Okay, so When I heard Samsung officially released kitkat I thought we're going to get the s commander or blah blah blah... but one thing that bothers me is while other tablets have multiple lockscreen widgets, we're stucked at one and can't update! Is this what really on the update? Or maybe I just did something wrong. ..

It's easy. Download Sqlite editor from playstore, you have to be rooted, of course. Than open it, and in system find entry "multiple lockscreen". Change value from 0 to 1, save, and there you have it

I dont understand.
In 4.4.2 the lockscreen is splitted in 2 parts (no borders or something). Right you have the password "window" after the boot.
Then the same screen part is for "wake up with a wipe of your finger" later.
But when you wipe the left part there appears a "+" what you use to add some widgets for the boot-lock-screen.

Hello All,
Just a quick question... can the mini apps at the bottom be changed to use other apps? I called Sammy tech support and they said I'd have to check w/Google since it's built into the ICS OS. I find this odd because I've checked other tabs at Worst (Best) Buy and they didn't have this mini-app tray.
I want to use other apps in its place. I wonder why when you view the mini apps you'll see an "edit" icon, however, when you click on it, everything is greyed out so you cannot edit or switch-out the mini-apps.
Thanks!

I don't have it in front of me, but I believe that lets you add and remove the existing quick apps. Also, it probably isn't out of the realm of possibility that someone could develop a quick app and it would appear, but I bet there isn't a whole bunch of people building these quick apps.

Mini Apps is built into the status bar, not the launcher. it will always be there.
Hate it...i wish i could get rid of the miniapps, sometimes it pressed accidentally and bug my gaming time
If Olny some1 develope mini app for the notes that would be great for ppl who read and like to write quick notes, If Only....
install gmd gesturecontrol to hide the status bar
You wont press any mini apps accidently then. Also when you press edit you double click on a mini app to add/remove it.
You can remove them, they annoyed me so I got rid by following the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692173
Obviously make a back-up before deleting the suggested files if you feel you may want thm back at some point (not that I did )!

Alright well i just decided to root my phone and unlock the boot loader as well as loading liquidsmooths 4.1.2 ROM on here.. now my question is. how am i supposed to send emoji? like i can see emoji now but i see no option to send them.. that kind of defeats the whole purpose am i right?
also is there a way to change it from displaying Jellybean emoji to IOS 6 native emoji? i kind of prefer the look of those.
last question.. this is off topic but i'd like to change my boot loader image from liquid smooths back to the annoying Verizon LTE one, does anyone have the flashable zip for that?

hit the menu key and click "insert emoji" and then tap the order of the emoji you want and then hit the button at the bottom of the emoji window (should be OK or Send or something like that)
as far as the other 2 questions go, not sure about the native ios6 emoji as i don't really care cuz i only have 1 friend that uses emoji so i never paid too close attention, in my incredible 2 flashing days, devs had to cook native emoji support into it by modifying files...and shouldn't rom toolbox or that one app that has different boot images have that on there?

[Q] Replace the "Always" and "Just Once" options when opening a link/file...
Is there any way to mod the phone so that instead of asking if I want to use a particular app "Always" or "Just Once" it assumes its "Just Once" unless I click an "Always" check box?
Its really a drag, especially on web links when I have 6 browsers and may want to use a different one at different times for whatever reason, to have to keep selecting the app and hit "Just Once" every single time. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
SOLVED SOLUTION:
For this to work you must install the [XPOSED Framework] and the [AlternateAppPicker: ICS-style default app chooser for JB]
This Xposed modification brings back an ICS-style default application picker where you just tap the application name once for it to launch, and tap a checkbox prior to that if you want it to be the default app.

Anyone who was hoping to be able to use the new launcher (such as myself) will be happy to know that you can! It appears that the option is there in the 4.2 OTA update, it is just hidden from the settings menu. I assume that Asus are probably still working on it and will release it in a future update.
The only modification I made to Droid-Eye's method was to simply use a setting shortcut widget rather than an entire launcher option such as ADW.
I used 'Secure Settings' from Google Play, which is free. Please bear in mind you also need an Ipack for an icon for your shortcut. Luckily Secure Settings has a handy link to download free ones from Google Play when you are setting up your shortcut.
I hope it helps anyone desperte to try out the new launcher style. It seems many people hate the new launcher, and I'll admit that I did myself the first time I saw it. However, it has grown on me and I'm going to give it a run to see if I like it over the old style. I can always change back...for the moment anyway.
Note: There is no need to be rooted or unlocked to do this. You can always change back to previous launcher by setting up another shortcut widget in the new style launcher. Your tablet will need to restart to make the change, that is normal.
Screenshots.
As Droid-Eye correctly pointed out, the home soft button doesn't line up with the app draw button. I haven't found any other bugs yet.

I didn't even think about giving this its own thread. Hopefully, more people will consider trying the new layout now instead of just sticking with the status quo. I know not everyone will prefer them but it's always better to have the choice (I mean, this is Android after all).
Thanks for the credit.

Thanks, man. I've been playing around in the activities shortcuts since I first got my brand new (at the time) Moto Droid with 2.0.1(to give you a time frame). I've found all kinds of cool stuff that way and it's nice finding solutions that don't require root once in a while. I highly recommend combing through the system activities if only just to see if there's anything hiding, waiting for a later update. This is how I found Face Unlock before they were ready to give it to us, too (though it took some interesting hoop jumping to get it to actually work). Also how I found the stock android dialer so I could try it wwith different SIP clients (still a work in progress).
Anyway, dig through the activities. Guaranteed you'll find something to play with in there.

Maybe check the tf300 threads (since they're the only other ones with this ability) and see if anyone's found a workaround for it. If it's happening for them too and there isn't a fix, I'm sure GMD will want to know about it so it can be fixed before the rest of the tf700 and tf201 communities run into it. Either way, keep the shortcut handy and you can always toggle back whenever they update the app.

The setting is there, just the Secure Settings tool is less than intuitive. Keep looking around at the tool. I had to look at the sample picture in the second post several times before I figured out what it was showing. I'll post instructions later in the evening when I have time if no one else does.

After you have selected to create a widget using secure settings, pick an app, wait, and select settings. Next, you can click the .settings textfield. That will bring up a long list where you have to pick the .settings#launcherSwitchSettingsActivity. (Almost at the end of the list) Save.
Give the shortcut an appropriate name, pick an icon, and save the shortcut.
Just install Nova launcher.

Unfortunately, I didn't (well, at least not for what you're seeing in that screenshot). If you visit plus.google.com in Chrome, it offers to put a link to the site on your home screen. So, that icon just opens the web version of Google+. I did install Google+ earlier today, but because I had to sign it myself to remove the conflicting permissions (it conflicts with the improperly built Gallery app), Google's servers rejected the client. IMO, the only chances we have of getting a working Google+ installed are 1) if the phone is rooted, then we should be able to replace the Gallery app with a non-broken one, or 2) Lenovo needs to fix it. Option 2 might happen by accident if they ever decide to release Android 7.
Looks like you can only change the lock screen wallpaper to a static picture, no live wallpapers unfortunately. On other phones you can.
Also, I can install and use Google+ just fine it seems, perhaps because I installed their latest December update.

My stock launcher somehow become corrupted, every second, I get "Unfortuantely Launcher has stopped working". It was a ***** to get to the Google Play store between saying, "ok" and having the message pop again in 1 second. So I was able to get into Play store and install another Launcher that is near the original Launcher_3. However, it does not have that LockScreen Walpaper mode.
I don't know how to fix and reinstate the original launcher. Even after trashing and reinstalling it, it still doesn't work.
Any insight?
