Is anyone planning on starting a forum for the CDMA version of the Moto G? I know most stuff is the same, but there are differences...
Cheers
Putting [Q] in front of a general section doesn't makes it correct. Use the Q&A section for posting questions.

Differences like the hardcore lock down on the bootloader on the Verizon Moto G. I wasn't expecting Fort Knox, and it really bummed me out >.< I was looking forward to CWM and running some Xposed modules on here.

yeah, same here Totes. I was really hoping for a bootloader unlock. I followed the steps on the Motorola web site to see if my XT1028 could be unlocked, but it cannot. I would be happy with just root for now...
Hello guys,
As we all know moto g and moto g 4g arme almost similar, except external sdcard and 4g internet connection.
So I ask myself if moto g roms work on 4g edition? And much more interesting what do I need to change in rom.zip to get the sdcard and 4g internet connection to work in my Moto G 4G ?
Is there an easy way to port roms from g to g 4g, because for moto g there are much more roms available than for the 4g edition
Hope somebody can tell me
Regards nbock

Will have to wait to get home to check the Moto G that I bought from consumer cellular. I know that it is listed as a XT1034 on the back, but have not checked how it is identified by the computer. As for the baseband version, that does not have to match the actual phone model number.
My other Moto G (US GSM) from Motorola is a XT1034 yet also lists 1032 in the baseband version number. However, the computer identifies it as XT1034. http://i.imgur.com/faQSiBU.png
Side Note: Does the Hotspot/Tethering option work on your consumer cellular Moto G? Mine does not list the option, but has an app that opens the menu, but nothing displays.
Thanks for the reply. I will check that once i get home. Also i am thinking build prop maybe control the model number that pops up on pc. Possible??

The Consumer Cellular XT1034 Moto G is showing as XT1032 on my computer as well.
I think build.prop control that. Does consumer xt1034 works fine on tmo? If you know. Maybe?

Works on T-Mobile
Yeah, once I got it unlocked, it works with my T-Mobile SIM. Had to update the APN, but so far no issues with Texts, Calls, or MMS.
The only feature not working so far is the Tethering/Hotspot.
U get hspa? Please let me know. I got another one just delivered. Ill be home in like 10 mins

What you want to do is, unlock it first, then flash it with Motorola 4.4.x AWSRetail version, this can be done via fastboot, no need to unlock bootloader, once done reboot it and it should prompt you to install latest version. That is all. You are set. You can also convert to GPE, but you'll lose the 1700aws support, thus losing hspa on T-Mobile

Version
Which specific version did you end up flashing? Did you download from here http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=14 or have a different source?
I downloaded Android 4.4.3 Blur_Version.210.12.32.falcon_umts.AWSRetail.en.US

I am planning to use this phone in AT&T network; is there any different ?
Thanks,
If you are you can still use aws, since consumer cellular have both bands. If you dont care about aws band, you can convert to gpe.. But not huge diff.. Moto updates week after google pushes release

lcc014, follow this guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
Flashed the XT1034 AWSRetail 4.4.4 and now everything works on the device and it is recognized as 1034 on the computer.
which firmware did you downloaded, and did you download of moto's website?
I guess I am one of the unlucky one to purchase the verizon prepaid Moto G from Bestbuy Sale to only find out that it came with 4.4.4 and could not be rooted.
Apparently nothing work at this moment.
However, it appears previously Moto G and Moto X had similar rooting method prior to 4.4.4, and someone has worked out a way to root verizon Moto X on 4.4.4 at here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/moto-x-root-pogress-60-t3071602
I am wondering if it is possible someone could adapt this method to make it work with Moto G on 4.4.4?
Sucks But....
No. :/ I have been searching for about a year now. Verizon had Moto lock the BL on the G's that Verizon had intended on selling. I was not aware of it.. Looked at it the same day also saw the quad core and jumped on it. I will remember to study from now on. I have heard rumors about Verizon letting Moto Release the BL Code but I highly doubt that. For now it sits in the realm of silence, waiting ..... possibly forever.
Good Luck

It will only work if you have the blankflash files for your device.
I have Moto G 4g (XT1045). I would like to replace carrier altered android with stock android on it. When done, I do not want the phone rooted. Can I please get help on the proper procedure for doing this as well as the correct rom for this particular type of moto G.

Probably best to ask in a the Moto G area, not here... it is a different animal than the Moto G 2015.
