I flashed elix rom to experiment one day this week out of boredom, was just seeing what else is out there - was on slimkat and before cyanogenmon -
Then I wanted to go back to cyanogenmod but when I tried to flash, somehow unknown to me my bootloader seemed to have rolled back....typically I had deleted the zip containing the bootloader about three days previous.
ANYWAY - I just found it again and if anyone else should need it, here is the link to the forum that has the bootloader in it

[BOOTLOADER] (v4.23) (Android 4.3 JWR66V) N7 Wi-Fi - grouper

Hi guys, here it is download link of Nexus 7 WI-FI (grouper) bootloader v4.23 (stock one shipped with just released android 4.3 JWR66V)
It's not flashable via custom recovery, though.
Flashable version soon (if anyone is faster than me, PM me and I'll post it here :good
for short, fastboot command for flashing:
in fastboot mode, from computer terminal or prompt:
fastboot flash bootloader NAME_OF_THE_FILE.img
complete flashing guide (from adb setup to the end here - thanks to azoller1)
(Download)
MD5 DF53028033C9ECCF4FE5BA7BC198CE24
SHA-1 7B28B45A035EFB9AAD9E61AD09B1906EB5508721
(I don't take any responsibility about procedure, etc. You know the story, bootloader is from Google's factory image)
Thanks, is working well. For People who asks: You can still use 4.2.2- Roms with this Bootloader!
Is there a need this, or some advantage to it?

I tried to flash back to stock 4.3 earlier and it wouldn't let me because my bootloader was still on 4.18
Also, note the fact that the Google factory images website has the JWR66Y stock image instead of the JWR66V that is found here. For me when I was trying to flash the new bootloader earlier today, the version from the JWR66Y version gave me a 'Signature mismatch' error while the version found here did not.

[ROM][Factory Image][4.3][JWR66V] Nakasig - Odex, Deodex, Rooted - teshxx (08/17/13)

ONLY FLASH THIS IF YOU HAVE NEXUS 7 (GSM/HSPA+)
This is a 4.3 (JWR66V) Stock Rom made from Factory Image (Nakasig) released by Google.
Both Deodexed and Odexed versions are available. Both of them are rooted with unsecured boot with init.d support and includes busybox.
Wipe cache/dalvik. Flash via CWM or TWRP. Your data will be preserved.
Deodexed: Link 1
Odexed: Link 1
Please don't forget to hit Thanks and give proper credit when/if you decide to use this as a base.
Cheers!

WTH are you talking about? Nexus 7 GSM is nakasig.
NOW I'm confused ... What is Nakasig then, the ROM? And Tilapia is the Nexus 7 3G?

I get "Update Error (status 0)" when flashing the deodexed version with CWM. I also tried with TWRP recovery, but that fails, too. I verified that md5 checksum matches.
I'm stumped.
hi, if i'm on aosp rom it's better to take the odex or deodexed release ? Thx for your answers.
I get the same error. Thought it was me at first. I tried both deodexed, and odexed with TWRP. Both failed.

I got the same error; Install failed.
I 'm on 4.3 stock with bootloader 4.23 and TWRP 2.6
I am also unable to install the deodexed version. I get a error executing updater binary in zip in both TWRP and CWM. I am assuming its a problem in the updater binary or script file.
odex also fails both TWRP and CWM
Sorry guys. I didn't even know about flashing errors until someone actually msged me today. Will upload the new files with new binary asap.
EDIT: Links updated. Can someone try them for me? Thanks!

I don't have a nexus 7 3g. So no I can't test it. People keep on msging me to release it so I did. I asked people to test it, but everybody wants it and nobody wants to test it. So yes the binaries have changed and I can replace them as see which one works, but I need someone who can test it for me. If you want to be helpful then you can volunteer to help test it, if now stop criticizing. Criticizers are dime a dozen. I am not getting paid for this neither do I owe it to anyone to release it. I do it because people ask and I love xda.

International Users Please Read

Since there is an international and US version out you guys/gals will be getting OTAs long before us ATT users. If you ever get a notification that you have an update available please let us know here and we will help you pull the OTA. Many reasons we need it. Mainly so when an RUU drops we can decompile it.
OTA is being pushed out to international users. Please let me know when you get the notification

If you are interested in flashing it you must be almost fully stock. As in not flashed the stock rooted odex. If you haven't flashed any roms or kernel then you can just open this zip then open firmware.zip and extract the recovery.img from the zip and fastboot flash recovery recovery.img. then you will be able to run the ota

No, os. So you wiped the entire device? You'll have to use adb to put a rom on or side load it.

See rootSU's signature above. He has fine guides linked there. But how do you know you have no os if your data is intact? Do you have a rom zip on your device you can flash in twrp? I assume you don't have a nandroid or you would have tried that already.

So then download a ROM and push it to your phone so you can then flash it via recovery.
Please try to keep your help requests limited to 1 thread. When you start cross posting , things can get messy

Hi everyone , i was wondering if any of you guys found a good way to root the latest version version , i tried to manually root via recovery but nothing , please let me know if any of you guys sucessfully did , thanks in addvance .
Yes, pretty much everybody, I'd guess. What method did you use? SuperSU? Doitright?
Best to think of all the answers you want and supply the info up front - you save everybody a lot of time, not least yourself.
I used SuperSU , 3 or 4 different versions 3 betas and 1 not beta then bootloop after every SuperSU installation .. Then I flashed the boot partition again and I removed the bootloop but the root was not there ..

2. Boot with TWRP and flash SuperSU.
