For drivers, connect your phone to windows PC, download PDANET (search for it on google) and let it install drivers for your phone.
Preface: TOOLS and THREADS TO BE USED
1. MTK Droid Root and Tools by xda senior member rua1. Press thanks in his thread! Compatible with Windows and Linux(with wine).
2. SP Flash Tool Credits to Khonshu of china.phonearena. I downloaded v3.1344. Here's an xda thread on what you can do with it: Click Me! Troubleshooting SP flash tools: .Click here!
3. Pdanet for Windows drivers
Chapter 1.0.0: HOW TO ENABLE PHONE MODES
Steps:
1.1.0 For MTP mode
1.2.0 For ADB mode
1. Go to Settings>About Phone
2. Click Build number about 6 times, quickly. Developer Options should now appear.
3. Go back to settings then click Developer Options. Here you find so many things you thought didnt exist
4. For now, we only check USB debugging. When a pop-up appears, just click "ok". Done!
1.3.0How to enter recovery mode: (Credits to phcorner.com O+8.52 thread)
Method 1:
1. Remove battery and reinsert.
2. Press Volume Up and power key simultaneously.
3. A blank screen with an android lying down and a red exclamation triangle should appear now.
4. Press Power button once, and the menu will appear.
5. To navigate, Power: Show/Hide options. Vol UP: Confirm. Vol Down: Scroll.
6. When done, reboot system to exit.
Method 2: When you're on a PC,
1. Connect Phone in USB debugging mode.
2. Open cmd (or terminal then change directory to your adb folder) and
Code:
adb reboot recovery
1.4.0 For Phone test mode
1. Press Volume Down and Power simultaneously.
2. Choose among the options.
3. When done, remove battery to exit.
(It seems like reinserting the battery and doing VolDown+Home combo does not do anything else)
1.5.0 For fastboot (aka bootloader) mode
Requirements: Since you want to use fastboot, then you must be on an adb configured computer
1. Open cmd (or terminal then change directory to your adb folder)
2.
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
3. Wait for the phone. Done!
Chapter 2.0.0: ROOTING
Why root?
There are many methods to rooting. I will list what I know might work. I'm 99.9% sure the first one works (given you are not stuck in a bootloop.)
2.1.0 Shuame ROOT GeniusDownloadInfo: This is a one-click PC application. I have used this in Windows 7 32-bit and in lubuntu 13.10 and it works. If your phone is not an MT6572 I'd still recommend that you try this as it can root almost anything! It installs Kinguser as the superuser app.
2.1.1 Requirements for Windows PC: A Windows PC, a USB cable, your phone, and a fully downloaded shuame root genius. No drivers needed as shuame root genius already installs them for you.
2.1.2 Requirements For Linux PC users: A linux PC, a USB cable, your phone, a fully downloaded shuame root genius, WINE, and adb (I might be wrong here, but get this: Since drivers are not really used, we need our phone to be given adb permissions by linux, or else shuame will not be able to recognize your phone. So you will probably need to have adb installed first, just to be sure.)
For info on how to do that, check here: Click Me!
Also, shuame root genius does not display well under wine in my case, but the buttons were clickable anyway so it still works. From here, it's pretty much the same procedures.
2.1.3 Steps:
I made a visual guide here:

And in text, here:
1. Connect your phone to PC using the USB cable and go to MTP mode. See Chapter 1.1.0 for help
4. Enable USB debugging. See Chapter 1.2.0 for help.
5. Open Shuame Root Genius. It will connect to your phone automatically and install drivers for about 3-5 minutes. (No more driver installation on linux PCs)
6. Click "Root it". You should now see your device as rooted. And if you click back, you can unroot. Done!
2.2.0ErootDownload/help threadInfo: Another tool by Chinese developers. I tried it on my lubuntu 13.10 WINE and it worked flawlessly! I'm pretty sure it'll work on a Windows PC as well. It installs superuser by clockworkmod.
2.2.1 Requirements: See 2.1.1 and 2.1.2.
2.2.2 Steps:
Visual guide
Textual guide here:
1. Connect your phone to PC using the USB cable and go to MTP mode. See Chapter 1.1.0 for help
4. Enable USB debugging. See Chapter 1.2.0 for help.
5. Open eroot. It will connect to your phone automatically.
6. Click the root button. It's the only button anyway. When you have rooted successfully, you can click the 解除 button to unroot if you wish. Done!
2.3.0 MTK Droid root and tools
Connect Phone in ADB and MTP mode.Download/Help thread can be found in PrefaceRun MTK Droid Tools. Wait for it to recognize and establish a connection with your phone. This should appear after a minute:
Take note that a blue rectangle on the lower left means you're still not rooted. Press ROOT.
Wait for about three to five minutes. In my case, MTK Droid tools crashed So I didn't see a superuser app.
But I downloaded root checker and sure enough, my phone was rooted. Only the superuser app was missing.
I also opened MTK Droid tools again and saw a green rectangle (which means I am rooted :victory: )
So now, technically, you are rooted. But we still need a superuser app, so I downloaded a superuser app that I liked and updated the binary. I downloaded SuperSU by chainfire from the play store. Done!
or, you could try the superuser button in the root, backup, recovery tab. I didn't try it though

Chapter 3.0.0: RECOVERY STUFF
3.2.0 How to backup stock recovery
3.3.0 What is clockworkmod recovery?
3.4.0 What is carliv touch recovery?
UPDATE: I think O+ 8.31z was primarily sold for the Philippine Market; as such, I may be in competition with more Philippine based forums such as symbianize and gsmworldfive. Therefore, I think it would be best that I leave the two 8.31z links here and discontinue any plans on improving this thread. Here they are:
http://www.symbianize.com/showthread.php?t=1094034&page=10
^this link contains a SPFT flashable pre-rooted clean stock rom.
http://www.gsmworldfive.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37787
^this link uses the SPFT method too, but the rom here has much more root apps installed already, like swapper, greenify, auto ram cleaner etc. (Oh, stock keyboard was also taken out).
Both confirmed working to bring back a bootlooped 8.31z. I prefer the first one though
Until next time! My dad plans to sell this phone soon so I guess I won't be learning how to make custom roms anytime soon yet... Hope you guys are doing well

UPDATE: Since my dad hasn't sold it yet, I'm playing with it again. There is a Filipino facebook group that is dedicated for 8.31z users. I think they have custom roms ported there.

