I am looking for a simple weather and also a switch widget which does not consume a lot of RAM. I have tried a few of the more popular widgets available through the play store but they're either not very customizeable or too power hungry.
I'm currently using Google Now for my primary weather updates, but it does not look aesthetically pleasing.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a weather and a switch widget?
The CM11 clock/weather widget does quite well. I been using it on AOKP ever since it's been implemented in CM. As for a switch widget I just use the built in power control widget with a transparent background.
Swyped from my LG Nexus 5 using XDA premium.

I was thinking more of something not ROM-linked widgets. I'm on stock, and would like to keep it that way.

LTE/4G widget for stock nexus 5
Is there widget for quick switch LTE/4G on and off for stock roms? All apps in play store just open mobile networks settings. My runtime is ART, so xposed does not work, if i am right?
I use widgetsoid, been around for ages, quite simple but does the job. Have mine on my quick drawer of action launcher.
No complaints.

Eye in the sky weather widget looks the best imo. It has pretty decent customization options too. As for switches...not sure, I don't use any.

Ive done a bit of searching through the market but can only find apps that use the screen as a torch.
Any recommendations? Thanks

or you can go for Tesla LED
i prefer everything in 1 app, less wasted space, faster phone
TeslaLED. Perfect. Thanks!

Using the LED, dosen't it increase the chance of the Led getting spoiled?
Anyone run across any new LED apps since this was posted? I cannot overstate the usefulness of a good LED torch app.
Torch from CM7 works fine.

I use TeslaLED, works great. I noticed that it lags turning on from the homescreen widget compared to G2, but it's not the end of the world.

I use Nexus One LED flashlight. It's about 80k, Tesla is closer to 350k. I don't like bloated apps...
+1 for Allgamer's recommendation of Widgetsoid 2.x. That app replaced like 3 other dedicated apps for me (LED torch, battery meter, power control).
Anyone else?
TeslaLED or Torch (Comes with CM7)
I've switched to using widgetsoid. I have one widget on the homescreen with battery, ram, and torch. Another on different homescreen with a few toggles.

I use LED Light. It has a widget that you can put on yyour home screen. That is if you want an app that does one thing and one thing well.

Widgetsoid... u can use it for other purpose as well...

for me it replaced at least 9 different widgets
in total it shaved off 15 apps from my phone
I like using TeslaLED in combination with widget locker...allows you to use the flashlight from the lockscreen.
I use nexus tourch love the high brightness

Any one of these have variable brightness settings? When I had my HD7 the ability to choose between 3 levels, low medium and high, was awesome sauce.
I haven't looked because really I don't know where to start.
I'm looking for launchers that might catch my eye. Currently I'm using Go Launcher because its pretty unique. Beautiful transitions, drawer transitions. Not enough that I want to keep it, but I am using it. I've used probably ever market launcher possible, I believe I remember seeing certain people make there own and am curious if some of this fellows who make them or find them would like to post them?
I've used SPB shell more then half of my android life I've had the phone, that being said. It is a great launcher but I just need something less power hungry and not huge in size.
I'm looking for unique and simple but yet beautiful launcher.

also have regina 3d,gde,@home,panda,dxtop,various others in the market. android seven is a neat one for a desktop look based on win7
Launcher Pro Plus is one of the most popular choices and it's what I use.
Along side with WidgetLocker you can create some pretty great looking stuff.
Attached is my lockscreen and homescreen.
I've tried every one of those ----

MIUI, Corzeth Theme?

I'm just so damn proud of my setup I need to post my updated screenshots
I used to run launcher pro, but development kind of stalled and the widgets were lacking.
Currently I am running go launcher ex, and it's probably the closest thing to sense in third party launchers. The calendar widget is great and the recent and running app tabs are great. Their weather widget is the closest thing to sense I've found but unfortunately it destroys your battery life.
Another thing to try is their dialer. It has the quick dial search like sense. You don't have to use the launcher with this one.

wow thats a nice setup!
I wouldn't call it beautiful, but I use zeam launcher. It's simple and useful.

I was wondering...for you guys on stock ROM (unrooted), is there anything cool/interesting that you do to customize your lockscreen?
Or is it just too wasteful in terms of RAM usage and battery life?
If you do anything unique besides default settings for your lockscreen post it here! with a screenshot too!

Widget Locker here too...
widget locker here as well. It the only way to go for customization similar to what you get on your homescreens.
Here's mine.
I have widget locker but stopped using it, It makes my device slugish, I went back to the stock lockscreen! Slugishness has gone and it still suits my theme/LWP

Weird, I've never noticed a performance difference, even when I had it on my 600mhz htc legend.
Just curious to who is using a different launcher than sense. I have been thinking about switching but I like blinkfeed a lot. Has anyone noticed battery drain while using a launcher like Nova and having a setup for a shortcut to blinkfeed?
I only use Nova. So much better than any other home app.

I'm using nova. No added battery drain and I can customize it to my liking. It is not as buttery smooth as the blink feed launcher app drawer though, but overall I prefer nova.

Are Yall using it with blinkfeed? Seems like using 2 launchers would create a lot of battery drain
I'm also on Nova. I use the Zooper widget to add my sense widgets back.

First you need Zooper Widget Pro, then search for Sense 6 zooper widget. I paid $1 for the widget but works quite well.
Do you lose the Sense 6 gestures when switching to Nova?

I use Nemus Launcher. Very simple, but extremely functional.
Nova Prime. Incredible launcher, smoother and more feature rich than any other I've used. Keeps up with stock Google features and themes well (latest being the OK Google integration). One of the best app purchases I've ever made.

I couldn't agree more. I have tried so many different launchers and nothing compares to Nova Prime. OK google integration is my favorite part. This phone is a beast so you can turn up the animation speed and it won't lag on you.
The ok Google integration not causing any battery drain?
I've not noticed much at all. I still get through my whole day every day without worrying about battery. That's all I care about honestly.

I've been using the new Total Launcher from the guy that made sslauncher.
It's in beta still but it's updated all the time and is the most customizable launcher I have tried and I have tried them all.
Worth a look
screenshots?
How does it compare to Nova?
I tried it and came back to apex. I really don't see how you could get any more customizable than nova or apex....unless I missed something.

Not to hijack your thread, but I've been using the Dodol launcher and it has been working great. The two things I like most are the ability to change the grid size and the icon size.

my phone never looked so nice
I like "Next Launcher". Just a better Launcher with a hell of a lot of possibility's.
I tried Total based on this, and it is pretty amazing. Definitely might be the most customizable I've used, up there with Lightning or something. If anything that's the fault, it's overwhelming. It makes sense though it's well thought out, just daunting.
