Ok ordered a Hyperion battery for my S5
Had one for my S4 worked great
Now I did the charge cycle to a point but my battery seem to be acting all dorky.
After a good 8 to 10 hr charge it be at 100% but within 15 min the charge will drop down to also 85%
I know this isn't right
Anyone have this issue yet
Thanks

I got this extended battery;

Yes, the indicated charge percent does drop rapidly at first as you said. However, the battery does provide good service after this initial drop.

ive been a nexus s user for almost two days now and i noticed that my battery level stops at 96%. is this normal being as though gingerbread is up and coming and this is the first phone to have it? also i seen a thread on here that shows you how to push your battery to 100% but i also read that the phone may overheat.....im not too sure about that. i have done 2 charging cycles by killing the battery completely and recharging. with my heavy use that i did i got 7 1/2 hrs use. is that normal or is that bad? are there any tips and tricks or will there be a hotfix launched in the near future. thank you for any comments an questions.

See my post in the Accessories forum. The only way to get a true 100% FULL charge is to charge the battery via a wall charger. Since I bought a wall charger and couple extra OEM batteries on Ebay, my battery is lasting significantly longer.

What happens when you pull the cable out? Does the battery immediately drop to 97%? Since it likely does, then it's not truly charging to 100%.

That's what everyone's does and why I pointed you to my post. Get a spare battery and a wall charger and charge your batteries to a true 100% like I do. They last WAY longer.

Charging seems to be taking a really long time on mine and was wondering if this is common, or if mine might be defective...
Please let me know what you find, thanks.
I think this is normal as it has a large capacity battery. Mine too takes a while to charge and I remember reading a review where the reviewer also said it took ages to charge.

I have no idea how long it "normally" takes to charge the Note 10.1 but considering the 7000 mAh battery I would say that it will take a while to charge the tablet.
I'm sure that you can calculate this although I do not remember the formula anymore.
Why not try to search on wolfram alfa from the tablet, I'm sure you can find the answer there?
Yeah, I mean I plugged it in around 12:30am with about 20 percent battery and it's now 9:00am and it's showing 80 percent charged. This is estimated since when off it only list charges in 20/40/60/80/100 sections. I'll buy it takes awhile but this is a quite a long while. I also have an Acer A700 that has a 9800mah battery that doesn't seem to take as long to charge. I'm just concerned that I may have a charging issue...
Other then that this is a great tablet!

It should take around 7 hours to charge. The Tab 10.1 did.

That seems like an inordinately long time. I put mine on the charger at 1:30 last night at 40% and when I woke up this morning at 7:30 it was so full. I guess that's only 60% and I suppose it might have just finished charging right when I woke up.....
Last night mine charged from 30% to 100% in about 4 hours.

Better to charge slowly and have a longer life from the battery, unlike some devices that shove loads of current into the battery in a short time.
Yes - the charge takes awhile, but then the battery life on this model seems to be doing very well.
Is the charger to the Note 10.1 a 1A charger (same current as the one to the Note phone)?
Edit: Never mind, I found the answer here.
Mine went from zero to 50% in two hours with the Note off. Turned it on with wifi on and screen off, charged from 50% to full in another 2.5 hours.
It's normal better use some batter saver apps

In case anyone cares my replacement (switched from 16gb to 32gb) charges at a reasonable speed.
Even with my 10ft aftermarket cable! The stock one is way too short and will be used for data link on the PC.
Case closed!
I JUST CHANGE MY PHONES BATTERY TO A REPLACEMENT WHICH IS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL BUT, ITS NORMAL THAT I CHARGE IT IN ALMOST 4HRS? like i dont even use it just leaving it alone charging..
GUYS, HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU CHARGE YOUR NEXUS S GSM? FROM LIKE BELOW 5% or 10% BELOW..
AND HOW MANY DAYS/HOURS THE NORMAL NEXUS S GSM BATTERY LIFE SPAN?
IM USING CODENAME ANDROID 3.5.0 ROM NOW..

to hit 97% (max battery on stock) i need those 4 hours... but i usually charge it over night so there is no problem
It's a 1500mah battery. The stock charger charges at 500mah. Ergo, 3 hours minimum to charge to 100% while off. Either get a 1amp charger or get used to it.

