are you rooted and modified anything with your system? and i mean anything, even a build.prop edit. xposed?

You removed Google books. Restore it.

I use Xposed framework and I'm rooted. What should I do about it? Restoring books won't really help I guess since I'm not getting OTA anymore

You have to be bone stock unmodified to install the ota

Crap... Any manual to unroot, unlock and flash stock recovery?

or, to make things easier, find a rooted/stock 4.4.3 rom and flash it via your custom recovery. no need with the headache of everything else that way. if there arent any around(im pretty sure there are) then wait a day or two, there will be
edit..
heres a stock rooted rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/development/flashable-stock-4-4-3-supersu-t2771010

But then I have to configure everything from scratch

maybe you can make it better this time
you can try dirty flashing, just make a backup in case.

Or you could just not bother. Sounds like 4.4.3 isn't worth the effort anyway. I'm staying on 4.4.2 since I have no significant issues. We'll see what Google I/O brings.

do you have a custom kernel?

Use Wugfresh's Nexus Root Toolkit:

NO. just no.

I'm having the same problem. Twrp is telling me that dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot has unexpected content. I did have elementalx kernel installed, but I flashed the stock 4.4.1-4.4.2 kernel before I tried to install the 4.4.3 update.

I thought you had to be totally stock to actually be able to install the ota. You can get it if you're not stock, but it won't install. In this case, I think what's holding you up is that you have a custom recovery.

That's wrong though. You can install an ota update through a custom recovery, and is pretty normal too. You can't however have a custom kernel or modified system files.

I made some progress now. Now everything works nice till the installation ui screen, at installation ui screen it displays nothing and also installs nothing. Do u have any idea about hw to fix that?
No errors? Possibly an issue with update-binary or file structure hard to say without seeing it, can you upload it

[Q] failed to update rooted nexus 7 2013 from 4.4.3 to 4.4.4

Hi everyone,
I have update my rooted Nexus 7 2013-LTE using the method described here:
liliputing.com/2014/06/upgrade-nexus-android-4-4-3-without-losing-root.html
successfully. I used SuperSU and Xposed framework was temporarily uninstalled. However, when I tried the same procedure to update to 4.4.4, following errors are appearing:

failed to stat "/cache/saved.file": No such file or directory

It seems that file debuggerd is somehow changed (my guess by stickmount app). Is it correct that I have to replace the one installed in my /system/bin/ with the original one to continue updating to 4.4.4? Does anyone have the original debuggerd file nexus 7 2013-lte 4.4.3?

Softbricked my opo

Hi guys, yesterday I tryied for the first time to update franco kernel's last update via FKU Beta and as a resoult my phone won't start anymore. When i power it on it get stuck on the boot logo (the one right after the cyanogen logo with powered by android). I can access to TWRP and i can access to adb but usb debugging it's turned off I think (is it possible to verify it?).
Inside the phone there is a very recent TWRP backup (yes, I tryied already to restore it from TWRP but no changes) and a Titanium Backup of all my apps. Is it possible to save it somewhere? What can I do to fix my phone?
Pleeeease help me Thanks in advice!
Which partitions are backed up in your TWRP backup?

You had Franco kernel installed at some point? The remnants are screwing with the OTA. You need to clean flash with a full wipe.

yes I had franco so i made a clean flash of r33, wiped cache and dalvik then i tryied to flash r38 with that error
Wiping cache and dalvik isn't enough, you need to wipe system/data/cache/dalvik cache, then install clean 33R, then you can take the 38R update. Or you could just flash the full recovery flashable version of 38R after wiping system/data/cache/dalvik cache, that's probably the easier solution.

Hello,
Are you on latest bootloader? If not, please update it.
Flash the TWRP based on latest bootloader in bluspark kernel thread.
