Possible Bug : Colossus ROM - Micromax Canvas Magnus A117

This being my first post in XDA forum. Since I do not have requisite permission to post replies in a Development thread (which sounds weird and annoying), I am creating a thread here.
I am qualifying this observation as a bug. COLOSSUS ROM by CMahendra for A117 has been the best of the lots so far amongst all the ROMs that I tested. One glitch though which I find pertinent - preferred 3G Service operator under SIM management does not work in conjunction with say, Juice Defender. This worked great in Pure Xperia Z2 (Xperia C port) ROM and Stock ROM.
Say my first sim is Vodafone and second is Airtel. I have set Preferred 3G service to use Airtel and Vodafone being default SIM for Call and messaging.
Now initially when I enable Data and select Airtel from the list of option (Vodafone/ Airtel / None), data is indeed enabled for Airtel. Later when Juice Defender turns off data to conserve power and again re-enables when I need it, it always enabled data on first SIM. So essentially SIM management's 3G Service does not override the defaults.

I can see that because of your post count you both can't reply in development thread so you people posted here. But still posting here may or may not get attention from the dev so type there XDA username with @ at the beginning so they will get the notification.

First is juice defender is a bit too old app no more updates since its final released. Data connection in COLOSSUS is working perfectly in both SIM cards even when you restart you phone 3G preferred is still set to the SIM you prefer. I don't think what you are reporting is a ROM bug. I usually use battery doctor which also has auto turn off data when battery is a bit low depends on what level you will set it. But when it re-enables data when I need it, its still in my preferred 3G service that I set.

Try to isolate the problem first by replacing both sim cards and try to set network mode from 2G to 3G or vice versa

I have been doing that, the changing of sim cards. From globe to smart, then smart to globe, sometimes i put in sun. When I turn on the 3G, the signal auto-X itself, then I tried just using 2G and yeah, the data connection works with 2G, but then I turn the 3G on again, and its gone. I tried using Yonip V7 yesterday to see if my 3G can work bec a tech in the fb group told me so, after doing so, my 3G did work. But man, I wanted COLLOSUS.

Im back with colossus. Cant use my 3G though. hehe Tried flashing the a919i baseband, still the same.

[APP][2.0+] Toggle2G (Tasker/LTE/Rootless) [v0.3.5 / 1/13/2013]

