Will have to wait to get home to check the Moto G that I bought from consumer cellular. I know that it is listed as a XT1034 on the back, but have not checked how it is identified by the computer. As for the baseband version, that does not have to match the actual phone model number.
My other Moto G (US GSM) from Motorola is a XT1034 yet also lists 1032 in the baseband version number. However, the computer identifies it as XT1034. http://i.imgur.com/faQSiBU.png
Side Note: Does the Hotspot/Tethering option work on your consumer cellular Moto G? Mine does not list the option, but has an app that opens the menu, but nothing displays.

Thanks for the reply. I will check that once i get home. Also i am thinking build prop maybe control the model number that pops up on pc. Possible??

The Consumer Cellular XT1034 Moto G is showing as XT1032 on my computer as well.

I think build.prop control that. Does consumer xt1034 works fine on tmo? If you know. Maybe?

Works on T-Mobile
Yeah, once I got it unlocked, it works with my T-Mobile SIM. Had to update the APN, but so far no issues with Texts, Calls, or MMS.
The only feature not working so far is the Tethering/Hotspot.

U get hspa? Please let me know. I got another one just delivered. Ill be home in like 10 mins

Yes, I get HSPA on it.

What you want to do is, unlock it first, then flash it with Motorola 4.4.x AWSRetail version, this can be done via fastboot, no need to unlock bootloader, once done reboot it and it should prompt you to install latest version. That is all. You are set. You can also convert to GPE, but you'll lose the 1700aws support, thus losing hspa on T-Mobile

Version
Which specific version did you end up flashing? Did you download from here http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=14 or have a different source?

I downloaded Android 4.4.3 Blur_Version.210.12.32.falcon_umts.AWSRetail.en.US
Sent from my Nexus 4

I am planning to use this phone in AT&T network; is there any different ?
Thanks,

If you are you can still use aws, since consumer cellular have both bands. If you dont care about aws band, you can convert to gpe.. But not huge diff.. Moto updates week after google pushes release

Unlock Moto G Boost Mobile

Hi I am going to buy the boost mobile moto g. Firstly is it CDMA only. Also can I flash any rom of moto g in it. And lastly how to unlock it so that I can use any GSM/CDMA SIM. I live in another country. And here boost mobile is not present. Plz help
Boost Mobile Moto G is CDMA only. CDMA phones don't take SIM cards, and the only unlock available is bootloader unlock via Motorola's website. If your country doesn't have CDMA carriers, don't buy the Boost Mobile, US Cellular, or Verizon Moto G, unless you plan on using it on Wi-Fi only

Does US cellular have a parent company like boost mobile is part of sprint?
Sent from my XT1031 using xda app-developers app
Nope, US Cellular is the network operator, they do service uprepaid and others. Same level as Verizon or T-Mobile.

I got a "free" moto G from Boost Mobile when switched my T-Mobile number. However, I found I couldn't unlock my bootloader. The $40 monthly plan seems too expensive for me. I want to flash it to other service provider.

This phone is not compatible with AT&T, T-mobile nor their MVNOs (which use the SIM card).

Thanks. PagePlus is not my best solution. I've got it sold via eBay and made some profit. I am with Sprint with student promotion and just pay for the tax.

[Q] Verizon Prepaid Moto G Rooted

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I had given up on Moto G as a potential root on Verizon Prepaid, but then:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52717219
If it has, what guide would I use? If not, any suggestions for a rootable on Verizon Prepaid?
If you need Verizon prepaid, look into Page Plus, at www.pagepluscellular.com because they are prepaid on Verizon's network. The Boost Mobile Moto G is rootable and can be made to work on Page Plus.

Let me just add a comment here if I may.
I have a Boost MOTOG flashed to use Pageplus. Version 4.4.2
Although I have unlocked the bootloader and installed the SUPERSU via recovery, the phone will not root. No error messages or anything but if you try to use any app that needs root, it will not work.
It has something to do with Verizon & 4.4.2 version.

Yea, I'm getting mixed feedback. I appreciate the suggestion with Pageplus and still trying to look into it. The guys over at rootandroid told me they can't root the G on Verizon Prepaid. I really don't want to be on the "bleeding edge" as an amateur. Still looking for a proven method, or an alternative phone...

I have a Boost Moto G flashed to PP, on 4.4.2, and root works just fine for me. Running xposed like a champ. Titanium backup worked for removing needless apps, too. I used the superboot method.

I am seriously considering buying a Verizon prepaid Moto G, but this root issue may be a deal breaker for me. Why so much of a problem with rooting this phone. I know the bootloader is locked, but I have had phones that were locked but I was still able to root them. What's with the Moto G?

Going down the Pageplus road, but first another question. Is there another MVNO you might recommend other than Pageplus that's prepaid and on the Verizon net?
The reason is, I got pushback from Pageplus when I mentioned the G. Claim their dealers can't handle it. In addition they claim Verizon is blocking the G because it is a prepaid device.
In short it must be a 3g or backwards compatible to 3g device, nonprepaid and a Verizon contract phone.
I've found 3 PP dealers in the area, might see how far I get with the G or other best option they have. I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking another MVNO...

I use Page Plus, so I don't know any other MVNOs. They are correct about the Moto G, Verizon blocks their Moto G for at least 6 months. If you flash a Boost G, their imeis aren't registered on Verizon, so they come up fine. Dealers won't know this, but you can set yourself up on the Page Plus website. Kitty Wireless, a Page Plus dealer, offers free ESN checks to make sure you can use a phone with them. Kitty is all online, though.
Edit: I should specify, my wife has the Boost G on PP, I set it up. Bought a Verizon G before I knew about the locked bootloader and Boost flashing. When the Verizon G can be used on PP, we'll be trading phones.

Probably the needed band is not supported in your country... I use the GPE firmware, that is a nice stock version of android, the lighter (official) and the first one that get updates. GPE supports both UMTS and HSPA+ bands, you could like it. If you need a custom rom I don't know...

my 3G doesn't work on 4.3 or 4.4.2. But I have another phone (sony) with 4.0.4 and my 3G works.
Have you try to copy your APN from your sony to your moto ?

yes i did, but to no avail.
I am suspecting Moto G is a 4G phone, but my SIM is still on older 3G network.
There's really nothing in common between Moto G and Sony devices, so the problem isn't due to the OS, but your phone it seems. Did you try to interfere with the kernel, the Rom or something like that?

I can't solve your problem, but if I was in your shoes I'd first try your carrier and I'd have a look at modems.
If you have your phone in wcdma auto or preferred, and your 3g service is weak it will stick to 2g.
Try *#*#4636#*#* and toying with different modes.
Btw, whats's your phone version? Country? Carrier?
Here i am, using a sony phone that runs 4.2/4.4
using 3g works perfectly, even H+ appears
on a serious note, get your sim checked, and also, did you cut the sim yourself or something?

Question: Consumer Cellular MotoG