Chapter 4.0.0: ADD INIT.D SUPPORT TO STOCK ROM
Check here! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933849
I haven't personally tried any one yet. You are always proceeding at your own risk

Tweak for speed, battery life, and other cool/useful stuff.
Chapter 5.0.0: Speed
There are tons of stuff to speed up your phone, and they're not just limited to one specific phone. So bring in the list.
1. Use Greenify (find it in the play store)
Requirements: Root (optional for auto-hibernation. Highly Recommended.), Android 4.0+
You may greenify stuff like Guardian if you are not using it, or maybe the FB app too. Saves some battery and gives a little free ram for better multitasking.
2. Disable fancy window animations and transitions
Go to settings>developer options and disable the three animation options to animation off.
3. Use a cpu controller like No Frills CPU control (find it in the play store)
Controls how fast or slow you want your CPU to go. Default Governor is hotplug.
For a faster phone, set the governor to performance. It sets the CPU to scale to the max that you set. Use when you are playing heavy games.
For a battery saving phone, set the governor to powersave. It sets the CPU to scale to the min that you set. Use when you only plan to use really light apps.
For a balance between performance and battery save, it's probably best to go back to hotplug since it can turn the second core on or off depending on your usage.
4. Tweaks and Scripts
Info: Tweaks refers to build.prop tweaks. Scripts refer to init.d scripts. So this is a two-part thing. Adding build.prop tweaks, and running init.d scripts. Some do this two-part thing simultaneously in one flasher. Others, separate the tweak part from the script part. The reason they do this is because phones running from stock usually do not support init.d scripts, but only build.prop tweaks.
Our 8.31z cannot support init.d (yet) so for now we will only do the tweak part.
1. Tweak part of [ SCRIPT | TWEAK ] ◢ Project Fluid™ ◣ by Spex. [size="+1"]Recommended.[/size]
Please press thanks in his thread! This is not my work.
Project Fluid has a separable tweak part. I didn't apply all as some are optional. So I just applied it and what happened?
Using Antutu X Benchmark
Before Project Fluid Tweak: 7334
After Project Fluid Tweak: [size="+1"]9264!!![/size]I only selected some of the tweaks (i.e. I didn't use "unlock with volume rocker and other stuff like that) Here's what I added to my build.prop. Feel free to do the same.View attachment 2785183
How to:
1. Open ES explorer (I'm using latest version)
2. Copy the tweaks that you want to add to build prop. Find the tweaks in spex's post or copy my selected tweaks. And thank spex in his thread.
3. Press the menu button on your phone. Click tools. Click on for root explorer and grant root permissions.
4. Click root explorer. Click Mount R/W. Choose R/W for /system and click ok.
5. Navigate to /system and open build.prop with ES note editor. Press the menu button on your phone and click edit.
6. Now paste the tweaks into the build.prop file. Or type them manually
7. Reboot and enjoy!
2. Tweak of Dash-M Script and tweak by myaservip
Please press thanks in his thread! This is not my work.
Dash-M has a tweak part and a script part too. If you want to try Dash-M Tweak, go to his myaservip's thread and download the zip, transfer to the root of your sdcard, go to recovery mode, and flash from there. But personally, Project Fluid's tweaks are more complete. I haven't tried Dash-M script since we haven't added init.d so stay tuned.3. Script and Tweak of ★ [MOD] ◢ PurePerformances™X ◣ | Golden Edition | Scary performances on Android by Jeeko
Please press thanks in his thread! This is not my work.
This is a single inseparable script and tweak in one so we cannot use it yet. Stay tuned.[size="+1"]General reminder: Tweaks and scripts are usually not mix-able. So remove one before trying another.[/size]
Chapter 6.0.0: Cool/Useful Stuff
1. Xposed Framework and Modules.
Our device can definitely benefit from Xposed modules! 4.2 is capable of running these.
2. TouchPal Keyboard
A good replacement to stock keyboard. Contains different keyboard layouts and support for tons of languages! And if you have experienced the keyboard not pressing the right button, this might be a better replacement.
3. Moreto come.

Hi there fellow Filipino! Please continue what you're doing. I can help you in some way in installing CWM-esque recovery tool for our phone. As it is a UBIFS-type system, many have said that it's a tricky job. A lot have failed but some did it successfully like me. I followed this tutorial from here
chinaphonearena.com/forum/Thread-CWM-For-All-MTK-Easy-Magic-CWM-MT6575-MT6515-MT6577-MT6517-MT6589-MT6582-MT6592
Sorry I can't post links yet because this is a new account.
So I was able to boot into recovery, but I stopped there until someone successfully restore our phone from a backup (even if it's just stock ROM)
Cheers! You should try it!
PS. I tried your build.prop and benchmarked afterwards, only to get about 7100+. HOW DID YOU GET TO 9K?! Please indicate if you have a lot of apps and is greenify and that cpu tool the only apps you're using for speed?
After sometime though, my phone got slow, so I deleted the added lines in build.prop and speed went back on. What's happening?

Successfully enabled init.d! I used term-init. It was so easy! Just a matter of minutes. Now, to try some scripts...
Edit: Currently backing up using Carliv Touch Recovery, the MTK compatible CWM recovery tool, before going further. Will try restoring it later. If it is a success, then Chapter 3 is done!

Hi! I've been a little busy lately haha. I'll get back to updating this thread in a week or so
Are you new to this stuff? Or have you had previous experience before? Seems like you're going pretty well! I don't know much about this phone of ours yet, maybe you know more than I do
Update: So my O+ phone wasn't sold, and now I plan to use it. Just tested Carliv 2.4 using Yuweng's Auto Magic Installer, and it installed! Restore doesn't work though. And don't advance restore > restore system. You'll get a bootloop haha.

HELP
What is the best CWM or TWRP on my o+8.31z, newbie here. and How? any Help. Thank you for rooting process. as well.

[TOOL] Kernel Update Utility 0.9 - Flash kernels easily!

Kernel Update Utility 0.9YouTube video"Making kernel flashing a bit easier"
About:
This lightweight tool takes a kernel, and flashes it to your device. You can give it the kernel in zImage or CWM flashable zip format. Some people have come across bootloops when using clockworkmod to flash kernels, hopefully this tool will prove to fit better for the job. It can also push and apply kernel modules. I have now flashed a kernel using this tool more times than I can count, and not a single bootloop or failed flash.
This tool is ideal for people who do not want to mess with command lines, and people who want the job done fast and easy.
System requirements:
Windows XP SP2 or higher
.NET 4.0
HTC Sync (or ADB drivers)
Rooted, ENG S-OFF Desire HD
Changelog:
0.9:
- Added support for Lee's kernels
0.8:
- Added support for Kamma's new kernels
0.7:
- Fixed Windows XP file not found -bug
- Optimized the code further
0.6:
- Most cmd windows hidden
- Better instructions in module pushing
- Out of beta!
0.5a:
- Optimized a lot of code
- Improved SU permissions; fixed modules not getting pushed with phones that do not have root adb by default
- Cleans up /system/lib/modules to ensure cp functionality
0.4:
- It is now possible to choose multiple modules
- It cleans up afterwards
0.3:
- CWM zip file flashing, pushes all modules
- Space in filename -bug fixed

Yeah, I will
I will also make this work with CWM flashable zips, I am programming that in right now.
Hi,
good news, thanks.

starbase64
It can now flash zip files that would usually be flashed in clockworkmod. Using my app to flash it should reduce the possibility of a bootloop. Also the space in filename -bug has been fixed.
e: Another update, now for selecting and applying kernel modules. Please leave feedback! Is there something I should change? Any features you would like to see in this tool?
Keep in mind that this tool can also be used for recovering from some bootloops, where kernel itself is not properly flashed. In some situations, however, boot.img corrupts in CWM flash, then you will have to restore a partial nandroid.
thanks.. now i wish there is a tool for pushing ENG hboot and CWM recovery .. where is unrevoked
Well, I can enable my tool to flash a recovery, but because flashing hboot is so risky, I think I will not do that feature..
So, are people interested in a recovery flasher?
So now I can flash the .zip files that before I was flashing with the recovery with this application?
Yeah, if those files are kernels. This tool has been tested with Apache14's 1.2 and 1.5 GHz OC/UV kernels.

