Hello,
Now that we don't have Xposed and its moduls on our Lollipop is there any other way to skip music tracks by long pressing volume buttons while screen is off?!
Thanks in advance.
Any solution?

hopefully the app "noize" will get a lollipop update, that's one way we can get this feature. otherwise we're waiting on the devs to integrate the feature.

Thanks friend for reply, can you please give me link to the app? I couldn't find that in Playstore! maybe i'm doing a wrong search!
I spelled it wrong.

I am also looking for this. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for it.
I may revert to 4.4 just for this feature
This and pie controls are the only 2 things I really need to be fully comfortable on lollipop.

Friends, I found a software on Play Store named "Pocket Skip Track" that can do something like long press. It needs once or double press volume rocker to skip tracks while screen off at this moment this software make me happy :victory: you can find it at following link :

As of the 12/10 update, the cataclysm ROM has the volume rocker track skip feature

Hi Guys,
since xposed doesn't support lollipop i wasn't able to change the menu button into a multitasking button any more but following this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2646304&nocache=1
I found a method that is applyable
In short:
you need a root file managersystemusrkeylayoutGeneric.klkey 139change "MENU" to "APP_SWTICH"save the file and reboot
Worked for me, by long pressing the menu button you can also use it in its original function
Hope I could help
Thanx

There are a few ways apps get external playback controls... lock screen, wired headsets, and bluetooth devices for example. It would be nice to have an option to treat those track skip controls as seek controls, since I find that more useful in long videos.
This is a good idea! If it doesn't get implemented in the next week, it should be added to the list.

Probably you might have disabled notifications on lock screen. If It's disabled, it won't show anything on lockscreen. Just expand the the notification to get FF/Rew buttons.

The problem has been resolved by upgrading to CM13,
I think the pb is only on stock rom.

As of Kodi 16 - Alpha 3 (Jarvis) they implemented a long-press feature which allows you to press and hold the Select button for a moment and the context menu will appear! Tested it last night and confirmed it worked like a charm. All I did was download the APK from the Kodi website, FTP it to my NP then run it. It upgraded with no issue and I didn't lose any of my Kodi data or settings.
Alternately, if you are not ready to upgrade you can create a NexusPlayer.XML file containing the code below and place it here: Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/keymaps/
You must restart Kodi for this change to take affect. This Keymap will make the Play/Pause button pull up the context menu when navigating the menus but will still Play/Pause when viewing media.
Code:
<keymap>
<global>
<keyboard>
<play_pause>ContextMenu</play_pause>
</keyboard>
</global>
<fullscreenvideo>
<keyboard>
<play_pause>PlayPause</play_pause>
</keyboard>
</fullscreenvideo>
</keymap>
My thoughts:
I love the NP remote because of how it feels in the hand. I hate that it doesn't have a menu button and how loud the buttons are when clicked. I can get over the clicking but not having the menu button for Kodi really sucked. So, for a while I was using the non-voice fire tv remote. Which I love! Buttons are quiet, and it has the menu button. The downside is that there is no voice without the NP remote and its very small so it doesn't feel as good in the hand.
how's stability on alpha? any chance you're using the mediaportal pvr and netflix?
xml trick worked like a charm.. thank you!

I downgraded to 15.X for now as well. Every time I would try to install or update an addon it would force close on me. I don't have any issues with 15 though.

Thanks for sharing this - I was looking for a small and fast app to remap the Bixby button on my Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. I made a tutorial and video on how to use it, you can read it here.
Could you have some Tasker integration? Thus making the uses limitless!
Thanks for all the feedback!
I already have some cool features on the list. I will add more as soon as S8 gets released.

2. Create a shortcut in your launcher (or anywhere else where you can create shortcuts) Select Tasker's "Task Shortcut" and select the task.
So I hope some day bxActions will allow shortcuts.

You could have Tasker REMAP the button for you dependent on what app you're in, where you are, whether the phone is`locked or unlocked etc
thanx, i will try this out when i get my phone.
I will probably map it to the camera since double tapping the home button always seem off on the s7e and idk how it will feel on the s8
How about assigning the button to a shutter button instead of launching the camera?
Anyone know if this app is affected by the OTA?
https://www.xda-developers.com/sams...to-remap-the-bixby-button-on-the-galaxy-s8s8/
@nest75068
Yes, I guess unfortunately it will be affected :
This news comes from XDA dev Flar2, who was updating his Button Mapper app for the GS8. He notes that his new Telus Galaxy S8 allowed remapping of the Bixby button with Button Mapper when he received it, but an OTA update changed the button's functionality. Now, the Bixby button's action is no longer routed through accessibility. Thus, it can't be changed without root access. I'd expect a similar OTA to hit all the other carrier variants as well.

Is this still working for everyone?
I was playing with it and one S8 had an option for flashlight toggle and the other S8 didn't.
Any idea why or how to get the flashlight toggle to show up as an option?
Still working on my TMO S8 I got today.
Edit: Button Mapper from the store has the option for flashlight toggle and it's pretty quick to turn on and off.
Is there a version available that does not have these permission items within Accessibility?
bxActions wants permission to:
- Monitor your actions - Receive notifications when you're interacting with an app
- Observe text you type - This includes personal data such as credit card numbers and passwords
This is a no-way warning for me...

Any app that is used as an accessibility service on a phone auto requires these permissions. The bixby button action is only available through the accessibility service at this point, so there will be no solution that does not require this. Maybe if this or some other app was open sourced people would be more likely to approve of this