I've made a java application to take "any" flashable ROM zip and resign the zip and inject Toggle2G into it. Check the downloads for ResignUpdate.zip. Check the readme-first.txt in the zip for more information. Works with Windows/OSX/Linux with java installed
Here is a little app I've started working on that enables the 2G Only setting automatically when the phone is asleep to save battery.
As always with these kinds of things, I am not responsible if something goes wrong, so use at your own risk.
Working on Android versions since 2.1. I'm using it on my Nexus 4.
Installation:
The flashable Toggle2G-Update.zip is designed to work with CyanogenMod based ROMs. There is no need to resign any CyanogenMod ROMs.
The easiest way to see if Toggle2G works on your ROM is flash the Toggle2G-Update.zip from the recovery. If your ROM is compatible, Toggle2G will show up in your app drawer.
ONLY IF THAT DOES NOT WORK, then you can try the ResignUpdate java application to convert your ROM. ROMs must be in zip form and be flashable through a recovery like CWM or TWRP. Download the ResignUpdate.zip and read the included readme-first.txt file. Once you resigned your ROM, you then wipe and flash the resigned ROM.
See the troubleshooting section below if you have trouble.
ResignUpdate Change Log:
v3.0.1 - Don't close out of the GUI on certain errors
v3.0.0 - Automatic SecPhone.apk and SecSettings.apk detection | Running ResignUpdate.bat/sh without any parameters pops up a GUI so you can pick the ROM.zip file (Should help with path issues). You can still use the command line options if you want and it will bypass the GUI.
v2.1.3 - Update Toggle2G.apk to v0.2.0.
v2.1.2 - Overrides ROM's Toggle2G.apk when injecting.
v2.1.1 - Bug fix during Toggle2G.apk injection.
v2.1.0 - ZipAlign resigned files.
v2.0.4 - It seems keys need to be physical files..fixed
v2.0.3 - Don't fail on unreadable apks. Sign resigned zip. Move injection files into ResignUpdate.jar so no path issues.
v2.0.2 - Better detection of RSA file in an APK. Some additional optional parameters to help with any fringe cases that might come up
v2.0.1 - Don't change apk's storage method when processing it
v2.0.0 - Initial Release
Toggle 2G Change Log:
Always reboot after an update!
v0.3.5 Added option to always switch to 3G. This is if you want 3G except when on wifi or data off or low battery. / Fixed Spanish translation crashing Toggle 2G. / Start to refer to networks as fast/slow. This is because users might want to toggle from LTE to 3G.
v0.3.4 Fixed bug that was switching back to 3G
v0.3.3 Enable data in auto swich mode will reactive 3G
v0.3.2 Fix retry of network change when data off setting is used
v0.3.1 Fix bug when toggling data that was preventing the Manual Notifications from working.
v0.3.0 Added LTE networks and removed the need for ROOT (You will need to re-setup Toggle2G after upgrade)
v0.2.4 New icons from LeopardSurd. Show version number at top of Toggle 2G settings screen.
v0.2.3 Try for 5 seconds to get network to switch after data turning off data. I hope this helps with switching on phone like the Galaxy S II; German translation thanks to Aiakio; Italian translation thanks to krinet
v0.2.2 Fixed bug where sometimes network would switch to the same network causing data to disable then enable
v0.2.1 Fix some issues with not switching.
v0.2.0 Option to wait for phone unlock before switching to 3G; Option to turn data off to switch networks; Option to switch to 2g when data is off; French translation thanks to mooondark
v0.0.20 Set SDK to v8 to fix compatibility with CM6
v0.0.19 Updated German using the translation from Aiakio.
v0.0.18 Added translations by muchopoli83. (Danish, German, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Chinese)
v0.0.17 Tweaked chmod on preferences folder
v0.0.16 Switch to 2g when data is disabled. Better fix for bug where settings are not surviving a reboot.
v0.0.15 Fix bug where settings are not surviving a reboot (I hope). New icon from hawkeyexp, thanks!v0.0.14 2G when sleep on/off option, 2G Notification fixes/options, Options reworked
v0.0.13 Option to not switch to 2G if network is being used. Default threshold of 2 KBps means 2G will not enable if >= 2 KBps is being used. Threshold is configurable in settings
v0.0.12 You can pick a specific network through the Tasker/Local plug-in (not just 2G or 3G) / Battery feature can be turned off / Disable options only applicable to auto manage when its off
v0.0.11 Delay switching to 2G when wifi is turned on to prevent network outage during transition. Also added option to off the feature that switches to 2G when using wifi.
v0.0.10 Fix bug that was not changing auto manage
v0.0.8 Customizable network selections for 2G and 3G modes.
v0.0.7 Added home widget. The Toggle 2G plug-in app is needed to use the widget.
v0.0.6 Option to allow user to choose when to switch back to 3G using the notification bar. Requires a separate plug-in app attached here or from the market
v0.0.5 more fixes to try and prevent switching when phone rings and phone wakes up
v0.0.3 fix issues with disconnecting incoming call
v0.0.2 adds Tasker/Locale plugin support!
Automatic Mode Features:
Switch to 2G when wifi is connected.
Switch to 2G when data is turned off.
If screen is off for more that 10 minutes (configurable in the app) it will switch to 2G
If screen is off and battery is below 30% (configurable in the app) it will switch to 2G
Network usage monitoring to prevent switching to 2G if network is being used.
3G can be re-enabled as soon as the screen is turned on or unlocked or it can be done manually
Option to Disable data before switching network. (Required on some phones/ROMs)
Option for manual switching back to 3G. This setting allows user to choose when to switch back to 3G by selecting a notification in the notification bar. Requires separate app located on market or use link below
Notes:
Runs in the com.android.phone process to gain access to the 2G Only setting.
Shares process with system so installing will list pretty much all of the permissions
Uses root access to save preferences, seems running in the com.android.phone process can causes some problems with creating a preferences folder to hold the preferences file. Root access is needed to save preferences. I have a new system for saving preferences that does not need root. However, as a backup, if Toggle2G fails to use the new system it will fall back to this old system and use Root, (I didn't want to break it for phones I can't test on)
Does not change network while in a call. Otherwise the call will drop because the radio resets. (Even if Tasker/Locale tells it to)
Changing network can be slow. You may have to wait a second for 3G to reactivate. I suggest using the manual switch to 3G option and plugin if this is the case.
Due to issues with how Toggle 2G uses a shared user id, I've implemented the notifications and home widget under a separate app.
3 settings for the Tasker/Locale plugin and home screen widget. Automatic, 2G , or 3G (Setting 2G or 3G disables auto mode)
ToDo:
Don't switch to 2g while tethering
disable the 3g when the reception is between ___ and ___ to keep it from flip-flopping. (Can't be done, you can't monitor 3G reception levels while in 2G)
Use g sensors to detect movement and reactivate 3G to lower radio down time after unlocking phone (Monitoring these sensors would drain battery and defeat the purpose)
If you think of a feature or find a bug, let me know.
Also, I've attached a values.zip file so that everyone can contribute to translating Toggle2G to other languages.
I'm a code junkie, please support my habit