Noob question but how can you revert back to original kernal?
Not tried this yet But this is What I been waiting for. How long does the process take?
Thanks
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Used this tool to flash the Buzz 1.51GHz Kernel. First off, congrats on such an easy to use tool for noobs like me. It's really simple and straightforward. However, I now have a problem with my wifi not working (just shows 'error' in wifi settings). I'm guessing this is because the module didn't apply properly? I've tried it a couple of times now with the same result...although I fully accept it could be stupidity on my part.
Further info:
I have root (permenant, via visionary+) and S-off (Eng HBoot installed) but not installed clockwork recovery yet.
I start the app, set my DHD to 'charge only', tick 'I understand the risks' and click next.
Browse to the file I downloaded for the Kernel (this one) and click 'next'.
click 'go to fastboot' (phone reboots in fastboot mode) click 'Flash' and something about 'writing zimage' flashes past. Click Next. (phone reboots)
When phone reboots I enter my PIN, unlock the phone and select 'charge only' for the USB connection (this isn't mentioned, but I figure it needs to be connected like this for the adb stuff to work) and press 'apply modules'. Something on my phone requests superuser access (not sure if this is just co-incidence or something the app is doing) so I allow it. Loads of messages flash past on my desktop (I assume this is applying the modules) and the app says 'modules pushed and applied'.
My wifi status shows 'error' so I try a reboot. Still shows error.
Any ideas?

Same issue here, does not push the wifi module
Strange, it does push it for me. I'll investigate. It may have something to do with root rights, does bcm4329.ko appear to your sdcard?
Nope, doesn't appear in sdcard.
For further info I tried it with 0.3 as well, same result.
Also, none of the modules get pushed, it's not just the wifi one.
My app removes the files from sdcard afterwards, so they might not be there anymore when you check it. I have now uploaded a new version with completely new SuperUser access code, also a lot of the code has been optimized.
This version works for me 100%, I just flashed from Apache14's kernel to kamma's kernel and back, wifi worked every time.
Also keep in mind that you should wait for the Android system to fully boot up before trying to push and apply the modules. So wait for "Usb debugging connected" and "Charge only"
Please give feedback!

Nope, will not push wifi module, all phone settings are as per instructions
Which rom are you on? Do you have HTC Sync 3.0 on your computer?
Try pushing modules manually as per Apache14's thread first post, if it works then the problem is propably in my tool, if it does not work, the problems is at your end.

NOTE: Key files are signed with a Digital Certificate from skipsoft.net but some ‘may’ get picked up as potentially harmful by Antivirus Programs and deleted. They are not harmful, this is a false positive given because of the compiler used. If this happens restore the file and exclude the folder from future scans to use it. This seems to happen mostly on AVG Free and Norton. If you are using the Auto Update feature on pro versions then you will need to disable the AV program or exclude the folder from scans before running the update again.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PUBLIC (FREE) AND PROFESSIONAL (DONATE) VERSIONS?
THE PUBLIC VERSION OF THE TOOLKIT INCLUDES EVERYTHING YOU COULD NEED TO MANIPULATE AND ROOT YOUR DEVICE.
ACTIVATING THE PROFESSIONAL VERSION ADDS THE MOST USEFUL FUNCTION IN THE TOOLKIT, THE ABILITY TO CHECK FOR ‘AUTO UPDATES’ DIRECTLY VIA THE TOOLKIT AND HAVE THEM PUSHED TO YOUR PC RIGHT AWAY AS SOON AS THEY ARE UPLOADED WITHOUT NEEDING TO DOWNLOAD THE WHOLE TOOLKIT EVERY TIME. YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE LATEST VERSION AS SOON AS IT IS MADE AVAILABLE. THIS MEANS SMALLER UPDATES CAN BE SENT OUT MORE FREQUENTLY, SUCH AS ADDING A SINGLE FUNCTION, FIXING A BUG OR ADDING COMPATIBILITY FOR A SINGLE CARRIER. THE SMALLER UPDATES WILL BE COMPILED AND RELEASED TO THE XDA COMMUNITY AS A FULL (PUBLIC) DOWNLOAD VERSION SO PROFESSIONAL VERSIONS ARE ALWAYS UPDATED SOONER.
THE PRO VERSION ALSO ADDS THE ABILITY TO CHECK FOR THE LATEST VERSION OF SUPERUSER AND RECOVERY FILES AND DOWNLOAD THEM DIRECTLY TO THE TOOLKIT.
THE ‘QUICK PICKS’ SECTION[/B] ALLOWS YOU TO PROGRAM UPTO 10 SLOTS WITH TASKS THAT YOU MAY PERFORM ON A REGULAR BASIS OR JUST WANT TO KEEP A SET OF TASKS IN 1 PLACE. THEN JUST SELECT THE SLOT AND IT WILL REMEMBER ALL YOUR SETTINGS FOR THAT TASK AND RUN IT.
PRO USERS CAN ALSO SELECT THE “ANY BUILD” OPTION IN THE BUILD SELECTION SCREEN TO ROOT ANY BUILD AS LONG AS THE VERSION IS SUPPORTED (USEFUL IF YOUR BUILD IS NOT LISTED).
MORE IMPORTANTLY DONATING SHOWS YOUR APPRECIATION AND ALLOWS THE TOOLKIT TO CONTINUE TO EVOLVE AND GROW.
AUTO REPLY LINKS FOR PAYPAL TO GET A CODE INSTANTLY CAN BE FOUND AT http://goo.gl/nyGqv
--------------------------------------------------------------
PLEASE READ THE *HELP* PAGE AT http://www.skipsoft.net/?page_id=1269 OR USE THE INFORMATION SECTION WITHIN THE TOOLKIT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. I HAVE TAKEN A LOT OF TIME TO WRITE IT AND SOMETHING ON THERE SHOULD ANSWER 99% OF PROBLEMS.
--------------------------------------------------------------
1. INSTALLING ADB/FASTBOOT DRIVERS
The first thing you need to do is to install the adb/fastboot drivers. These are needed so that you can unlock your bootloader, root your device and perform other adb/fastboot functions.
THE DRIVERS CAN BE INSTALLED DIRECTLY VIA THE TOOLKIT. OPTION 1 IN THE MAIN MENU.
If drivers are not installed or there is an exclamation mark next to the device:
Plug the device in to a usb cable directly connected to your motherboard.
In the Device Manager a new item, usually called Android 1.0 should pop up in the list.
Right click on the device item then left click on Update Driver Software. Select 'browse my computer' and then 'Let me pick from a list'.
If no adb interface driver appears in the list then untick 'Show compatible hardware' and find the Android or Samsung adb interface driver.
If you cannot find either of these click Have Disk, browse to the Toolkit install folder, drivers folder, click on android_winusb.inf and click Open.
Click OK and select Google ADB Interface.
Make sure you have USB debugging enabled in settings, developer options. In Android 4.2.2 or later you have to enable the developer options screen by going to settings, About on your device and click on Build number at the bottom 7 times until it says You are now a developer. If you have already enabled usb debugging then unplug/replug the usb cable.
On Android 4.2.2 or later when you replug the usb cable after enabling usb debugging for the first time you will get a popup asking you to authenticate your pc. Tick 'Always allow' then click 'ok'.
--------------------------------------------------------------
2. USING SKIPSOFT UNIFIED ANDROID TOOLKIT
When starting the Toolkit you will first be asked which device you want to work with. Working folders will be created and the device files downloaded. You will then be taken to the Model/Build selection screen where you can do a number of things (other than select your model/build): Type '00' to enter your activation code and enable pro features, 'i' will take you to the Information and Help Section, 'a' will give you information on how to add support for a new build.
Supported builds are listed in the Model/Build selection screen and typing the associated number (i.e. 11) will download needed boot and recovery files (stock and custom recovery) then check for and download the latest superuser files available and custom recovery (pro versions only), verify all the files and start the Main Menu. You can now use all the functions and tools the Android Toolkit offers. Pro users can select the "any build" option to root any build (useful if your build is not listed).