i just used jelly bean codename android and jellyB fourth release for 2 days but as what ive observe i charged it minimum of 4 hrs and then i used it only as max as 8 to 10 hours without playing any games or used it as daily..
now, i just install remICS v1.2 rom and i dont know if it is nice for me..
I JUST BOUGHT BATTERY LAST 3 DAYS and its replacement for the original and it has 1440 mah..
AFTER I FULLY CHARGED THIS NOW i will reflash the remICS rom and delete battery stats in CWM and calibrate it wtith battery calibration..
is this OK?
So my maxx will drain to 1% battery in about 3 days with 3 hours screen time. The thing is once I hit 1% it can stay on 1% and not shut off for hours. Right now its been on 1% for about 7 hours, I have a youtube video going just to see how much longer it will go. Its been playing a youtube video now for about 20 min on 1%.
I just got this phone last week, is this because the system hasn't fully calibrated the battery? Or is the battery defective in some way? Its kind of annoying because you think you are out of battery but it keeps going so I don't really know how much battery I have.
Definitely not normal. I'd do a factory reset to eliminate a software issue and if the issue persists seems like it must be a hardware issue, exchange it
These sound like calibration issues. Can you fully charge your battery and then leave in on the charger for awhile -- like an hour or more? That should calibrate it correctly.
I have never nor will ever let my battery get that low. These batteries don't like to be drained and then fully charged it's not healthy for the battery. I don't let my battery go below 30 to 40 percent if I can help it. Most of the time I let it get to about 50 percent then I charge it.

not to be rude but where is you information or evidence backing your statement? this goes against everything i know and i certainly always allow my battery to fully die then i fully charge it over night while it is off, i believe charging at 40 percent fools the battery into thinking that is the end of the battery's daily life span and therefore dying prematurely due to it believing that 40 percent is the end.
I do not have any real evidence except i've gotten exceptional battery life with my Ultra after allowing a full cycle (draining all the way and then fully charging while powered down)...i have gotten just under 32 hours with 4 hours and some odd minutes screen on with about an hour of voice calls and random other usage such as tapatalk browsing, internet, texting and maybe some email or youtube....i occasionally play some games like the new CoD Strike Force

The best source is battery university. Here are a few good links. In the first, look at the third column (Li-ion), as that's the battery pack in the Maxx/Ultra/Mini
http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_charge_when_to_charge_table
http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries
From the second link (emphasis mine):
Similar to a mechanical device that wears out faster with heavy use, so also does the depth of discharge (DoD) determine the cycle count. The shorter the discharge (low DoD), the longer the battery will last. If at all possible, avoid full discharges and charge the battery more often between uses. Partial discharge on Li-ion is fine; there is no memory and the battery does not need periodic full discharge cycles to prolong life, other than to calibrate the fuel gauge on a smart battery once in a while.

Coming from a Gnex, I have a charger within 3 feet of me everywhere I go. I'm trying to break myself of the habit of plugging it in but mine still gets a charge at some point during the day, if only in the car. It has always been my practice to let my phones run down almost to dead maybe once every couple of months. I feel like it keeps the phone's battery meter calibrated although I have nothing to base this on.

Hi there,
Anyone experience that after overnight charging, the battery will drop to 99% instantly just after unplug from charging brick?
I also notice that after its fully charged, turn off the phone and let it charged for another 30 mins or so, once turn it ON and the 100% will stay for 5-10 mins before the 1st drop.

that instant drop is to protect the battery...
its normal...
and for longer battery life dont charge it upto 100%...
charge it somewhere around 85 and use it upto 20%...
85-20 is the best charging ratio..

What? It's not normal. Charging to 100% is fine. It shouldn't instantly drop down.

Due to it being a lithium polymer battery it is best to only actually charge it to around 85%, as when it hits 100% a part of the battery does actually die.. The same idea goes with running it to 20%, that's as low as you should run it, its not like the old batteries where you have to run it in, that's actually bad for the new batteries that operate most of today's devices.. But with that being said, the amount of the battery that dies with charging it to 100% or letting it run to 5% is so miniscule that you'd only notice a difference after around 600 cycles, so around 2 years.. Even then it would be close to a battery ran to perfection.. The difference between 2 would only be around 10%