TROUBLESHOOTING
* Make sure you have Java 6 or higher installed
* I get an "Failed to find any apk with a key" error when signing my ROM
If you get this error it means that ResignUpdate tool could not find one of these files in the ROM's zip file:
system/app/phone.apk
system/app/settings.apk
system/app/SecPhone.apk
system/app/SecSettings.apk
At lease one of these files is needed to identify what in the ROM needs to be resigned. You can open the ROM's zip file and try and find where one of these files are. If you find it in a folder other than system/app you can specify one of these files in the -keyapk parameter when running ResignRom. For example, if you find that the SecPhone.apk is actually in the preload/symlink/system/app folder, then put preload/symlink/system/app/SecPhone.apk in the -keyapk parameter.

OK, so here is a little app I've started working on that enables the 2G Only setting automatically when the phone is asleep to save battery. It's not polished at this point, just trying out the features and come up with more to add.
** REQUIRES CyanogenMod 6 **
Notes:
Signed using the CM6 platform.x509.pem so not sure what other ROMs it will work with.
Runs in the com.android.phone process to gain access to the 2G Only setting.
Uses root access to save preferences, seems running in the com.android.phone process can causes some problems with creating a preferences folder to hold the preferences file. Root access does a mkdir to make the preferences folder and that is all.
Does not change the 2G Only flag while in a call. Otherwise the call will drop because the radio resets
Changing the 2G Only flag can be slow. You may have to wait a second for 3G when turning the screen on after it has switched to 2G while the phone was asleep
Features:
It doesn't bother switching to 2G if phone is plugged in
It doesn't bother switching to 2G until wifi disconnects
If screen is off for more that 10 minutes, it will enable 2G Only setting
If screen is off and battery is below 30% (configurable in the app) enable 2G Only setting
3G is re-enabled as soon as the screen is turned on unless battery is below configured percentage
Install the apk then reboot the phone.
After reboot, run the Toggle2G app to enable the service and configure the low battery %
ToDo:
Widget to switch between Auto, 3G and 2G.
If you think of a feature or find a bug, let me know.
Enjoy!

Testing now anyway. Will let you know if it works. Widget would be awesome to switch from 2g to 3g to auto
I agree, a widget would be amazing! Also a adjustable timer for when the screen goes off.
Sweet! Something I've dreamed about
Locale plugin would be utterly awesome. If i could make this thing autoset 2G when i go to bed or whatever other conditions i choose, that'd make this thing complete.

Unless I'm wrong, it doesn't appear that the 2G/3G radio is on when wifi is on, so it doesn't bother switching it from 3G to 2G because it resets the radio and I didn't want it to do that if it didn't matter. So basically, when wifi is on and connected, it never switches to 2G when the phone is asleep until wifi finally disconnects.
Adjustable timer is next and the Locale plugin is a great idea.
hmm this could be a very useful app 10 minutes is a while to wait and see if it works

Sorry, didn't realize that I removed it. I've uploaded a new version that has a configurable time and an option to still enable 2G when the phone is powered (Allows me to debug with the USB cable plugged in)
It would be awesome if you could add a db value threshold as well.
BTW, I'm convinced this same method is used on iphone 4 to get the battery life it does.
cool, will this be open sourced ?
OK, I've updated on more time.
Fixed a bug where sometimes the service wasn't getting any CPU so it wouldn't set to 2G in a timely manner. Should be responsive now. Note that setting to 1 minute could mean it can take 1 minute 59 seconds to switch to 2G

In a low reception area the phone tends to switch back and forth between 3g/2g. I think somewhere around 104.
So basically disable the 3g when the reception is between ___ and ___.

[Q] Enable Tethering Tmobile One S

I just got the One S, I'm trying to use the tethering function but when I connect a device it forwards me to a Smartphone Mobile Hotspot Screen and a link to buy the service. I tried uninstallen the Mobile Hotspot app but its still shows the same ****. Does anyone know what to do to enable tethering on a One S from T mobile?
I think you need to add the $15 tethering package from T-Mobile.
I can connect my G2x without it but not my laptop.