**FAQ**
Q. What is ADB Shell?
Adb shell is a linux command line tool (because android is based on linux) used to send commands to your android device. For S-ON devices, this is crucial for modifying files in the /system partition (where the rom sits) as you cannot modify anything in /system when the rom is running without S-OFF (e.g removing system apps).
From Google:
Android Debug Bridge (adb) is a versatile tool lets you manage the state of an emulator instance or Android-powered device. It is a client-server program that includes three components:
A client, which runs on your development machine. You can invoke a client from a shell by issuing an adb command. Other Android tools such as the ADT plugin and DDMS also create adb clients.
A server, which runs as a background process on your development machine. The server manages communication between the client and the adb daemon running on an emulator or device.
A daemon, which runs as a background process on each emulator or device instance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I flashed CWM but each time I reboot the Stock Recovery is back
There is an auto recovery restore system on Android that will reflash the Stock Recovery if you flash CWM on a Stock Rom.
Use Root Explorer to Mount the system folder as R/W (or use a free app from the Market). Delete the file recovery-from-boot.p from /system. Now when you flash CWM Recovery it will NOT be overwritten after a reboot. You can also use the Toolkit to rename the files if you wish.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. What is the difference between Nandroid and Titanium backup?
A NANDROID will backup the whole system including boot, system, data and recovery partitions so you can restore a complete rom and all data and settings.
Essentially Titanium Backup is used to backup apps and associated user data. These could be restored AFTER a full wipe and a new Rom had been flashed on your phone.
The other option now which google added into the new adb command list is the adb backup which is in the ToolKit and can do the same job as Titanium Backup but will store the data on your PC rather than on the phone (where it takes up space and could be deleted).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. When would i perform a nandroid vs a titanium backup?
You would perform a nandroid backup to back up your entire system including boot image and data and system partitions so you can restore your entire system back to that particular point in the future.
You would use Titanium Backup mainly to back up your installed apps and settings so they could be reinstalled easily and quickly on any future roms. You can also choose individual apps to backup or restore on Titanium Backup whereas if you restore your boot partition via CWM Recovery you are stuck with the whole lot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. When I try to open the ToolKit I get a box pop up for a split second and then it goes away. My AntiVirus program says the file may be harmful.
The exe files I compiled are not digitally signed with a Microsoft certificate (as they cost money) so certain AntiVirus programs (mainly Norton and AVG Free) will pick it up as potentially harmful when it is not. They pick up ANY file that doesnt contain a purchased Microsoft certificate in the same way. Restore the deleted file and exclude it from further scans and it will be fine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I donated but where do I get my activation code from?
Donation Codes are sent out manually to your PayPal email address [unless otherwise stated] after a confirmation email from PayPal has been receive. The Code can then be entered in the ToolKit Settings, Activate Donators Features Screen. This will enable The Auto Updates, Quick Picks and Extras Features in the ToolKit. Please be patient when waiting for the Code to be sent as it depends very much on what I am doing and whether I am at my PC when the donation is made. Please do not post in the ToolKit's thread or pm me asking for the activation code as it clogs up the thread and my messages. If you haven't received your code after 24 hours then feel free to email me via the skipsoft.net contact page.
Don't worry that you have been forgotten about, I check all emails personally and will deal with it as soon as I can.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I have Windows 8 and cannot install the drivers
How to Disable Driver Signature Enforcement in Windows 8:
From the Metro Start Screen, open Settings (move your mouse to the bottom-right-corner of the screen and wait for the pop-out bar to appear, then click the Gear icon).
Click ‘More PC Settings’.
Click ‘General’.
Scroll down, and click ‘Restart now’ under ‘Advanced startup’.
Wait a bit.
Click ‘Troubleshoot’.
Click ‘Advanced Options’
Click ‘Windows Startup Settings’
Click Restart.
When your computer restarts, select ‘Disable driver signature enforcement‘ from the list. You can now load your modified driver. Reboot again once the driver is installed and all will be well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I flashed the Stock Firmware Image. Odin flashes the file successfully and the phone reboots but it stays stuck on the samsung logo
If the firmware tar file does not include a userdata image (which most Samsung firmware do not) then your userdata partition will be left from your previous setup. If this is incompatible with the new firmware because of build or something else then your system will freeze on boot up.
This is easily fixable by holding the Volume UP, Home and Power buttons all at the same time for about 10 seconds until the device reboots to the Stock Recovery screen. Use the Volume Down button to scroll down to 'wipe data/factory reset' and press the Home button to select it. Go down to yes to confirm and your userdata partition will be wiped. Your device should now boot fine.

Its a driver problem with Odin.
Try rebooting your phone and pc and use a different usb port. I had that problem in the past and it usually fixed it. Also make sure you dont have samsung kies on your pc as Odin doesnt play nicely with it at all.

As far as I know the gsm and lte lodels are exactly the same hardware so in theory it should work fine. The only difference would be radios. This is what im hoping so I can keep everything under a single Toolkit. Do you have a link to a Note 2 LTE forum so I can check it?
Mark.
I've used these mskip all in one tools for various Android devices and can thoroughly recommend them. Whilst I have already rooted and modded my 7100 I will be downloading this tool and buying him yet another beer!

Thanks Mark! That did the trick.
Just another question, after making a Nandroid backup I end up (on my PC) with a 16 mb folder like on a incremental backup but without the blobs folder.
Don't know why not able to download from MediaFire.
Try to get it later again. Thanks anyway.
Ive used it, works like a charm!!!! Thanks so much mate, i wil be making a donation tomorrow.

Sorry, no links as yet. I'm waiting for the Note 2 LTE to launch here (that's the only model to be launched here) this month, thus I had started to read Note 2 threads to get myself ready. I'll pm you if I find any link useful. So far, from the threads in Xda Note 2, there's no good information on LTE.

