Since there is an international and US version out you guys/gals will be getting OTAs long before us ATT users. If you ever get a notification that you have an update available please let us know here and we will help you pull the OTA. Many reasons we need it. Mainly so when an RUU drops we can decompile it.
OTA is being pushed out to international users. Please let me know when you get the notification

Here is the link for this update:

If you are interested in flashing it you must be almost fully stock. As in not flashed the stock rooted odex. If you haven't flashed any roms or kernel then you can just open this zip then open firmware.zip and extract the recovery.img from the zip and fastboot flash recovery recovery.img. then you will be able to run the ota

From all the threads in general, it would seem the update does unroot your phone. Also from those threads it would seem flashing a custom recovery and, subsequently, the su zip will give you root back. I don't know of a pre-rooted version out yet.
i just upgraded to ics a little while ago using rom manager, i had to go back to stock 2.3.3 which unrooted my phone but did not lock the phone . I was wondering the same thing and that is how the heck do i root my phone now lol. my phone still shows the unlocked lock on the boot up screen under "Google" but i dont have SU permissions anymore. if I still have su.zip file and cwm can i just use fastboot and flash the img and su.zip ?
What if I don't have my original files to roll back to stock GB? I just downloaded the version Koush put up on his twitter...will that allow me to flash in CWM and update?

Download stock images from from manager then update to 2.3.6 then you can flash the one from koush's twitter.
Root will be lost after update. Currently flashing su.zip wont work. Still trying to figure it out.

We might just have to re*root when they release the info.

Let me ask you also, I'm currently running Alpha13 w/ Francisco.Franco kernel. Is the official that much smoother that I should lose my root?

Hello I have gingerbread, but I bought it used and the guy had it rooted. So now the phone is always trying to update to ics but it can't because its rooted. All these popup messages are getting really annoying. So I just want to either update to ics or get a custom rom. Idk which one is better and I have no idea how to do either. Please help, thanks.
You should get rommanager and flash cwm recovery. Then donwload a ota that can be flashed with cwm and flash it. After that download the superuser zip to gain root again, flash it and you are set.
Good luck.

Ight guys like the title says I need help on getting my gs3 back to where I can unlock my bootloader.. when I had first got the phone I was able to root and unlock and then as u all know about Verizon forcing update on our phones it happened to mine.. so I went ahead and rooted the phone with no problem and then downloaded the ez-unlock and it says that my bootloader is unlocked but it doesn't let me lock it but anyways I downloaded the cm10 nightly and gapps and when I flashed it and when I rebooted it it went to a message saying that I have downloaded a unauthorized software and that I had to take it to Verizon... so I did the whole system flash think and went back to stock the. Rooted again and the ez app tells me that my bootloader is still unlocked so I powers off and went to the downloading thing on boot up and at the bottom it shows a quadcomm secureboot. If you have taken the 4.3 OTA, you cannot unlock your bootloader. Any attempt to do so will brick your device. If you have already attempted it this thread will most likely help:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586319
If you already bricked it you can download a debrick file, download the 16 gb pit file or do a factory restore from scratch. I was able to get rooted, and unlocked on 4.3 with my S3 let me take a look back at my files, and I can tell you which ones you need, and how to fix your issues.:good:

I used 1.2 on my VZW GS III with 4.4.2 and it got bricked upon reboot. And from what I've seen it was as soon as the 4.3 update and I believe a recent firmware update, as well. If you have the latest firmware and at least 4.3, don't use EZ-Unlock at all unless you want to go through hoops to possibly (no guarantee) get it working again.

Few observations:
- You can now enable the transparent status bar setting in NOVA launcher!!
- Group Messaging is now featured
- Emoji's don't send as MMS anymore
- Weather animation on secure lockscreen
- You get Immersive mode now with apps that support it.
They disabled Google Wallet which sucks but I'm sure their will be a workaround eventually.