Currently the only way I know of to get tethering working without paying for it is to root the phone. Then download wifi tethering for root users. Goto setting and set the device to "Generic ICS" and enable routing fix.

I'm on the $20 preferred android data plan which doesn't allow tethering. I can provide a screen shot of that also if you would like.
Try it with or without the routing fix.
Thanks, it did worked for me, using opengarden, strangely my iPad was able to connect, but not another android phone, it didn't see the connection.

I suspect the phone requires infrastructure mode for wireless whereas the app is providing a peer to peer connection.
Has anyone tried the non-rooted route for tethering?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332627
This thread says changing the APN will work for the Amaze. I would think it would work for the One S but I don't have it to try that yet. Anyone want to test this method and see if it works?
Thanks.
Update: looks like it does work on the One S too according to this post

Roundabout
While I don't understand the technical aspects of tethering a phone, I stumbled upon it when I installed CM7 on my HTC Glacier. Since it was located in the settings area of the phone, I assume that it was the official implementation by Google which was removed via carrier and put back by the great folks at CM. While it may seem the most tedious, if you can find a custom ROM that supports it out of the box then it'll be free (in regards that your carrier won't charge an additional fee as long as you stay within your original data allotment) and it'll probably be the most elegant and stable solution.
Also of note, is that if you tether the round about way, it might work for awhile, but eventually you'll start getting redirected to a T-Mobile page to sign up for a tethering service. You need to change the user agent string in your browser to show that you're using a phone.

Think it sthe SIM
I think the microSIM APN section is locked. I would love if someone who understands the new SIM can explain.
I have the Amaze and was able to edit the APN's on it. But not on this One S and the new Micro SIM.
Don't think it has anything to do with the micro sim. My micro sim is just my old sim cut down.

This isn't working for me, both stock APNs were already set to epc.tmobile.com and I still get the redirect to purchase the $14.99 addon. I don't understand this because my previous Defy and HD2 had no problem sharing thier connection using stock apps on non rooted roms and my data plan wasn't changed when I got the One S. (I'm on the $20 2gb unlimited plus plan).
Figures that this would pop up after they bought my old phone. Given that they claim not to be able to return it, all they can do to put me back to where I was is setup the tethering addon with a corresponding monthly credit. Tech support opens in 3 hours, though I doubt I'll have much luck without loudly complaining at one of their busier corporate stores.
Way to go Tmo!!!!

whatsapp messages delayed only on my home wifi

hello im having a big probelm and need help!
i tried many things to do and nothing works.
Let me explain all the things I've learned. First of all, the problem only occurs on my home wireless network and not at other locations. Sometimes whem someone wants to send me a message I get it delayied between two to 30 minutes. This does not happen when I'm a regular Internet connection. In addition, when i open the app it takes it about 30 seconds to connect and to start sending the messages i tayped message (message waiting with a form of alarm).
I checked the problem in six different phones and it occurs on evrey android that i tried (S2 S3), but not on iphones.
I redefined the home network, I changed my router and modem and still nothing has changed (but not the companies that give me this servises)
All Android-based mobile I use experienced this problem so there is no issue with the device itself or the application download.
help me becuse i am getting crazyyyyyyyyy

Given the scenario you have given;-
1) Your phone works fine for WhatsApp everywhere else
2) Other phones have problems with WhatsApp at your home
3) You've changed the network, router and modem
There is only one possible cause - your ISP must be throttling the WhatsApp data stream for some reason.
You didn't say what happens if you use your device on a different wifi network.

I took that to mean it worked fine on other WiFi networks. Maybe I shouldn't have made that assumption.

If all the other statements are correct then the only thing left which could cause the problem is his ISP - whether it is deliberate throttling or not is a different matter.
didnt work
i changed the company, which is my isp, to another one yestarday - didnt work
the thing is that i noticed that it is not only whatsapp that delayed, but evrey app - facebook email.......
so the problem is not specific with whatsapp, but the all push serives
on over networks he works fine, when i had an iphone (until 3 weeks ago) this never happend
i dont know what to d' and im geting crazyyyyyy

I'm still trying to understand exactly when this happens. Do you get this problem with delays on other WiFi networks?

no only at my homenetwork
It's clearly a networking issue, and my prime suspect is your router's settings.
Do this for a trial: Completely erase all settings in your router (hold down the reset button for 10 seconds, or whatever). Then do just the bare minimum setup in the router's settings, no password, no IP reservation, no port forwarding, no nothing. Then, see if the problem persists.

