Anything compile here on xda by source you must have a link to the source files .
Also all users should update their firmware. No matter the cause.. Cause by not updating firmware can lead to reboot issues on updated roms or even radio kill ( must reboot to regain signal again. ) . Also updated firmware leads to better performance on roms and sometimes battery.
But overall thanks

Yup i know. Never remember tho.lol As for firmware the only thing that really matters is the radio. If you look at the files in a hex youll see the build dates.

So how do i go about installing this? install zip from recovery? do i have to do anything such wiping? thanks so much.
Nope, doesn't stick.
"the only good bug is a dead bug"
only way I know is to use unrevoked to change recovery. It involves restoring using the original 2.1 ruu and unrevoking again. DO NOT USE THE 2.2 froyo ruu or you'll never root again.
Before you plug your phone in for unrevoked, start unrevoked and one of the options let you select a custom recovery. Select your custom recovery and then plug your phone into the pc. If you don't do it that way you'll wind up with 2.5 again.
Remember use the original htc rom for the aria. Not the 2.2 rom.

Where do you get the source?
cwm 3.0 cannot flash anything that uses amend based update scripts. The must be based on edify. Other than that its fine. And cwm is built everytime you build cm7.
So its completely safe to upgrade?

when can we expect it to be signed cuz i have tried and like the new features and a little change in interface
it doesnt matter if its signed as explained earlier in the thread the only way to have it stick is to restore your phone to stock unrooted 2.1(NOT 2.2) and use unrevoked with an alternate recovery.img

Yes, 3.x zips must use the new edify method. The old update script method does not work.

You can install the slimdroid port using CWM if you want to install the full version from Lenovo you will need to make sure you have the stock recovery installed. It is tricky but it works. Do a quick search and make sure you understand how the bootable sdcards work. The A1 is almost unbrickable but it can get scary at times as long as you have a boot sdcard you will be fine.
I have been running it for a couple of days it works well the battery drains a bit faster but much better than stock. CM7 is very nice too you can't go wrong with either one.

Well, I flash someone's rom with cwm and its very unstable it doesn't have wifi , gapps, and usb mass storage but it has usb debugging, I was thinking to change the files of the recovery to cwm using adb and do a fresh install of gb, is that ok?
The first thing you are going to want to do if you want to go back to stock and that is probably best and then go from there is download the following.
http://download.lenovo.com/slates/a1/OTA/A107W0_A234_001_015_2643_US.zip
http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~grm08/ideapad/cyanogenmod/stock-a1-ramdisk-2643.zip
http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~grm08/ideapad/cwm-5.0.2.7-rev3-ideapad-a1.zip
If you have a 16gb device grab
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23471133&postcount=409
First flash CWM 5.0.2.7 (you can use the newer one later if you want to but use this one for this)
Then if you have the 16GB model flash stock-mbr.zip and reboot into CWM. (if you have a 2GB device this will hose it the device don't do it)
Then flash the ram disk followed by the 2643 OTA.
If you have an issue installing CWM grab a bootable sdcard there are instructions in the ICS threads and use that to flash CWM.
The A1 is almost unbrickable unless you have a hardware problem you should be able to get it working again.
I inatall the alimdroid but the space for install apps is very reduce and the apps can't move tp th sd card is there any form to change that?

I could never get this image to install when I've tried it -- I suspect it requires a 4.2.X or earlier recovery to flash. (This image is quite old) My 4.3.1 recovery throws errors with this one.

It is available. Nightlies are being built every day. I believe the fix has also been rolled into the CM 10.2 codebase, and will hit in the next stable release. Though @Nardholio will have to confirm that.
Nightlies aren't stable question has it bee introduced to 10.2 stable release from December

The recovery I posted is the only recovery image that TeamApexQ supports. I also posted a recovery zip later in the thread that I can assure you works as well. Any other recoveries that you can get to work, excellent, but we are not supporting it. The OP will not be changed. As for the question of BTC, as I already stated, we've fixed it in CM-11. We found new firmware that works with it and the Relay.
