The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. Perhaps you can't find posts on how to root your phone, install custom recovery or maybe you have questions about how to navigate and use features on the site.

[Q] Unable to find instructions..

I have been searching for about 2 days now on a definite " How To " to install Vahalla - Black Edition. I haven't been able to find one. Am I blind or not understanding the instructions. [Q] Question - RR Mod - G3 i747 - Can't install Torque from app store

I can't access the thread specific to the RR remix mod newest (v5.1.2) version so I figured I would ask here. I have an ATT Galaxy G3 i747.
Every time I try and install Torque Pro I get the error: Unknown error code during application install: -24".
I have tried some suggestions I found when googling that error code such as totally removing any left overs via titanium backup pro... does anyone have any ideas? Would this be a problem to report to the app developers or the ROM developer? No other apps have had this issue.
Thank you in advance for any help!

[Completed][Q] Hasee E50 S1 | Google Play Store Error

Hello All,
My uncle has recently came back from china and brought a Hasee E50 S1.
He tried to install Google Play 4.9.13 using an APK file, but anytime I run the play store I get the following error message:
"Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped."
I've googled a lot, no concrete information about the specific device, but many suggestions generally that didn't solve my problem.
At first I deleted the app data and cache, which seem to work until I've tried to download an application from the store and the same error came back. following attempts of this method didn't event get me back to try and download an application.
I tried to install a different version (4.5.10), download APKs of Google Play Services (3.1.36 and 4.4.48) and delete app data and cache again.
I've read that making Play Store a system app might help, but the device is unrooted, and I do not know how to root it.
I have experience in rooting Samsung devices, and maybe an HTC or two, but I didn't find a guide for generic rooting who seemed "safe" enough to try, especially because I didn't find any "unbrick" guide for this device (and no one will probably ever create such a guide...)
I've switched to a different Google account, and too - no change.
More information about the device:
Model number: Hasee E50 S1
Android version: 4.2.2
Baseband Version: MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V11.P7, 2013/12/12 21:57
Kernel version: 3.4.5 Thu Feb 27 16:07:13 CST 2014
Build number: Hasee_E50_S1_V1.3
Any help would be appreciated....
Thanks to all those who bothered to read this post,
wipkiko

I think u should put your questions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877166
This topic is only for LiquidSmooth questions
About your question: Install BMM and do partition stuffs then you will be able to install 4 more custom ROMs on your phone :fingers-crossed:
But first, read this great tutorial (including videos)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2602229
System 6 Error when loading Nano/mini Gapps on LS v32 Atrix2
I got brave today, after much reading on the forums and watching Tech ArnY rooting videos and BMM 0.3.4 - Great information.
Here are the steps that I took today and their results:
1.) Rooted the Atrix 2 MB865 (AT&T) that has OTA ICS 4.0.4 ROM. Rooting was successful,
2.) Post install of MBB 0.3.4 and SuperUser, I kept the ICS 4.0.4 ROM on System 1 of the phone.
3.) Next, following Tech Arn Y's teaching, I was able to successfully flash LiquidSmooth (AcePort-LS-KK-Milestone-3.2-edison.zip) onto System 3 post wipe clean /dalvik, et cetera and successful install.
4.) So far, so good. Next I attempted to load GAPPS from this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942). Again, post check of MD5 check sum for both mini and nano GAPPS - no issues.
5.) While attempting to flash either the mini or nano GAPPS onto the Atrix 2 into System 3, it shows the following (E: Error in /ext/pa_gapps-modular-nano-4.4.4-20141121-signed.zip) (Status 6) Installation aborted.
6.) I can boot into either ROM without issues, however, even after a reflash of System 3 and again successful install of LS-KK-Miestone 3.2, GAPPS gives Status 6 install error.
Looking for clues in these forums, but I have not come across anything yet. Any/all help would be very much appreciated!
@Starrider17 I'm betting your gapps are too large for your partition size. Find the PA gapps thread and download the pico gapps then try again. If it fails again the PA gapps will generate a log and place it on your SD card to tell you why it failed.

Thanks 1BadWolf for the reply. At first, I thought that the size of the GAPPS was perhaps the issue, but it did not end up to be the case. After continuing my search in XDA Forums (a wealth of great information here without doubt!), I stumbled upon a video that explained Status 6 and Status 7 errors which are the most common when flashing GAPPS post ROM into any phone. In my case, here is the summary of the events:
1.) Flashed pa-gapps mini 4.4.4 (at 229 mbytes ) - Status 6 error.
2.) Wipe clean System 3 and then flashed pa-gapps-nano 4.4.4 (at 120 mbytes) 2x - Status 6 error.
3.) Being somewhat frustrated, and yet challenged, I took the clue for the status 6 error and by chance, I grabbed the Slim_mini-gapps 4.4.4 (at 65 mybtes) - Gapps successfully loaded!
4.) Wanting to confirm whether the issue lives in the size of the GAPPS - or - something in one of the scripts (Meta-INF > com > google > android > update-binary or update-script), I went ahead and did another Wipe-Clean and flashed Slim-normal-gapps 4.4.4 (at 183 mbytes) - Gapps successfully loaded
Summary: In business and in life, something a solution or a work-around is found and implemented without knowing the root cause!
Hopefully, the documenting of my journey here will be beneficial to someone down the road just as many of the posting in this forum have been (and continue to be) to me too!
I have installed this ROM on my Atrix 2.. Stable rom as mentioned.I just found one bug,i.e The microphone for sound recording,Google voice or Whatsapp recording doesn't work But during a call the microphone does work. Please find a solution for it.

Hey guys, thanks for trying out my Liquidsmooth port and offering your feedback. Unfortunately, I'm no longer able to work on the existing ports or even lollipop since development has completely died down.
This is because our current recovery, BMM isn't able to boot any lollipop rom and it's the only working one we have. All developers and supporters have moved on pretty much, so all you can do is just play around with what's there. I'm still kinda around with my A2, but don't have the time to do anything anymore since I've moved onto a newer device, work, life, etc.
If you want someone to blame for this, firstly blame Motorola for the locked bootloader and then blame Google for making 5.0 have enforced SELinux which is why we can't boot any LP rom. Aside from that, this device is amazing to have and I hope you all have a wonderful time with it.

[Completed] Error while porting ROM

Hello Everybody !
I've started to work on my phone which is the Archos 45 Hélium 4G to port ROMS from his clone , the K-touch 2
I ported some ROMS, but now, i want to port MIUI V6 from the K-touch 3, which has the same CPU-GPU. The only difference is his screen, battery and camera
So I followed a small guide en.miui.com/thread-70745-1-1.html
I encountered some problems: - There is not BOOTCLASSPATH row in my boot.img, so i've just replaced the Device Tree from the stock ROM
- While flashing the zip, i have an error : " flash zip failed 'pathofthezip ' "
I did a logcat to understand where is the problem, the first logcat gave me: - exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) - ( I couldn't enter ADB shell because shell was deleted while installing the ROM )
So i flashed the stock ROM ( cM11 ), and tried again to flash my ported ROM, same error but the logcat gave me this: /system/bin/sh: exec: line 1: logcat: not found ( but i could use adb shell command )
I thought that the problem was the updater-script, but i didn't see any errors.
I've also tried with a different update-binary, same error
If you want the ZIP, ask me i'll give you the link, thanks in advance
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. At XDA Assist we are not a technical help desk so I can't help you with your specific question. But there are many guides on porting roms on XDA. I assume you've probably found some of them I would suggest asking in some of those threads. If you need to find the threads just google rom porting xda.
