I've recently updated to android 4.4.3 through sideload as the OTA isn't available yet.
I've noticed the system to be sluggish and slow. Animations have at least 1 second lag. Even the buttons have a response lag. Everything just seems to be slow.
Could there be any sort of fix to speed it up. It was never this bad back on 4.4.2

You need 4.4.3, it's the latest version of Android.

It should not be slow. Something must not have flashed correctly.
Edit, this will re-flash 4.4.3 to your phone and won't wipe anything http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53109563

Whoops, I actually meant 4.4.3.
If your testing this directly after a flash then it may be throttling

So I'm on a Verizon non dev edition moto X running stock 4.4.2. The network got released yesterday and I am unable to stream anything from it. The app crashes every time I try.
I've dealt with the customer support and they transfer me, and I get disconnected.
Anyone have any ideas? Anyone get it working on 4.4.0?
I'm having the same issue with my 2013 Nexus 7. Early yesterday the app was causing my device to reboot, now the app just force closes, so I guess progress is being made.

I'd say early release jitters. I didn't even see videos on the site. I'd say give it a week to iron out the kinks.

Thanks to reddit, this is fixed. Turns out it doesn't work with ART. switched back to Dalvik and it's all good.
Hey guys,
For about two days now, ever since I updated my Nexus 5 (running on T-Mobile) to 4.4.3 using the OTA, Google Hangouts is failing to send texts in phases. For one hour or so it'll fail every other text until I resend it, then after that it works for a few hours again perfectly fine, then back to failing some.
I'm going to try using Evolve SMS for a bit to see if it happens there, but something tells me this isn't Hangouts' fault.
I am rooted and have a custom recovery, but it's been that way for months (Before 4.4.3 update) and I doubt would affect it.
Thanks,
David
Try cheating the cache in hangouts. If that doesn't work uninstall it, reboot, and then reinstall it from play store

I'll do that, I just cleared my cache/dalvik too. Unfortunately Hangouts is hardwired into stock so I can only uninstall updates, but if it acts up again I'll try that.

I do, although I'll use that as a last resort at the moment haha. Still think it's a more widespread-than hangouts problem.
Update: Switched to Evolve SMS, still happening x.x
I was also having this issue using Chompsms. Reverted back to 4.4.2 and the issue is gone. Also on T-Mobile

I think it was with T-Mo in my area. My friend was on Nexus 5 stock 4.4.2 and having the problem, it's since gone.
Tldr: Issue resolved itself, was likely T-Mobile's side
Anyone install this yet? Where is the safest place to download from?
Mostly looking for success/failures before embarking on the journey. I like my Nexus 5 and hope this can remedy some of the battery drain issues I have been having.

New version?Need to try this....:good:
There's no reason why you shouldn't update. Eventually it will update on it's own, and this is probably nothing major.
Rumors it helps battery, but ya know, placebo.

clear z cache... or maybe you have to much contacts..
For me it opens slowly from the lockscreen (left-to-right swipe), otherwise its pretty fast (from a homescreen shortcut)...
Yeh I have the same thjng, let's see if wiping the cache will help.
I have the same problem, it drives me nuts... thinking about going back to 4.4.4.
Seeing the same thing on N5 Lollipop. I'm also using Google Voice for all calls--maybe related to that?
The phone dialer indeed starts slower on Lollipop (in comparison with KitKat)..
Since I installed the 5.1 update on my Nexus 5 (no root) I've been having this bug on my camera app.
Every time I open the camera (whether it is the standard app, or for example inside the WhatsApp app) the brightness is just extremely low. The only way to fix this is taking a picture, close the app and open again. Brightness is back to normal and everything is fine.
A while later its just the same story all over again.
Any solutions or suggestions?
Am I the only one with this problem BTW?
How did you update to 5.1? Try to flash the factory images if you didn't do it before.
If it's a Google bug then it will might be fixed with 5.1.1 which is around the corner
Same issue for me on Nexus 4. Flashed factory images.
