there any way to sort of unlock my XT1040 or to make it work with other LTE bands? According to the box it works with bands 4 and 7. I need for cities in Germany band 20. Is there a way to make that happen or should I save money for a new one? Interestingly, HSDPA+ does work.
Thanks in advance!

XT1550 4G modem change?

After owning a dual-sim Moto G2, I knew I wanted a G3 with dual sims and 2GB RAM (16GB ROM). Unfortunately this isn't available in the UK so I bought one from eBay which came from a seller in India.
I don't NEED 4G as I have a mobile hotspot which works very well, but I don't take this everywhere with me. Is it possible to flash the modem or something to get 4G in the UK using this model?
Thanks,
Marc

This isn't just a modem thing, flashing a different modem will not enable the missing bands, that "feature" is buried deep in a secure partition of the device... And since there isn't a dual SIM 4G 16GB model in your country, until someone figures out how to unlock all the LTE bands in the device, there is no way to enable this at this time.

Thanks, I thought it was a long shot. I wasn't sure of the correct terms but I've just searched for "unlock lte bands" and it seems to have been done for some models, fingers crossed someone figures it out for the G3!
Cheers

Really?!? Wow maybe I can get this working then. A Wikipedia page (I can't post links just yet) says that India has 2300MHz (band 40) 4G frequency, whereas UK has 800, 1800 and 2600MHz according to a PC Advisor link which I also can't post
I'm on O2 (both sims - I know, a bit daft but that's what I've got) and I've confirmed 4G is enabled on both sims. I guess the frequency that India don't use, is the 800MHz one that O2 uses, yes? Sods law if so. But I'll be porting my number to another network ASAP if that is right..
Thanks

Need some assistance ASAP!!!

Hi... Working with a brand new Moto G XT1548. Stock Rom stock everything.
Simple question is this, how do I get this sim Unlocked to accept any sim card. Right now its apparently a virgin mobile phone and says (nationwide sprint 4g lte network) on the box; which I assume is how it would work in the states. But I am not in the states.
Can anyone help me out here? Or just point me in the right direction.

Ok Virgin Mobile/Sprint is CDMA, the sim is for 4g LTE so this not a GSM phone. I suppose you could try contacting carrier you want to use and see if they can switch it for you, but I doubt it's possible/worth hassle.
All Moto G 2015's support basic GSM service, but have limited bands for HSPA and LTE, the XT1548 has very limited...
CDMA: 800, 850, 1900 Mhz
GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900 Mhz
UMTS/HSPA+: 850, 1700, 1900 Mhz
LTE: B2 (1900), B4 (1700), B5 (850), B12 (700), B17 (700), B25 (1900), B26 (850), LTE-TDD: B41 (2500)
To unlock the SIM you have to contact Virgin Mobile or buy a code from an unlock service online.

Have you had any success in using it in Nigeria here? I'm expecting the same phone soon and I have some confidence it could work since it supports GSM bands. However, if you've been able to use it I could use some help in how you did it. If not yet successful, just hang on, I'll figure it out when mine arrives. I helped get the Moto X Sprint unlocked here on XDA.

You will get 2G GSM service only (GSM900, GSM1800)... at best... No 3G, WCDMA/HSPA, or LTE. The Sprint versions are "tuned" to Sprint service, and not to global or other regions, and there is no unlock for the other bands. The Sprint Moto G 2015 is probably the worst possible you could get, unless you have Sprint service.

I see... Just like the Verizon Moto E 2015, which when unlocked could only get 2G service and data... Well, it's better than not working at all overseas... Thanks.

Maybe... The Sprint version is just just limited in hardware to very specific bands and frequencies for Sprints network and basic GSM service for roaming needs.
Good luck.

[G5/XT1676] Can I unlock LTE Frequencies requiered on my country?

Hi there guys!
I've bought a Moto G5 model XT1676 a few days ago, and it doesn't work with LTE connectivity on my country (Argentina)
I've asked the carrier about it, and they told me that my mobile does not work on the same frequencies of LTE antennas.
I knew that on some mobiles you could "unlock" this unsupported frequencies, could it be possible on Moto G5?
Thanks!
