Can anyone give me an easy way to Root an Acer 200 Iconia Tab. I keep hitting walls whenever I search and the one thing I haven't tried, SimpleTool, is MIA. Help?

Try Framaroot app....
Please Don't Forget to read the forum rules... you must add an appropriate title to the thread... [Q] is just an addition to make the thread type more clear.... Thanks...
whoops!
I tried Framaroot and I get an error message that says "Your device seems not vulnerable to exploit included in Framaroot" I don't know why. I've got usb debugging activated and there is nothing special about this tab. it's old lol Argh!
maybe you have to unlock the bootloader first!

Well that would be the easy way huh? Ok, another stupid question, and I apologize as I am very very new to this...How do I unlock the bootloader? I did download an emulator on the tablet and tried to type in adb something and it didn't work. Again, I am sorry to be such an idiot when it comes to this stuff...but I find it fascinating and I am just trying to learn.

This would be ideal but it uses SimpleTool and I cannot find that anywhere. When you click the link, it takes you to a page that is no longer active.
I can't root my S4 because it's on AT&T and from what I understand AT&T has locked the bootloader and no one has figured out how to unlock just yet but this little Acer tablet should be a cake walk but apparently I am not the pastry chef because I am stumped.

nothing wrong you can ask ....bootloader is a kind of security put by the manufacturer and after unlocking this will wipe your data .... and its not necessary that every phone/tab has a locked bootloader ....for eg. most of the samsung phones have bootloader unlocked whereas htc phones you have to do that manually ...it differs from every manufacturer so im not preety sure that it has a locked bootloader ....... so u gotta try if root doesnt work maybe its locked bootloader

I was wondering now that djrbliss has released the vulnerability for AT&T SGS4 do we have to wait for devs to do something with it? For Loki tools it seems as if you have to have a recovery already made. Will a current one work?
https://github.com/djrbliss/loki
this seems more like a user made htc dev, not what true s-off "bootloader unlocked" would be. non the less it should work fine. this probably wont touch the write enabled protection on the device. the only issues i see is until we are truly unlocked we will always have that "samsung custom" on out bootscreens.

He released his source code and such so we need to have someone compile it into a .bat or .exe so we can flash a custom recovery/rom
its linux only, and devs need to use/make teh loki_patch.

Yes, everyone needs to keep the OTA .apk's frozen from now on. Or use a custom rom that doesn't have them.

The install SuperUser or SuperSU and every time root fails even if said app is installed. Please help Im doing a talk on August 20th that I NEED this device for. All help appreciated. Thanks!
Im slightly confused as your sig says rooted stock
But anyway I recently got myself a Razr HD and I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2241788 to root and unlock bootloader

Please ask specific questions as its related to the phone model. I'm not hopefully about it. You can get it serviced by "bootloader repair" Should be about 40$.
Some of the more common phones can be unbricked on your own.

I've already posted here, but I received only one answer, so I decided to speak more general just to know if it is theoretically possible to rescue a phone in the situation I described.
Anyway, do you think that there is no way that the pc can communicate with a phone that doesn't even reach the bootloader?
Ok, I'll ask a different question: the phone I'm talking about ended up this bad while flashing an official OTA.
How is that possible?
I thought there was no possible way that an OTA messed with the bootloader, or the recovery... or fastboot! Doesn anyone know what could possibly have gone wrong during the update?

Actually, it seems like your phone is bricked, there are some methods to unbrick some phones but I don't know if they would work for you, just try to do a Google search how to unbrick a bricked phone, and it might return with some useful stuff, try everything that's possible, because nothing worst can happen over a brick(except it can blast in your hand if you connect a high voltage in place of battery)(lol, it won't happen! )
Hit Thanks if I helped sent from my SM-T211
Already done that, I'm giving up if my pc cannot communicate with the phone.
At this point I'd only like to know how could an OTA corrupt the bootloader.

Ok I think I really may have messed up big time with this guys so I'm begging for some help.
]So I just recently bought a AT&T LG G3 on ebay in excellent condition everything worked great until I started experimenting. I rooted it using KingRoot but later decided I'd rather use another method of root because I prefer SuperSu to manage my root access...Anyways to make a long story very short. I needed to get into download mode but Kill Switch had already locked me out because I rooted it..I did not know that McAfee would lock my phone when I rooted.. and so as a last ditch effort I attempted to wipe the entire drive and re-flash the OS well to my surprise that did completely erase the OS as expected but not the Kill Switch. So now im stuck at LG Welcome screen and cant do anything.. I'm at the mercy of the web help PLEASE!!! smh

welcome buddy.?
guys i want to root my phone on the fast and very simple way possible.
found this root method on https://autoroot.chainfire.eu
this is the link for the root method https://download.chainfire.eu/982/C...Auto-Root-heroqltetmo-heroqltetmo-smg930t.zip
i did not tryed it my self yet. but if theres a user that rooted their phone that way, let me know.
bump
I don't think this will work unless we get our Bootloader unlocked (which hasn't been done yet as far as i know)
UNLOCK BOOTLOADERS
If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device - with the exception of Nexus devices, which will usually automatically "OEM unlock" and wipe your data !
this is kind of lame.... why chainfire release a auto root if the thevice have bootloader locked down? and onlockable?
Confused myself
I want to say root is possible, there are tons of sites with instructions: https://www.google.com/search?q=SM-...i57j0j69i60.9343j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Of course, XDA doesn't seem to have a specific G930T thread for rooting with instructions, then see threads like this today. I was all set to give it a try, but unsure if should proceed...
Did find this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s7/help/sm-g930t-root-doesnt-void-warranty-t3415936
EDIT: so the one linked in original comment was the bleeding edge root process and seems like had a really high failure rate. Most current I've seen is: http://lifeatsamsung.com/root-t-mobile-galaxy-s7-sm-g930t-2/
Seems a little more clean cut and easy. I'll edit again if I find a newer solution or at least commentary on success/fail
In comments OP posts:
Yes I am planning to make a video tutorial.

Worked for me, no problem. Even installed the debloated, deox'd ROM. Unfortunately after root you will need to follow rest of guide, otherwise you will see some lag issues.
On the other side of it, phone is great, fast, if not faster than before, and got root. Let me know if you would like some screenshots proving a TMO phone is rootable or if can answer any questions

This means that the only rooting method right now isn't as stable as it would be if it had a unlocked bootloader the root right now will cause some issues but they can easily be fix from some of the steps after rooting guides that are in the xda forums and yes it using a Qualcomm processor Witch is pretty much the snapdragon and there hasn't been any luck this past year of getting the bootloader unlocked for full and smooth rooting I'm really ****ty at explaining sorry if your still lost
The Chainfire method he released does NOT work. I'm not sure why he released it...maybe he knows of a future bootloader unlock that we don't know about.