How to Root
This was a hard & long trial to get this phone rooted. Though, it's a very simple way found by me and yuweng, thanks bro!
Based on yuweng's tutorial : MT6577 CWMR Root Updated V2[/b]
Download these and follow the tutorial:
ADB.zip - http://www.mediafire.com/?11cbu388oqu8amw
All the Drivers I could find - http://www.mediafire.com/?wfr5fgkxkdau6w4
CWMR Recovery's.zip - http://www.mediafire.com/?2r30o428558h22q
MTK Rom Studio 1.1.77.146.zip - http://www.mediafire.com/?h22puc8kac6axv7
SP Flash Tool v2.1134.00.zip - http://www.mediafire.com/?ob5caeigzc1ga10
SP Flash Tool v3.1224.0.sn85.zip - http://www.mediafire.com/?5u29nf4fp4omw9n
Root_Superuser_3.1.3_Busybox_1.20.2-Update1-signed.zip - http://www.mediafire.com/?fee3e7cta5mg3fp
- Setting up the folders and phone (to make it easy)
1. Create a folder in C:\ called "GooApple"
2. Extract all the ZIP files EXCEPT "Root_Superuser_3.1.3_Busybox_1.20.2-Update1-signed.zip" to "C:\GooApple\" so you have 6 folders in GooApple.
3. And copy "Root_Superuser_3.1.3_Busybox_1.20.2-Update1-signed.zip" to "C:\GooApple\"
4. I prefer doing a factory reset before doing this.
* Factory reset can be found at Settings > General > Privacy > Factory data reset > Reset phone
5.Now enable Unknown sources, USB debugging and Stay Awake.
* Unknown sources can be found at Settings > Store.
* USB debugging and Stay Awake can be found at Settings > Store > Development.
6. Make sure all drivers are installed properly. Some might install when connecting the USB.
7. Turn off your phone and unplug your USB cable from the phone (Let the USB be in your computer/laptop)
- Backup your own recovery (not required but suggested)
8. Open "Flash_tool.exe" from version "3.1224.0.sn85".
9. Click on File > Open Scatter-loading file, then browse to "C:\GooApple\MTK Rom Studio 1.1.77.146" and open "MT6573_Android_scatter.txt".
10. Click on the Read back tab (top). (If there is anything in the list, please Remove it.)
11. Click on Add and double click on the ROM_1.
12. Now type recovery.img at Filename, then browse to "C:\GooApple\MTK Rom Studio 1.1.77.146\SPFT_UPLOAD" and click Save.
13. In the popup, select
* Type: Hex
* Read Method: Read Page Only
* Start Adress: 0x980000
* Length: 0x00500000
And click Ok
This info can be found when loading the Firmware.info in MTK Rom Studio
14. Click on Read back. Now hold the "Volume -" button and insert the USB in your phone. It should say OK at the end.
Now you have a backup of your original recovery.img in case you want to restore it.
- Installing CWM Recovery (REQUIRED FOR ROOTING!!)
14. Go to the CWMR Recovery's folder, then choose if you want the Standard CWM or the Touchscreen CWM and copy the recovery.img included to "C:\GooApple\MTK Rom Studio 1.1.77.146"
* Standard CWM is controlled by Volume up and down. Touchscreen CWM is controlled by both.
15. Open "Flash_tool.exe" from version "2.1134.00".
16. Click on Scatter-loading and browse to "MT6573_Android_scatter.txt" in MTK Rom Studio and open it. (Click OK on the popup)
17. Now make sure everything is unchecked EXCEPT "RECOVERY". (Don't forget that your phone should be turned off and unplugged.)
18. Now click on download and insert your USB cable. It should say OK at the end.
Now you have CWM Recovery installed.
- Rooting the phone
19. Start your phone and connect to USB Storage Mode.
20. Copy "Root_Superuser_3.1.3_Busybox_1.20.2-Update1-signed.zip" to the ROOT of your SDcard. And turn off USB Storage (but keep your USB in)
21. Now boot your phone into recovery mode. There are 2 methods, I prefer method #2 as it's more safe and works most often. (Someone's phone kept vibrating while doing method #1)
* Method #1:
- Shut off your phone (wait untill it vibrates to make sure it's completely off).
- Hold the "Volume +" button and the "Power" button.
- You now are in recovery or your phone keeps vibrating.
* Method #2:
- With your phone on, start "cmd.exe" as administrator on your PC.
- Type "cd C:\GooApple\ADB" (without the "") and press enter.
- Type "adb reboot recovery" (without the "") and press enter again.
- Your phone shall reboot in recovery.
22. In recovery, select "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from sdcard" and select "Root_Superuser_3.1.3_Busybox_1.20.2-Update1-signed.zip". Select "Yes - Install ..."
* Recovery Controls (Standard CWM)
Volume + = UP
Volume - = DOWN
Power = Select
Home = Go to +++++Go Back+++++
23. Once completed, select Go Back, and select wipe data/factory reset.
24. Now select "reboot system now".
And here we go... Your GooApple V5+ is Rooted !
Thanks again yuweng for the support !

How to Increase Internal Memory - INT2EXT method (ROOT required)
"INT2EXT on MT6575 / 77 for the extreme gamers !" for GooApple V5+ thanks to yuweng !
- NOTE: THE PHONE TENDS TO BE SLOWER AS IT HAS TO LOAD FROM THE SDCARD
Based on yuweng's tutorial : http://www.mediafire.com/view/?7zjz4onhos826bk
Download and/or install and extract these:
MiniTool Partition Wizard (Home edition) - http://www.partitionwizard.com/download.html
INT2EXT-mtd.7z (Includes install-recovery.sh) - http://www.mediafire.com/?16psto1xqw4b0s0
Notepad++ (To edit install-recovery.sh) - http://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v6.2.3.html
ES File Explorer File Manager - https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5lc3Ryb25ncy5hbmRyb2lkLnBvcCJd
BACKUP YOUR GOOAPPLE V5+ WITH CWMR
1. First I installed and opened MiniTool Partition Wizard and mounten my SD card (32gb & Class10) with going in USB Storage Mode.
2. In MiniTool Partition Wizard, I selected my drive and resized it from 29gb to 26gb (FAT32).
3. Then I selected the remaining 2.5-3gb and created a new partition : Primary , Ext4 , 4kb. Don't forget to click Apply at the top left.
4. Then I extracted INT2EXT-mtd.7z and installed Notepad++.
5. With Notepad++ , I opened install-recovery.sh and changed unbind to bind in lines 61, 66, 71 and 98. Then saved it.
6. Now I copied the EDITED install-recovery.sh to the root of my /sdcard/ (Location when you open your phone).
7. Having ES File Explorer File Manager (EFEFM) installed, give it Root acces via the Settings at the bottom (check everything at root settings).
8. Next, select install-recovery.sh in EFEFM and copy it to /system/etc/ and give it full read/write/execute acces.
9. After this is done reboot your phone. For me, after the first boot it just shutted off. So then I had to power it on again and I had 2.6gb internal memory.
Hooooorah ! :good:
Thanks again yuweng for the files, info, tutorials and time !

Tips&Info
- Make 3 backups of your phone through CWM Recovery because some might get corrupt.
- Use Titanium Backup Pro or a similar tool to remove unused/chinese system apps.
- The MTK6575 can be compared to the PowerVR processor. So the PowerVR games work on the GooApple V5+.

Change BUILD.PROP for more compatibility of Apps&Games
Your phone is being recognized as a Android Alps phone which a lot of apps don't even recognize.
So the best thing you can do is change your "build.prop" a little to increase the compatibility.
For example, yesterday I bought N.O.V.A. 2 which says it's not compatible (but it is).
1. Open Root Explorer or something similar.
2. Go into /system/ folder. Make sure the folder is R/W.
3. Press and hold on build.prop then select "Open in Text Editor".
4. Next, change the following.
- ro.product.model=GT-I9000
- ro.product.brand=samsung
- ro.product.name=GT-I9000
- ro.product.device=GT-I9000
- ro.product.board=GT-I9000
- ro.product.manufacturer=samsung
5. Then go back and it will ask you to save it. Save it.
6. Now reboot your phone and try again with more compatibility !