Yeah, something's fishy. I'm guessing he swapped his physical router for another one, but set up all kinds of routing features which are messing with his phone.
If he comes back and says he's only got 1 computer and 1 phone, and never changed any settings but the SSID and added WPA, then I'm out of ideas.

hi
first of all i didnt do any configuring with the router exepat a pasword
at first i used what the company calles a HOTBOks (the name of the internet company is hot) it is a a device which is a phone line + modem + router
i thougt maybe the problem came from there, so i canceld the built in wiifii any did it "private" by conacting to a EDIMAX router - only put the CD install ps and thats it - didnt work
i changed the ISP for my home - still didnt work....
at my gf house, she has the same hotbok and no problems whatsoever.....
Take your hotboks or router to your girlfriend's house, and see if your phone works there. If not, then the problem is in your house/router.
i dont think it is posibble to do that......
i have no idea what to do - only going back to the very limited world of iphone bahhhh
My money's on your gateway/router being the source of the problem.

Straight Talk Verizon - Only getting 3G data?

I searched other threads on XDA and other sites, I found 1 or 2 other users with this same problem, but none of the steps I tried worked for me.
For the record I was using an AT&T compatible SIM before with straight talk. I got LTE service consistently.
Also, I rooted my device with Magisk, so if you have any unorthodox solutions feel free to be creative with me.
The straight talk website claims there doesn't need to be APN settings setup for the phone, but I realized that is a lie. Here are my current APN settings:

}
I tried changing the APN numerous times. I attempted ACCT.TF.GW6.VZWENTP, ACCT.TF.GW16.VZWENTP and TRACFONE.VZWENTP. They all give me data, but only 3G.
For the APN type, you can tell I tested it out to death. I figured maybe that is why I cannot get LTE service. For the record I can't type in "dun" as the APN type, it gives me an " does not allow adding apns of type default dun" error. I read somewhere that if I use the Tethering Enable Magisk module, but I tried that and still cannot use dun as an APN type. I'm not even sure if that has anything to do with why I don't get 4G.
I used the LTE Discovery app to see if my phone is at least recognizing any LTE towers, but nope. It's almost as if the app doesn't work.
Finally, I tried calling straight talk. No luck. They are morons.
I'm aware that very few people probably have straight talk, so I'm not expecting this thread to get attention any time soon, but anyone that does see this, help a guy out. Lol.
Thanks.
These are the settings from my wife's Moto G6 using straight talk Verizon. Some of it I have never seen before in an APN, but maybe there is something in there that will be helpful to you.

Thanks for the info.
I forgot to mention, when I try to add "dun" to the APN type, it says "carrier does not allow adding apns of type default dun"
Also under bearer, there is no submit button. I believe it's a software glitch. Because of the lack of submit button, I can't adjust the bearer settings.
Ok. Don't add dun. But I would add mms. Also, I don't recall using bearer in the last. They should stick by just checking the appropriate one's right?
Also, the APN itself should help.

I tried just using "default, mms, supl" but I still only get 3G data.
In your screenshot, your wife's phone shows separate options for bearer. Hers doesn't have "unspecified" marked like mine does
Bearer might not be the problem, but I'm troubleshooting.
Ok so first off I use three Pixel's, all have bootloader unlocked, Magisk (although that has no relevance I have learned) and two of the three are running stock (mine is running Resurrection Remix) and all are on StraightTalk working on Verizon's network.
Since 8.1 none of the three devices activate properly after wiping and flashing a monthly update. Sometimes I get the 3g most of the time it won't activate data at all.
My fix... If I need to do a full wipe then I go back to the last 8.0 version (Nov2017 I believe) and flash it, let it boot and it will activate and you'll have LTE data. Next take the most current 8.1 full version (not OTA) and edit the Flash-All.bat to remove the -w and 1 space. Save it and run it and it will update to the latest without wiping and without forcing activation and you'll maintain you LTE data.
Now recently I have wiped and loaded Resurrection Remix on my device and it activated correctly right away and have LTE with no issues. I am not a developer so I don't know the details of why that is but seemed to work for me. If you opt for this route make sure you follow the directions for loading the rom but I did mine with the sim out for the whole process.
Hope that helps!

