Hello,
Now that we don't have Xposed and its moduls on our Lollipop is there any other way to skip music tracks by long pressing volume buttons while screen is off?!
Thanks in advance.
Any solution?

hopefully the app "noize" will get a lollipop update, that's one way we can get this feature. otherwise we're waiting on the devs to integrate the feature.

Thanks friend for reply, can you please give me link to the app? I couldn't find that in Playstore! maybe i'm doing a wrong search!
I spelled it wrong.

I am also looking for this. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for it.
I may revert to 4.4 just for this feature
This and pie controls are the only 2 things I really need to be fully comfortable on lollipop.

Friends, I found a software on Play Store named "Pocket Skip Track" that can do something like long press. It needs once or double press volume rocker to skip tracks while screen off at this moment this software make me happy :victory: you can find it at following link :

As of the 12/10 update, the cataclysm ROM has the volume rocker track skip feature

Hi guys
I thought I would start this thread to discuss any tips to getting the volume keys to skip music tracks, while screen is off (eg, in your pocket).
This seems to be in place in a few custom roms, but wondered whether anyone knew of a way to get this working on stock 4.4?

You could achieve root, install Xposed Installer, and then install a module that will contain this feature.
Unfortunately, 4.4 is not supported by Xposed Installer yet.

Interesting. I've heard about the xposed framework, but not read much about it.
Looks like it might be worth looking into, when 4.4 support is added.

Dang. Hopefully soon though.
jetAudio basic has the option to select long press actions in misc settings. Whether it works on KK yet is another story. Give it a try.
Crossing my fingers for 4.4 version of CM
Would be great if we could swap the HW keys the correct way around. So the back button is on the left.

This doesn't answer what the OP is asking.
Op I know you would go into /system/usr/keylayout and edit the generic.kl file with a text editor
Two things that need to be swapped are Key 158 and 254 and reboot. Make sure to swap the text next to each as they are written. Make sure you are rooted.

Thanks for this excellent fix - just what I was looking for, and works perfectly!! Do you know how to remap longpress back to kill app, by any chance? Is this possible on stock rooted, or do we need to wait for CM? Cheers

I have the menu option available to me in that app, but i am rooted so i'm just wondering if some options are removed when not rooted.

I notice that you can add search and menu buttons to the on-screen button layout, but that's pretty much it. LG phones have an awesome on-screen button that when pressed allows for the notification drawer to drop down. I wouldn't mind having that button.
Is there an app where we can download other on-screen buttons? Haven't had any luck finding these anywhere.
Thanks, peeps!

Hmm, basically none of the ROMs is stable. They all have GPS reboot bug, poor camera and due to no hardware composition support you'll face serious lags in video streaming (especially 60fps videos on YouTube)

for the clock/statusbar thing u can try this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.treydev.msb
for the buttons i would search for something like HW remapper, button remap, etc...
i failed for trying to remap navbar buttons, ... (xposed additions not usable i guess in actual android 7.0 emui 5.)
i'm missing some things too, for example i use "Cool Tools" for display actual date in (on top of) statusbar. look screenshot.

Nope. GPS will give you issues but changing it to Battery Saving mode will fix them. Apart from it, everything works including fingerprint and the smart key button.
(And if you do flash it make sure you flash the latest version of Lineage before flashing crDroid)
I'd say have a try with crDroid.

Hello everyone!
This is my first post on XDA
I found this on international variant of N7 Plus.
I'd like to share you a thing that I have found in settings menu. It's hidden and it's easy to dig it out :highfive:
Follow this steps:
1. Open settings app
2. Tap search
3. Type "navigation" or "fingerprint"
4. Tap Navigation Key of Fingerprint and Voila! Done!!
Let me know what you think. I found this thing randomly. Sorry if it is posted in wrong sub.
Now, is there an option to hide on screen navigation buttons?

Also I spoke to Nokia about the lack of "homescreen auto add icon" option in their launcher and they said it would be passed to the development team to "consider" lol
I was really hoping we could hide the on screen navigation buttons!
Dang.
Hope we see it's comeback in June update. haha.