I really want to thank the following people:
yuweng - Always helping me out with troubles.
bigrammy - Giving me the tip to use an older version for doing a Download in SPFT.
The phone can be bought at Android-Sale.com
What I wish to do with this phone and might need help for:
ROM (standard and v5+4s_a116_ios_root_12.11.16_Launcher)
- Get GPS to work on my phone. (Still don't know if it's just me or the phone.)
- Change the USB Storage Mode image to something like the iPhone by editing Framework-res.apk.
- Increase Internal memory by taking System's memory.
ROM (v5+4s_a116_ios_root_12.11.16_Launcher only)
- Remove all the chinese icons in "Google Pinyin IME" keyboard and add AZERTY for Belgium and France.
GooApple V5+ Manual
Thanks to "Q" for looking up this valuable information !
How to take a screenshot:
Tap both the "Home"-button and "Power"-button simultaneous. If you have sounds activated, you'll hear a shutter sound.
How to force restart:
Deep at the bottom of the 3.5 headphone jack there is a restart-button. Use a small tool like a bent paperclip or toothpick to reach it.
You can use this restart-button if your phone freezes and can not be restarted using the normal power-button.
THIS IS A LIFESAVER !
Recovery-menu explained:
The Recovery-menu is a boot-menu that can be used to backup, restore, clean cache or change ROMs in your GooApple phone.
This menu can be either in English or Chinese and may vary slightly depending on what type of Recovery came pre-installed on your phone.
You can install a different Recovery-menu on your phone like CMWR / TWPR
To access the Recovery-menu:
- Turn off your phone.
- Press and hold the PLUS-button and POWER-button on your phone until you arrive at the recovery menu.
NOTE: Depending on ROM and Recovery-version, you may actually need to press MINUS-button and POWER-button to access the Recovery-menu
Factory-test-menu:
This can be used to test the hardware functionality of your phone.
To access the Factory-test-menu:
-Turn off your phone.
-Press and hold the PLUS-button and POWER-button on your phone then lose it and hold it again after the vibration.
NOTE: It doesn't always work so you really need the perfect timing.
Navigating the user-interface:
This menu you can close running apps on the background so pretty usefull sometimes.
- Double-tap the "Home"-button shows running/standby apps and possibility to close apps by long-pressing icons in deployed menu.
- Double-tap the "Home"-button at the unlock-screen will show you the music player and a button to quickly acces the camera.
- Hold the "Home"-button to acces Wallpaper and Settings faster.
- Pressing the "+"-button when using the camera will take a picture.
NOTE: Double tapping must have some kind of pace in pressing these 2. If you do it too fast, ut doesn't work.. but too slow, it doesnt work either, so it has to be right.
- "Long-pressing" an icon in the menu makes the icons jiggly so you can change the position of your icons by dragging them to a desired position or on another icon to create a folder.
- "Long-pressing" the MINUS-button can bring up a menu in some applications. - UNCONFIRMED
Trouble hanging up a phone-call?
- Holding the phone vertically during a call turns off the screen (if the light-sensor has been covered).
- Holding the phone horizontally for a few seconds, will turn the screen on again and display the "End call"-button.
NOTE: Make sure you never double-tap the "Home"-button during a call. It will minimize the calling session so you will still be calling in the background. So make sure you always press the "End call"-button.
Change user interface language
If you cleared user data when installing a new ROM, the phone is likely to boot up in Chinese. Follow these steps to change it back to English:
- Press the Settings-button (you can probably identify this by its icon).
- Select the 9th option (General)
- Select the 8th option (International)
- Select the 1st option (Select language)
- Select your language.
NOTE: If you want some influence of your native language, you can install MoreLocale2 from GooglePlayStore. Some apps will be in your native language.
How to change the IMEI-number:
To change the IMEI number, you most likely will have to use MTKdroidTools from MediaFire.com.
It has an option to change the IMEI number but for this, you will need:
- the ADB drivers to be installed.
- A new IMEI number with what you want to change the original one.
- Phone connected to your computer.
How to add more Ring, SMS, Notification - sounds on your GooApple:
- Connect the phone to a computer in USB Storage Mode.
- Create the following folders on your SD-card:
- Ringtones
- Alarms
- Notifications
- Move your own sounds into the appropriate folder.
- Adjust the sounds-settings on your phone here:
- Ring-tone: Settings>Audo profiles>General>Voice call ringtone
- SMS-tone: Settings>Auido profiles>General>Notification ringtone
- Alarm-tone: Enter your Clock-app and add a new alarm and you should be presented with ringtone-options.
How to remove the backcover and change the MicroSD:
You might want to remove the backcover to change the MicroSD card or maybe even to change the cover.
To remove the cover:
- Unscrew the 2 screws at the bottom of your phone. You need a special screwdriver for this.
- Slide the back cover up once the screws are removed.
To change the MicroSD:
- Having the cover removed, you will see the SD card to the left of the battery trapped in some aluminium cover.
- Slide the aluminium cover to the left and now you can remove the SD card.
To put the cover back on:
- Put the cover back in its place, then drag it down (instead of up to remove it).
- Put the 2 screws back

And can anyone with a GooApple V5+ please try this to fix the GPS signal?
1. Charge your phone completely (100%)
2. Download and install Mobileuncle MTK Tools from Google Play.
3. Go to Settings > Location Services and turn off everything here. Also turn off WiFi.
4. Now turn off your phone. Then turn it back on and enable WiFi.
5. At Settings > Location Services
- Enable : Use wireless networks.
- Enable : Use GPS satellites
- Enable : GPS EPO assistance -> Go into EPO Settings and check the EPO file info if it's downloaded, if not, make sure you're connected to the internet and uncheck/recheck Auto Download.
- Enable : A-GPS
6. Open Start Mobileuncle MTK Tools and go to Information and click on Full , then Cold and go back to Satellites.
7. Go outside/window/balcony and after a while, the red dots should become green.
Source: peterssson
They say it works for MTK 657x models but it doesn't work for me. I keep getting red dots instead of green.
Drivers
Hi,
My Gooapple V5+ arrived.
I'm quite lost since no manual inside and this is my first android.
Regarding the rooting issue, I first decided install drivers. As I read, the process is connecting USB to PC and wait for Windows to ask something and then navigate to MT6575 USB VCOM drivers forder.
However, Win7 recognized V5+ as an Android device and installed some drivers, including "My HTC" (?)(!)
Now I can access SD card and maybe something else (I have no idea what) but I can't connect to internet through USB
The big quiestion now for me, in order to root the phone, is how to install drivers properly, bcos we have:
drivers preloader MT65xx
Android ADB Interface
MT6575 USB VCOM drivers
usb_driver
usb_driver_MT65xx_Android_ZTE_v821
I have a Win7 x64 laptop
About the GPS, I have just attempt fix my possition with "MAPS", but despite I downloaded some file, I can't fix possition bcos I'm indoors now.
Thanks for any comments
I'm not sure how the USB thetering works but I'll look into it.
About the drivers. I do it like this: plug it in, then choose the DRIVERS folder and let it choose automaticly.
Android device is correct, but I haven't seen the HTC one though, I'd recommend uninstalling that one.
But really , it can do a lot if you just plug it in, let it search the driver automaticly (don't select any specific folder, just DRIVERS if you really need to).
Also the VCOM driver is more for when you're about to flash your recovery through SPFT which it will install automaticly.
If you need any "personal" help on rooting it, feel free to ask, I'll support you via skype/facebook/teamviewer.
And I too am using Win7 64bit
It seems that Win7 installs a Google pack of USB drivers when detects Android devices.
Maybe this one I found:
softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/Google/Google-USB-Driver-Revision4.
And bcos GooApple is not in the list, Win7 chooses HTC that has 6575 chip aswell.
I will try to uninstall "My HTC" but Windows prefer this to any in the DRIVERS folder, perhaps is more up-to-date.
Any way, automatic driver download/installing maybe problematic with this phone.
Thanks a lot for support. I will need some days to become familiar with the phone before the next level
Thank you, is a very useful guide ! :good:

Ehm it shouldn't say GooApple V5+ in device manager.
For me it says Android Phone > Android ADB Interface and when I turn on USB storage, I just get Portable Devices: G:\.
So yeah, strange it uses HTC. And sorry that I cannot explain properly how to install the drivers because I just installed a few drivers , uninstalled some and installed some other and it worked.
But the most important thing is that the VCOM driver is installed. Which will automaticly install once you try the *Read Back* method. OR this might work too:
Turn off your phone. Plugin the USB cable in your computer but not in the phone (yet).
Now hold the Volume + button and then insert the USB cable into your phone. I think now, it should install the VCOM drivers automaticly.
And no problem Anhuc ! I haven't had time to test some things as I'm in a period of getting a job for the rest of my life
Drivers Problem Fixed!!
Well, for some reason my V5+ only accept VCOM driver if press "+" when plug-in USB in phone OFF, as you suggested.
If connect USB to PC with phone "ON" it ONLY accepts Android ADB Composite Interface, as you said.
So thanks everybody for suggestions and comments. I thing the first challenge overcome :good:
PS:
About the HTC driver I had first, maybe it was bcos I had MOBILE-EDIT software, wich installs many drivers, so I had to remove it from ControlPanel/Pograms/Unistall
But after it, connected phone to PC and it installed automatically "My HTC" driver again
So removed driver from DeviceManager and also removed Google Android USB Package from PC execiting "pnputil.exe -e" in command prompt, to see the OEM# of package, then removed with "pnputil.exe -d Oem#.inf"
Seems extrange but works great. (see details here: technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730875.aspx)
I have taken some screen shots of this in case someone need.
Hope may help people with persistent drivers....

Good to hear that Q and thanks for sharing the information on what was causing it !
It can always help someone else out who has the same issue.
Anyways, I guess you can get to the part of flashing the phone with CMWR right?
I suggest jus reading the first part of the Rooting untill installing CMW and start there as thats the basic thing you need to do as the files I uploaded already include the patched recovery.img.
To see some pictures, check this out : http://www.mediafire.com/view/?8mxvy0ey5yfdu59 page 16 thats basicly how to Download recovery.img to your phone. But always follow my tutorial or ask me to do it for you
GPS without signal
Yes, I downloaded averything from v5+ tutorial and carefully read and understood this excellent work.
However, manage GPS to work is my priority now.
Is there any light in the dark?
I tried and tried, downloaded EPO files, used MTK Tools and even installed an iGo My Way version compatible with Retina screen.
One hour in the field and only saw a little signal bar of one satellite (if it was a satellite) but no points (red or green) at all in MTK Tools.
Have someone seen at least a single pretty point in the grid?
Thanks for any help.

Ooh thanks for helping out.
I do get red dots yeah but they don't turn green :/
Things you could try is
Download GPS Status & Toolbox : Launch GPS Status & Toolbox. You'll see a compass and some other stats. Hit the menu button for more options.
Make sure you have an active data connection and go to "Manage A-GPS State". Then, tap the "Download" button in the menu that pops up. When it's done, exit the app.
And another thing that made me come closer was changing the gps.conf but I dont remember what tool to use. You can do it manually though. (It's located in system/etc)

Not a big problem, but after it I tried a second backup after factory settings restore and this time when plug USB on phone while pressing "-" nothing happens. PC do nothing (not installing drivers as before) and flash_tool can't finish the last part of procedure.
I even used differnt cable but nothing. USB parameters are as suggested....
Please help!

Nothing worked to make it responding to USB...
Cables ok, config of USB ok too....
Decided opening phone and release power from battery cables.
I have never did it before but succeed on it
Now repeated opperation and made a successful backup in factory settings
Again I had to reset from 3.5mm jack
All ok, no problems (perhaps battery icon, but not sure)
Will continue rooting later

[Kernel] EFIDROID - Ultimate preboot enviroment! - Multiboot / Fastboot / UEFI

updated4/4/2017 (Still does not work on stock 5.0) - Removed due to it still not booting stock 5.0, and ALSO now breaks booting unpatched.
twrp 3.1 is broken
twrp 2.7 is broken
twrp 3.0.1 works
some/most custom roms work
Most official/stock do not.

assumes root and bootloader unlocked
For now "efidroid" on playstore is not configured for our device, so we will do this using our own server:
Download "EFIDROID" from the playstore
Download "TerminalEmulator" from the playstore (or use adb shell)
Download "SimpleHTTPServer" from the playstore
NEW UNTESTED - Removed
OLD Download EFIDROID_SERVER_FILES from View attachment EFIDROID_SERVER_FILES.zip
Open and extract the "device" and "ota" folder to the INTERNAL storage of your phone
Open SimpleHTTPServer (do not change default settings)
Open Terminal Emulator and enter: (make sure you didn't forget any spaces)
su
setprop efidroid.server_url "http://localhost:12345"
Now open efidroid, it should automatically connect. Now press the menu key in the top left corner and press install, then press the big install button.
Now create your slot, and reboot.
Use the vol +/- to navigate up or down, use the power button to select an option
Long press power button on internal rom/recovery to boot without efidroid
Reinstalling/Updating:
Download the new OTAPACKAGE file and extract to INTERNALSD, replace old device/ota folders
Clear EFIDROIDMANAGER cache/data
Run the SETPROP command (don't forget su)
Turn on SimpleHTTPserver
Open efidroid and click uninstall, and then click install (Or click reinstall)
MAKE SURE YOUR BUILD DATE NOW MATCHES THE UPDATED BUILD DATE
Uninstall:
if you hit the uninstall button, the app copies the contents of the UEFIESP back to the real partitions and deletes the partition_*.img files. It does not delete the UEFIESP directory or any of the multiboot directories because they may contain other important files.
flashing boot+recovery outside of EFIDroid's control(e.g. using stock's fastboot/odin flash, or using unpatched boot) is pretty much the same as uninstalling efidroid without deleting the partition_*img files.
All that means that you don't have to worry about any of that if you restores your boot+recovery partitions(either through the app or manually). If you want to free up some space you can delete the UEFIESP directory using a root file manager.
Bugs/Issues:
REPORT ERRORS/BUG ON GITHUB

Download twrp (get the md5/tar version for odin)
Turn off phone (pull battery)
boot to download mode by holding vol down and home and power
Start up odin and press the AP button and browse for the TWRP file. Press start to flash.
Reboot phone into twrp recovery (vol up + home + power), and restore your boot/recovery partitions.