Why do you have 3 pixels?
Well it's good that you do, because you know a little more about how Straight Talk works with the pixels.
I tried using RR. I decided to bite the bullet because Google's stock OS seems lacking. I'm now getting LTE service, cool!
Therefore it must be a software issue. When I get tired of RR I'll revisit your option of going to 8.0.0 and updating to a newer update and editing the Flash-All.bat to remove the -w and 1 space.
Thank you

Yeah the why is because we have mine and the wife and daughter both have one but since I have to manage them and the updates I decided they get to have what I use, makes it easier on me as I am not having to chase down answers to problems with three different devices.
Good luck...

That's why airlines usually stick with the same plane types. So they only have to have parts for one type.

Jittery/Inconsistent Mobile Hotspot

Hi guys,
Got the Note 10+ last week and the phone is perfect except for one issue which I hope I can get some advice on.
I regularly use my phone as a mobile hotspot (4G) as the hotel WiFi is unreliable.
My Surface Pro connects to this hotspot and ever since using the Note 10 as a hotspot, I've noticed that the connection is very jittery and the lag spikes are such that using apps like Discord is impossible in maintaining a clear and stutter-free conversation.
I put the SIM card back into my last phone (Huawei Mate 9), connected my Surface Pro to its hotspot and the connection is very stable and I have no issues with lag spikes (gaming and discord is trouble-free).
I did a quick test in PingPlotter and here are the results:
{

}
As you can see, aside from the occasional packet loss from the Mate 9, the connection is much more stable. Both phones are in the same location and right next to the laptop.
My carrier does not throttle tethered connections and although USB tethering works slightly better, I'd like to be able to carry my phone around with me.
I've factory reset the Note 10 twice, turned off the Battery Saving option in the mobile hotspot settings and set the power mode to High Performance to no avail. Windows settings for both connections are at their default.
Is there anything else I can try?
Thanks!
EDIT: 10 post rule, sorry, so I can't upload the photos. But in the Note10 ping results, the ping consistently fluctuates from 150ms to 300ms with a few peaks to 500ms. For the Mate 9, it stays consistently at 150ms.

Brainstorming below... Let me know what you think...
Is it possible to test the connection while in safe mode?
Have you turned on developer options in settings, then see if there is something there that can help?
The sim card with which it works better - is there any software from that same vendor installed on the phone (which may help that sim card or hamper the other one)?
Did you log into the carrier's web site for each sim and compare the settings for each account?
Do the two SIM cards show the same bars of signal strength?
Do the two sims utilize the same frequencies?
Is there a way you can go to the store where they sell the worse performing sim and see if they can let you try another sim from then temporarily (which if it works better maybe the sim with the performance problems has some kind of damage or defect)? Or go into any carrier's store and ask them to allow you to test your bad sim by putting it into another phone and using hotspot functionality on that (or are sim cards locked to the IMEI)?
Is one sim locked and the other one not?
Here's a thought. Is your phone 5g? If so, don't you want to ask one or both carriers to send you new replacement sims that support 5g (some people say it doesn't matter but I'm on Verizon and I verified that a new sim is required to support 5g... Just like they required people to switch sims when going from 3g to 4g... if it should not be a requirement, then it must be something not necessarily related that the carrier wanted to change in the sim...)?

Thanks for the detailed reply and your thoughts KruseLudsMobile!
Just tested it with Windows 10 in safe mode - same results.
I've taken a look at the dev options, and the only thing I can see that's directly related is "Tethering hardware acceleration" which was checked by default. I've unchecked it and retested and same result.
Sorry that I didn't make it clear before - I'm using one SIM card, and I'm moving it between the Note 10 and Mate 9 to compare the mobile hotspot performance, which is quite poor on the Note 10. Because of this, I don't believe the SIM card/carrier/network is at issue here.
Both phones connect to B28 with the Note 10 at -95 dBm and the Mate 9 at -102 dBm.
My carrier (Telstra) does not install or impose any settings and both phones are fully unlocked.
I've also tried inserting the SIM card in the second slot with no luck.
Is there anything else I could possibly try?
Running out of ideas...

Yes, SM-N975F to be exact.
I appreciate your help, it's an unusual issue I never thought would come up.
Anyone have other ideas?
Im facing the same problem with my Note 10 lite. My old s8 and even my mom's low end galaxy A21 does not have this problem.
Have you figured out a solution?
If yes, please share it hear to help others with the same situations.
Thanks in advance
