[Q] Stock launcher, individual icon change - General Questions and Answers

I have rooted my device, Nexus 5, and I want to change my icons but keep my default launcher. I found Unicon but as far as I can see it can apply icon packs but not change icons one by one. Is there any application that can do it?

Try icon changer by junyeong its free! This is the app youve definitely need for! You can decorate the app's icon... or you can use junyeong's icon package for icon changer! Or you can use other launcher's icon pack!
PS: it only decorates or customize the app icon on the home screen. It does not change app icon in the app drawer ..

[Q] Themed ADW Launcher Issue!

I installed SenseLauncher.apk (reference) and got it on the home-screen. However, when I drag an app on the LAB or RAB, the app icon is shown over the theme icons! e.g. I tried to drag the Dialer app onto the Phone button, but I got the Dialer icon on top of the Phone icon! I checked in the settings but could find anything to hide the overlaying icons. Please help.

remove icon labels/names?

Is there an App or widget that would allow me to remove icon labels/names?
Haven't rooted yet so just running a stock Rom.
you can use desktop visualizer and keep shortcuts of your desired apps on the homescreen and you can remove the labels/names .....
In 3rd party launchers like ADW and Launcher Pro the option to hide app labels is there.
But if you really want to keep stock launcher I guess you could use Desktop. Visualizer to add a shortcut to the app and clear the label then use the icon from that app but it comes out a bit stretched out, unless you have custom icons in a higher resolution.

Bettercut will do that for you too.
GO Launcher EX has this option as well.

Thanks for the replies.
Go Launcher works perfectly.

Any way to change icons?

I love this phone, but I am not that crazy about the icons on TouchWiz. Is there anyway to change icons without being on a ROM that has the theme chooser?

you cuold always try apex launcher or another launcher also!
APK Edit will allow you to change the icon and/or application name for any program... very easy to use.

OK, a lot easier way to do this is to download "Apex Launcher" or "Nova Launcher" from the play store. They both support icon packs. There are many free ones out on the play store (stock jellybean, motorola icons, lg icons, google icons, touchwiz icons...etc)
Launcher:

Icons (a bunch):

Sweet, thanks for the response guys that helps a lot.

Icon changer works for me:good:
I've been using Apex launcher for a while now an I really like it. The best feature is letting me change the home page grid size. I really prefer to have 5 x 4 instead of the default 4x4.
I find GO Launcher EX to be an excellent launcher as it has some many plugins available so you can customize every aspect of the O/S to make it look exactly like you want. It also has a complete widget series for further customization. I like the custom calendar, weather, and notifications it provides. Also there is a really cool SMS text message app that add many custom icons to your text messages.

(Q) App to change icons

Is there any app that can be used to change individual icons within the app drawer (not the home screen). I should be able to change the individual app icons for my own liking. For instance within Apex u can change icons by long clicking on the app n choosing an icon, so I want the same functionality within the app drawer

A theme would do this, wouldn't it (which Apex supports) ?
It'll change icons like sms and Gmail like most app packs do. But not all apps are supported so you'll have some themed icons and some non themed in your drawer. I'm looking for something that's able to apply different icons to apps in the drawer too.

So the app I would need is one that would b able to change the non-themed icons...u may say tht the particular theme doesn't support sm icons bt if u look within the icon pack u will find tht the custom themes do exist but they haven't been changed within the app drawer

Here it is
Download the attachment app below or View its Detail
** HOW TO USE **
1. Execute ICON CHANGER
2. Choose application or activity to change icons
3. Choose an image from gallery / icon package
4. Icon will be changed!!!! :good: :fingers-crossed:
Cheers ! Cheers !
but don't forget to hit the sexy "Thanks" button below.
After icon packs have been loaded in your launcher ADW/APEX/HOLO/LIVEHOME there will be some apps that have not been supported.
There will be some themed icons and some unthemed icons in the app drawer.
You can apply a custom icon to any app on the home screen.
Icon changer only seems to change the icon for display on the home screen not the drawer
We are looking for an app that will ALSO change the app icon in the drawer.
I don't want to have to decompile each apk and change the icon manually. Is there an app or process that you will allow me to change apply icons for the home screen AND the drawer?

[REQ] Transparent multicolored Nexus "X" icon

Has anyone been able to find a transparent Nexus "X" icon that looks like this one:
http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/28928/google-nexus-7-tablet-hard-reset-or-reboot/
I'd like to use it for my app drawer icon.
I use Apex Launcher which allows you to change your icons to any image. just google images for "Nexus X". It is more difficult with the stock launcher (aka. I don't know how to do it