Works on N9005 LTE ?
It looks pretty cool but I've got limited knowledge. My N9005 is on phronesis rom v4.1, IdleKernel v6.6.5 and all partitions converted to F2FS, will it work on this format as well :/
As long as it is a note 3 on msm8974 (sorry exynos) it should work.
File system support should be trivial. I used that same FS myself
Is this an actual GRUB loader for android?
If so am ashuming this means it's possible for UNIX install
i.e. Arch Linux as OS.......
Hmmm.... Windows RT on Note 3... ^^
What about ACPI? We might need this for WinRT

Fake ¿ ???
Only what i see its a bootanimation, in the Video from a "older and other"
The OP account is suspended so I guess something fishy is going on.
Guess we will wait and see
oh come on now. I got suspended for being rude to a well respected member of xda. And its not fake... Really? Anyways... I took my ban as a break and just started back with m1cha on getting the uefi part to work with the screen.
A few pointers: You still need devs to port each os, like windows, true linux ect.
This is just a multiboot. So many devices lack that, some had safestrap, or kexec ect, but all those methods had quirks or special rules, or depended on android. This loads before even the kernel.
Also, it will have many tools that a typical recovery has, so you may not even need to reboot into recovery to setup partitions, also aroma was ported, so maybe even installing roms/kernels too.
Also, there will be an efidroid server "store" where you can get tools and apps to run in efidroid. So devs can extend functionality. Also there will be an android installer to make everything easier.
Just think of this as a pimped out safestrap.

as far as my knowledge is concerned, Master @darkera13 is kinda expert you're looking for...I don't personally know him or his skills but people around note 3 forums praise his work very much
Is this Note 3 specific?
This is kinda an off topic question, but, just a few days ago i wanted to try Remix OS out in my PC, but noticed that there is no direct EFI support...just thinking if this thread would be any benefit for PC UEFI users trying to boot Android x86 directly through efi file.
sorry for the question, might be my knowledge limitation on the field...
Using a x64 cpu and grub or refind you can boot RemixOS, they have a uefi image on their site. (Thats what they said) Basically you really don't need efidroid for this, as it would only make it more complicated.
grub is exactly my problem...
thanks a lot for clarifying

[Root] H901 - For Newbies!

None of the methods in this thread are my own work. I struggled with getting my phone rooted for a long time and spend 10s of hours on the process. I had never rooted before and was therefore unfamiliar with all the terms, unfamiliar with how to complete all the recommended checks to ensure one had the right model, etc. There were several helpful threads but most approach the subject with the assumption that one knows something about the process. In this post I lay out what worked for me in a step-by-step way and what you have to do to achieve my results.
#1 Ensure you have a H-901 motherboard and not the Korean F600 motherboard by checking the sticker, and checking “About Phone” -> “Hardware Info” -> “Model number” in settings. These must both be LG-H901…from what I can tell the community has only developed technique for the H-901 variant.
#2 Get a micro SD card and load it with Magisk https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445 , and if you have Marshmallow or Lollipop and want Nougat (much better experience IMHO), load the files in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/development/h901-t-mobile-nougat-v30b-twrp-t3639203 And maybe this thread as well (read both and then decide): https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm.../h901-t-mobile-nougat-v30c-flashable-t3744648
#3 Ensure you have unlocked your bootloader. (apparently only for T-mobile LG v10s since other carriers lock the bootloader) The FWUL virtual machine root method will not work if you have not done so. This is an entire process in itself. The following 2 videos which show how to root android 6.0 or earlier (process will not work with Nougat, 7.0, since some fastboot commands are missing). https://youtu.be/OtXlokk6JkQ , https://youtu.be/PPLwFGxLQA4
Also, this thread may be helpful. https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...t-mobile-bootloader-factory-unlocked-t3236224 , download the nexus root toolkit here for easy ADB command entry http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/ —we will only use the “Advanced Utilities” -> ”Manual Input” -> ”Launch CMD Prompt”. When it prompts you to select a phone, select the first option and then for android version select Android *** Any. Don’t use any of the other commands because they are not configured for your device.
If you get a “waiting for device” error while attempting the fastboot oem unlock command in the above thread, see: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/help/fastboot-waiting-device-t3489789 Great video which shows how to change drivers. You will need to do this, I found a number of drivers that were already on my PC from google and Samsung worked although I didn’t have the specific one mentioned in the above thread. Don’t be afraid to experiment… you can always try another driver. And don’t require it to be hardware compatible. Ignore the warning message: https://youtu.be/nQjg6ePnGAc

NOW that you have your bootloader unlocked you can proceed to actually flash the TWRP image as per this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/general/root-h901-nougat-t3773942
Notes before beginning:
-To enter download mode to begin: Plug a USB cable into your phone with your phone powered off, hold down on the Vol Up button and plug the USB cord into your computer. It should immediately boot into download mode. Exiting Download mode after flash: pull battery…no damage will be done.
-To enter recovery after flashing TWRP: power off the phone then hold both the down volume and power at the same time. When you see the black LG screen briefly release the power button and then press it again while not letting the volume down up. You will see a screen asking if you want to delete all user settings. Say YES (via the volume and power keys—no touch input). You will see a screen asking if you want to delete all user data. Say YES (the data is only deleted if TWRP loads successfully) You will briefly see the black LG bootup screen. TWRP or factory recovery will load. Or if you did not unlock your bootloader, it will say recovery is corrupted and cannot be trusted, and then boot normally without changing your settings or deleting files.
-Additional note: as of 7-23-18 some commands had changed:
From V20 forum, Brian (runningnak3d) has moved to gitlab.com. So instead of github.com, we have to use a new git repository that Brian created in gitlab.com.
cd
mv lglaf lglaf_BAK
git clone https://gitlab.com/runningnak3d/lglaf
cd lglaf
git pull
git checkout v10-miscwrte
There are additional comments in the thread. Some timeout errors may be solved by: 1 - Download the VirtualBox extension pack: https://download.virtualbox.org/vir..._VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-5.2.8.vbox-extpack
2 - Go to File / Preferences / Extensions / click the + and browse to where you downloaded it.
3 - Once installed, with the VM off, right click on the VM, and go to settings. Click on USB, and pick USB 3.0. If your machine doesn't have a USB 3 port, pick 2.0.
But frankly, simply up arrow after a timeout error to load the last command on the command line and hit enter again. Simply keep doing this until it works. You know it works because no dialog appears for several minutes before informing one of success.
**Upgrade to Nougat after Flashing TWRP and booting to Recovery steps: (I did a full wipe as suggested by this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/h918-recowvery-unlock-v20-root-shell-t3490594 before flashing the v30b upgrade then full Nougat zip, and then flashing Magisk. I flashed the 3 zips sequentially. I was afraid Nougat would not boot successfully because the zip files are less than 2 gb combined but success! You may want to also flash the 30c upgrade before flashing Magisk for a total of 4 zip flashes. I did not try this. However doing all this means no backups are done so if there is a problem you may have to flash a KDZ with the LG UP tool (don’t ask me how).
As a final note, I cannot answer specific questions about the various processes provided or errors you may encounter that I have not listed in this write up since I have not experienced them. A bit of research on your part may be required, but this post should provide you with a huge head start compared to where I started. Good luck!
Methods to get unlimited mobile hotspot, very useful if you're on the $50 MetroPCs (owned by T-mobile) unlimited plan. All you $70 T-mobile plan suckazzz! https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...ited-tetherting-hotspot-t3825144#post77249285
I would actually recommend using a USB tether client and forgoing root access if tethering is your only objective and you are trying to be efficient with your time. However, with root you can install all these cool apps!: https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/best-android-root-apps/
The following caught my eye:
-Rec: screen record
-liveboot: boot animation (does not work with Magisk)
-Servicely: checks to see which apps are using a lot of battery and lets you suppress them
-Adblock Plus
-Titanium backup: very powerful phone backup application & bloatware remover look into for quickly switching over to a different lg v10
-Greenify: put apps into hibernation
-System tuner: get lots of info about you phone but be careful making changes
-ES file explorer: dig into the android system
-Disk digger: recovers deleted files (photos only?)
