[Q] Trouble with bluetooth input devices N8000 on official 4.4.2 update - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have applied the official 4.4.2 update to my Note 10.1 (N8000) using heimdall (as I did not have the over the air update yet). The software updated flawlessly and I do not seem to have any problems in that regards.
I am having trouble with bluetooth input devices. I have tried two keyboards (one unbranded and one Kensington) and a Penclic bluetooth pen mouse. All devices pair and are marked as connected, however the input is never accepted. In case of attaching the keyboard, it even is the case that the on screen keyboard won't pop up anymore. Also in the logcat I see that the devices are connected and recognized as input devices.
Some googling revealed that in general there are complaints about input devices with android > 4.2, however I am hoping that somebody has some idea or pointers on how to solve this (or where to look) specifically on this device.

[Help Needed] Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse Issue

Hi, My Note 10.1 is on Android 4.1.2 on Redemption Rom. Runs awesome. I use use a bluetooth keyboard with it every day, and today is the first time i connected a bluetooth mouse and im having an unusual problem:
With the bluetooth keyboard connected, when i connect my Apple Magic Mouse, when the mouse is connected if i am typing the keyboard starts putting in extra letters. Example:
"Thiis is aaaaan exampllle of typinnnggg on Annnnnnnndroid."
When this is happening, as soon as i turn off the Apple Magic Mouse, the issue solves itself. Then if i reconnect the mouse the issue starts again. Anyone have this problem? Could it be because of some incompatiblility of the Note 10.1 and Apple Magic Mouse? Or some Android bug?
I was having an issue each time i tried typing with the keyboard where the built in software keyboard would pop up regardless if the bluetooth keyboard was connected or not. I solved this by installing "Null Keyboard" which each time the keyboard connects i have to select the default input method, but this is a small inconvience compared to having the entire keyboard pop up.

Self problem on Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 Android 4.1.1
I have the sam problem but on galaxy note 2(GT-N7100)
when its connect if dont see the mouse courser....
anyone the self problem and know who i can change this....
Same problem on the international galaxy note 2 N7100
Confirmed
I've tried 2 different keyboards, the Logitech tablet and the Belkin folio, with an HP mouse, and when the mouse is on the keyboard gets flaky.
This is a big issue for everyone that wants to remote desktop.
Also, I'd say that the mouse seems rather laggy itself.
Where do we submit bug reports?

You can flash a different ROM (something that's not TW based) Also try switching different kernels. People have gotten it to work this way

Samsung Smart Dock

I was using Samsung Smart Dock at my work place.
Samsung Galaxy S4 International version[from India] with 4.2.2 JB till recently. and the dock was working fine. i used wireless Keyboard and Mouse of Logitech with the dock.
A week back i updated the OS via PC Kies to 4.3 JB stock firmware.
After which the Keyboard via the dock stopped working. no input from the external keyboard is taking up in phone, however the mouse is working.
Note: definitely not an issue with keyboard/mouse or the dock. i suspect the Phone OS only. as the Keyboard area has also underwent some changes in OS 4.3.
have any clues about this???

SOLVED!!!
It was because of the OTA updates from I9500XXUEMJ5 ... I9500XXUEMJ9 of 4.3 Jelly bean
But once i Downloaded the I9500XXUEMJ9 directly and completely flashed the phone with it + a wipe cache, solved many a issues.
1. Bluetooth controls where not working earlier, now working properly[even earlier the song wasn't even heard], not its fine
2. Samsung Dock is back in my desk, the keyboard is now working properly.
only suffer i HAD is to again install from A to Z !!!!!! but worth it, as i am happy now with the results.

[Q]

Hello one & all,
I hope someone out their can help me, I am using a Nexus 7 the 2012 version and am having fun trying to get my bluetooth mouse working with it again. I inanvertantly changed the setting in the paired device section so that a bluetooth mouse is not seen as an input device and my the mouse is listed within the available devices section but I can not pair the device. I know that the bluetooth mouse still works as I have tried it on other hardware.
My Nexus 7 is not yet rooted and I am not sure it rooting it would reset the correct bit of the system to once again alow me to your the bluetooth mouse.
Thank you for any help you can give.

[Q] Will this get me BlueTooth 4.0?

I have a Galaxy Tab 2 that I'm trying to get BlueTooth 4.0... if I use these adapters and upgrade to a 4.4 ROM, will it work?
How does Android deal with having two BT adapters to choose from?
To get a USB port: http://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Dongle-Female-Samsung-10-1-Inch/dp/B008THNXMI
To get BlueTooth 4.0: http://www.amazon.com/SuperTech-Bluetooth-Adapter-CSR8510-Controller/dp/B00HQCINKE/
I highly doubt it, even if the tab 2 is capable of detecting the bluetooth dongle and using one connected in such a method there is still the lack of drivers for that specific dongle that will work with android.
Thanks!
I figured BlueTooth devices would have more-or-less standard drivers that would be included in Android 4.4. If that's incorrect, is there a BT device/chipset/manufacturer that uses known-compatible hardware?
solution?
Hi, have you found a solution to connect the Tab 2 with a bluetooth 4 device?
Thanks

Just for you to know, I think that I performed all the necessary steps in my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10" (P5110) but unluckily it did not work:
1.- I installed the latest nighly build available of Cyanogen to upgrade to Android 4.4.4
2.- I purchased OTG cable (Amazon ASIN B007WRORVC)
3.- I purchased bluetooth 4.0 dongle (Amazon ASIN B00J2UEBY0)
4.- I activated the developers debug option by clicking 7 times on "Build number"
In fact, nothing happens (no new options appeared under the Bluetooth menu options, ...). Is there anything I can do to "wake up" the new hardware (Bluetooth 4.0) and disable the old built-in one (Bluetooth 3.0)?
Thanks

I installed the USB Host Diagnostics app. When I run the diagnostics:
- If I plug the cable and the dongle... Device detected: yes
- If I plug the cable but not the dongle... Device detected: no
- If I do not plug the cable... Device detected: no
At least, it is good news that the results of the diagnostics make sense. It means that the hardware is being detected, so it is only a matter of drivers. I could purchase another dongle from a different manufacturer. Does anyone know one which has drivers for Android?
any update on a solution to connect the Tab 2 with a bluetooth 4 device?
I dont think its possible
Maybe with some "hacks" it can be done by default tab 2 supports 3.0

Problem with ported ROM and bluetooth keyboard

Hi.
I've successfully ported a Marshmallow rom to an old tablet that was running Kitkat.
Almost everything works ok, but I can't pair a bluetooth keyboard I need to use.
The tablet can pair with other android devices, and can send and receive files.
Also, the keyboard works with any other device and with the tablet doing a downgrade.
When I try to connect the keyboard to the ported tablet it's detected and shows the pin alert, I type the pin on the keyboard and then nothing else happens.
I've dumped the bluetooth logs and I've seen that, in the ported tablet, the log stopped when waiting for the pin. In any other device the log continues showing the complete connection.
I've tried to replace any bluetooth library form stock to ported rom, individually and by sets, and can't get it better (ever worst)
So please, can anyone help me? Where should I look for making it work?
Thanks and best regards.
PS: I've attached the HCI log files: the one named huawei is for the well pairing device, and the other is the problematic pairing with the ported tablet.
